I chose Merrill Gardens at Glen Mills for my mom because it offered the appropriate services. It was a price that she could afford, they had availability, it was very clean, and I liked the staff. I thought it was the right spot for her. She has a TV in her room, and she's got stand-by assistance when she needs it; that's important. Her room is very bright, cheery, clean, well-maintained, and looks very new.

I toured Merrill Gardens at Glen Mills. I like its location. It wasn't huge. It was very community-like inside. A lot of people go around doing a lot of different kinds of things. One of the cool things at Merrill Gardens was they have a movie theater, and besides a dining room, they have a cafe kind of place. If a friend came to visit and it was the middle of the afternoon, you could go in there and grab something to eat even though it wasn't lunchtime. I didn't interact with anybody except the different ones that I passed in the hall, but everybody stopped to say hello as you walked by and that kind of thing. The people at the front desk were nice. The person who took me around was nice. It was very cheery, cozy, and bright.

Merrill Gardens at Glen Mills was beautiful, and it was new when we went. It was like a year ago, and it was in between activities and nobody was out doing anything, and all the rooms were empty. My mother was like, "Look, nobody's doing anything. Nobody's here." Then they all came down the halls and they did bingo somewhere. They had an exercise room, a craft room, a music room, and a game room. They had a bar and you brought your own drink to the bar. If it was tomato juice or orange juice or whatever, you brought it there. The guy kept it for you. Then you'd go in and he'd say, "Do you want to drink?" and you would get your tomato juice and you could sit there and chat. I thought that was the coolest thing. There was a sewing room, an activity room, and a movie theater downstairs. There was a 50s designer kind of idea for breakfast and lunch. There was a nice eat-in dining room where you order from a menu. The staff was very helpful. She answered all the questions. She had made suggestions. She also explained that if my mom needed service and help getting a shower, they had that kind of service we could pay for.

We went to Merrill Gardens at Glen Mills. We loved the people. We loved everything available, whether it was the activities that they had or the different rooms that they had. They had a movie theater room and a craft room. They just had a lot of different things there. What we didn't like, it was too spread out for my mom because of her mobility. Everyone I met was definitely engaged, caring, and very involved in what they were doing with the residents. They just had a lot of activities. It was very clean, and it just seemed that the residents were engaged. They had PT and OT on site. They had a craft room, a sewing room, and a game room. They had a pub. It was really cute, it was styled like a fifties diner. So breakfast and lunch were at the fifties diner, and then dinner was off the main dining hall.

I toured Merrill Gardens at Glen Mills. I liked the staff that I met, and the facilities were pretty phenomenal. I thought it was amazing. It was bright and interactive. It had super modern things, and I loved the layout. Of all the places I've seen, this was by far and away my favorite. It was relatively affordable and the staff seemed good. The amenities were great for the residents. They had really beautiful outdoor spaces. They had a courtyard, a nice movie theater, a cafe, and a gift shop. It's almost like a little village. The staff who took me around was very interactive and attentive with us, with the residents, and with other staff members that she was interacting with.

Merrill Gardens at Glen Mills was awesome. It was very nice. It was definitely geared for the older person. They had plenty of things for them to do. It wasn't just a place to put them. It was a place to have them live their lives in a safe environment. Everybody was super nice and caring. The place was immaculate. It was great. Meals were included to a certain amount. They were given a cap per month. They can use it or not; it's up to them. Everything looked great. They had plenty of rooms for different activities, and there was plenty of space. The rooms were gorgeous. The only problem I had is I thought the studio rooms were a bit small for the price; other than that, everything else looked really great.

We've chosen Merrill Gardens at Glen Mills for my mom. We loved it. The staff was very friendly. It's very clean, very modern, and uplifting. The grounds are just immaculate. It looks like a resort. I didn't observe any, but on the sign, they had a lot of activities that they do throughout the day.

I saw Merrill Gardens at Glen Mills and toured it. It was quite nice. It wasn't as homey as the other community, but it certainly had more activities. It had a little grocery store, a little diner that you can go to, and a movie theater type thing. The rooms were quite nice. It's brand new and it's very nice.

We liked Merrill Gardens at Glen Mills, but it was too big. We liked that they had an awful lot to offer. They had a bar, a diner, a really beautiful dining room, and a store. It was very nice. They had amenities for everything. They had an activities room, they had a kitchen where you could bring people from the outside to cook, and they had a place for catering. They had a library and a game room.

I liked Merrill Gardens at Glen Mills. It was nicely laid out. The drawback I had on The Summit was they do not have a swimming pool on the premises, and I use water aerobics to keep me moving. They have a Y about a quarter mile to half a mile down from them that I could join. I'm driving now, but that doesn't mean that I'll be able to drive there. The rooms were small, but they were doable. I would have to take two bedrooms because I want to take my baby grand piano, which means that the price goes up. if I wasn't worried about a piano, the living room would be adequate. They said they have activities, but they had just opened and the pandemic set in. They have a gym, a movie theater, a sewing room, a music room, and a small library. It was a nice place. I looked at the rooms and they have balconies and I liked that, but I decided that I would take a room without a balcony because it had nice-sized closets. Everything was nice. It was brand new. They have several choices for your meals. I thought it was nice enough that that's the place that I put money down on. The kitchen is in there in the room, but it's kind of separated by a countertop space, where you could eat on one side. If your guests are visiting, they don't have the feeling that they're visiting you in the kitchen.

We toured The Summit at Glen Mills for my dad, and it was beautiful and very nice. The staff were very informative and very nice to deal with. The place was new and has a homey feel, rather than a rehab or hospital feel. It is close to my home, and that is what I am looking for.

It is beautiful and very welcoming. We were greeted immediately and even though we didn’t have a scheduled appointment, they were more than happy to accommodate our tour request. We met with Billy, who was extremely knowledgeable and made us feel like he and the facility truly care about their residents. We were offered something to drink and an invitation to have lunch in the cutest little 1950’s style diner. Every employee and resident we came across was more than happy to share their feelings about living and working in this amazing place. We were awestruck with the way it is set up like its own little town, complete with a post office, general store, Drs. Office and salon. There is even valet parking in their garage! This is a must see for anyone interested in luxury retirement.

We moved in soon after opening. Feel like we have moved in with family! Beautiful, brand new apartment. The staff is helpful, kind, caring and most welcoming. Grateful to all that have made our transition into independent living so smooth!! Food is superb, health care and therapies beyond our expectations. Lucky to have found the Sunmit.

Hard to get to; very confusing directions from staff. Finally found the place. Parking is limited and the so close to the road. The traffic noise is loud to enjoy the outdoor roof top deck. Inside the community was very nice; between the movie theater and the pub, wood shop and the craft room. My husband and I felt very rushed during our tour with Jamie and she keep asking for a deposit several time during the tour; when we haven’t seen the whole community yet, or even had a chance to ask questions. If it wasn’t so close to the road with the traffic noise or had an easier way of turning into the community when your traveling south on Baltimore Pike.
