I was at Glen Mills Senior Living for only a short time, I had no complaints about anything. I didn't need a lot of help. I was self-sufficient even though I was in a cast. I was able to manage by myself. The staff was very friendly, courteous, and very efficient. I found the food to be good. All of the accommodations were pleasant and clean. I enjoyed my stay there. There was a sitting exercise class every morning, which I went to, and there was bingo, card games, trivia games, word searches, all kinds of stimulating activity for the brain, and movies to watch. I brought books with me to read. I was able to stay and be reasonably active. I was able to get around with the help of a knee cycle where you kneel on the bad leg and push with your other one. So, I wasn't confined in any way. I would recommend it to everybody who needed a respite stay.

I loved Glen Mills Senior Living. I was very impressed. I said, "Oh, my goodness, this looks like a little summer home." It's a very beautiful place and well-kept. The person who showed me around was excellent. He was fantastic. He took the time to show me, explained, and listened. The dining area was very nice and clean. I saw some of the patients exercising and things like that, what they call chair exercises and stuff. I visited other facilities, but I kind of like this one the best so far.

Glen Mills Senior Living was a smaller facility than the first one I went to. They were very nice and knowledgeable. It was a newer facility. They didn't seem to have as many options for room styles, but what they had was adequate.

Glen Mills Senior Living was a good community. It was clean and the front of the building was well-manicured. I liked the fact that they knew all the residents, and the residents looked happy. They were there playing bingo at the time. The tour guide was very personable and very knowledgeable. We saw a dining area, the area where they play games, where they watch TV, and we saw 3 different bedrooms. The sizes were good and the layouts were fine. They had transportation, physical therapy, and a salon.

Glen Mills Senior Living was terrific. I had a great tour. The fellow who showed me around, Ken, was excellent. Everything looked new, bright, and modern. The staff were very friendly and very capable. The room I saw was terrific. It was a suite. It had a very calm, peaceful, and cheery atmosphere.

Glen Mills Senior Living was a very nice place and well-kept. They had a lot of activities. The apartment was bigger than any of the others that I looked at. They were much more spacious. The staff was just right there. Even when we were trying to find something, somebody popped over and said, "Can I help you?" They were very responsive. They were completing some construction, but they had a little bistro, a movie theater, an activities room, and a game room. They had the whole nine yards.

Glen Mills Senior Living was a very nice place. The rooms were well-maintained, colorful, and neat. They have a kitchenette section where there's a sink and a refrigerator. It was modern. The bathroom was large and clean. The staff seemed very amiable. The residents looked happy. They're a very active community. They take the residents to dinner or Wal-Mart or another box store to shop. Then they have game nights and a chef that comes in and demonstrates how to prepare different types of meals and what they're going to be eating that night.

We have chosen Glen Mills Senior Living for my brother. It seems like it's very professionally run and has a nice sense of calm. Everyone was very friendly and seemed very caring. The rooms were very well maintained, nice, and clean. The dining area looked very welcoming. They don't have a pool. They have a salon and a small charge for laundry service. I felt that my brother would get the attention he needed. It was a pleasant atmosphere. The staff was very welcoming and professional.

My father’s care at Glen Mills Senior Living was terrible! The staff did not assist him or even check on him regularly. My father needed medications and care that was “MISSED” as the executive director agreed with me after I begged the staff to please help my father in his care. We received a discount one month because they did not shower him on his shower days each week so many times! The staff is rude, and even was mean to my father when he would ask them nicely to help him, which is their job! I am very protective of my dad, and did THEIR JOBS many times, because they failed to do so continuously. I spoke many times to the nurses, directors, and even the executive director, and their response was always that they would check into why my father did not receive the care that he should have. I moved my father out of there after less than a year due to how poor the care was. Shame on Glen Mills Senior living! I do not recommend it to anyone, and I feel badly for the residents there that do not have an advocate to help speak for them.

Glen Mills Senior Living is OK. The staff is friendly and cooperative. My mother has a studio apartment, and it's clean. I've eaten there one time, and it was good. They have entertainment, group activities, bingo, and arts and crafts. Many of the residents are in wheelchairs, some have walkers or canes to get around, and very few get around unassisted. The facility is fine, but they don't have much for my mom to do.

Laura, the person who took me on the tour at Glen Mills, was great. They had beautiful, lovely, and clean living quarters. The place was pretty nice and good, and has a lot of different thing for the residents to do. They have Bingo and they like to go out shopping, which is the most fun for them. They also have a community van.

They let residents sleep all night in urine. When asked to walk your loved one to the bathroom, they give you lip service saying they will, but nothing ever gets better. I would not recommend this facility

I have seen first hand multiple times the miserable and at times rude staff at this facility. I am able to witness this because I am not a family member. The dining room staff is beyond miserable and rude. I have never seen a pleasant worker in the dinning room and the food and service is horrible. You do find a few pleasant and helpful employees but they are few and far between. I have been to multiple facilities where the staff and quality of food served is wonderful but not here. God help those that can't communicate in a place like this and for those that can they may think all facilities are like this but that can't be further from the truth. They are continually understaffed which effects what little quality of care they do get making the situation even worse. I will say that the facility is clean but that is about the only positive I see. The few daily events are basically the same every week. So there is very little to do. Please take the time to look around before placing your loved one here. This facility needs to take a hard look st who they are hiring starting in the dinning room and insure they have enough staff to meet the residents needs. There is barely a warm welcome when entering the facility which should be the first warning sign. I see what they don't want families to see or know. Please please please look elsewhere.

Glen Mills Senior Living appears to be a little bit understaffed. It’s convenient to where my parents live. The rooms are clean, nice, and spacious enough. The grounds are fine. It’s very appealing when you approach the place.

Glen Mills Senior Living was beautiful and brand-new. The layout, grounds, restaurant, and atmosphere were beautiful and homey. The rooms were small but homey. The people were very nice.

I am a friend or family member of a resident. I'm giving Glen Mills Senior Living a 5 Star Rating for our experience in arranging and enrolling our loved on into their facility. The carefully explained everything they provide, they understood our financial needs and went out of their way to accommodate us. Putting a loved one into a home is a difficult and emotionally taxing experience. The staff at Glen Mills showed us all around the facility and showed us several of the individual rooms. During the tour I noticed the kindness of a half a dozen staff members including the Executive Director as recognized and. interacted with the residence.. On our first day we checked in and got settled. After a physical examination and review of all of our medications, need, we had two meals in the main dining room.. I found all of the staff members competent friendly and outgoing towards all of their residence. Found all of the hallways the guestrooms and the community public rooms clean and well lit, everything looks brand-new. We live nearby and will be stopping in unannounced on a regular basis. The food is so good in the main dining room that we will be joining our loved one for meals as if we were all going out to a restaurant for fine dining. I will post here periodically, and each time I'm hoping to give five stars, so far so good..

I visited Glen Mills and it seemed nice enough, but what put me off is that the person who was showing me around ignored all the residents, so I thought this would not be a good place. We walked by people in the hall sitting in wheelchairs, and she took me into the dining room where people were eating, and not only did she ignore those people, but she even ignored the waitress. She didn't say hello to any of the residents, not one. I was thinking to myself "Well, maybe she's new and she doesn't know their names. Maybe she feels awkward," so I asked her, "Do you know most of the residents here by name?" and she said "Oh yeah, we're like a big family," and I was thinking to myself "Whoa, really? You just always walk by your family and not ever say hello to them?" So, that place was a big no-no. I don't want my family to be in there and ignored all day. I saw the rooms, but I was just so put off. They're smaller apartments but nice enough. I really couldn't get past the woman who ignored everyone. The parking lot and the building were well maintained. I didn't get a tour of the outside areas. They had exercise and games. I think they had an area where residents can go anytime and get drinks and snacks. The rest of the staff could be wonderful, and it could just be that one lady. The place could be as beautiful as anything, but if the people don't have the right attitude, then you don't want your loved one in there.

The staff is overworked. They hurt my aunt while moving her. Instead of following up, she was forced to leave. They say they can handle wheelchairs and transfers, but do not. They take your money, but do not provide care. She also had money and items stolen from her room. We had to put a bell so she would wake up if someone entered her room.

My Aunt was a resident there for less than a month, after Glen Mills determined that they could provide the amount of support she required. After three weeks of living there, my Aunt was rushed to the local hospital in respiratory distress and diagnosed with both flu and pneumonia that the medical staff at the Glen Mills facility were not aware of. She died five days later. The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, Bureau of Human Services Licensing just concluded their investigation and found the facility negligent in the care of my Aunt. We are considering legal action. I would not even give this facility one star.

My mother-in-law has been a resident of this facility for over 2 years. We live very close to the facility and "drop-in" daily for unaanounced visits. We are always greeted by friendly staff who personally know the needs/likes/concerns of our family member. The dining staff greet our family member by name, engage in conversation with her and always welcome us to sit and have a treat at the table. The room is always clean, laundry is done efficiently, maintenance responds quickly to needs and free transportation is provided to medical visits. Activities are always offered and family events are planned. The personal assistant is extremely kind and through when dealing with the needs of my mother-in-law. I often tell people that "compassion and caring" are two qualities that can not be faked! The staff at Glen Mills are not faking...they are kind and compassionate!

They are often under staffed. The administration is not personable. They don't give enough at meals and they are under cooked. The chicken is punk. The aides are nice but overwhelmed. They give hope and then take it away. They advertise activities and often do not happen.

My name is Suzanne Piechotta and I am the Executive Director at Glen Mills Senior Living. I am extremely proud of the community that I manage and I am sad to learn of your experience. Our daily activity programs are developed with our residents in mind and the residents themselves provide input for the programming they wish to have provided at Glen Mills. Our "All Day" dining program provides our residents with an availability to dine between the hours of 7:30 am till 6:30 pm. Residents can come in at any time and choose from the wide selection of choices along with the portion size they wish to eat. I hope you would find our community and our team members to be attentive to all needs and to be the professional support you would expect from Glen Mills Senior Living. I invite you to visit us at Glen Mills again so I can address your concerns in person. My phone number is (610) 358-4900. Thank you,

Glen Mills was nice, very attractive and the apartment looked lovely, bright and cheery. The people seemed very pleasant. However, it was too close to the main highway. My sister-in-law does not like driving and the sound of traffic. They had a special treat they call their apple cake and as we left, the lady gave us each a little box of apple cakes and that was very nice but the traffic overruled it. I like the facility a lot but it's old-fashioned and it has plants hanging around the porch, roof and people sitting out on the porch seemingly enjoying themselves. I'd give them a high rating except for the fact that I don't know what their food was like.
