I can not begin to discribe the transformation this community has had. My mother has never been happier and we feel blessed that the new owners have breathed life back into this beautiful setting. From the lobby to the roof top attention has been paid. We love the staff and have had to buy a size bigger clothing for mom. When we visit we ask the staff that greets us as we walk through the door where mom is because it is rare to find her in her apartment during waking hours. She loves the activities and the socialization with her neighbors and staff. There is no other like this in Erie Pa. The best we could want for her.

We went to The Residence at Presque Isle Bay. If I had to rate this on any other one, I would have put my parents in there in a heartbeat. But my mom said that it was too close to the lake and that she already felt cold just looking at it. We were like, okay, mom. So we chose the one with the stove in the room because we know my mom likes to cook, so that was a deal breaker. The tour guide was super friendly. She called me up. She had a follow-up phone call with me. She was super helpful. My sister and I were just impressed with the sunrooms in that place. How sunny it was, how bright it was, and just how new things looked. We just liked it. Everything that we saw was very nice. And the people were very friendly. The library was very important to my dad. They did have very small libraries there, but I'm sure the bookmobile comes to them. They were talking about the bookmobile coming to them. And obviously, they would have outings to the library if they needed them. So, it was all good.

I went to The Residence at Presque Isle Bay. I like the location, and the staff is very welcoming. The clients there as well were also very welcoming. There was a little welcoming committee when we came in. I like the room size, they were good, and the bathroom size was handicap accessible. It was good. The one thing I did find a turnoff was they didn't have a whole lot of outdoor seating in the back. They did tell me they were under construction and they were working on it. But there wasn't a whole lot of activity to be done outside for an independent person. They do have walkways that go down around the water, which were nice, but there are also geese, and so it was filled with geese poop. So I don't know if anybody would walk down there. It was pretty gross. I would say it would be my biggest turnoff. But everything else was good. Very clean and neutral patterns throughout. I thought that was very pretty when you walked in. The rooms were very neutral looking and you could decorate them the way that you wanted. So that was also very nice. I found everything to be very clean. The one thing I would say is it's a smaller refrigerator size than some of the others that I had been to in the past, not recently though. Inside was a high five, but outside I would say probably more of a three.

The Residence at Presque Isle Bay was a nice place, but it doesn't fit my brother's budget. It's right there on the bay. My brother would have loved it because he's a Navy guy. The staff were nice people. They showed me different rooms. Some were bigger than others. Some with a nicer view of the bay and some were looking at the Bay Front highway, but they were all nice and very clean rooms.

We have the best aides in town. They are very kind and caring. I’ve been at three places and this is the best place to be. They keep me as busy as I’ll let them when it comes to activities and the call bell system makes me feel extremely safe. I never have to worry about waiting more than 5 minutes for assistance. I would highly recommend the residence at presque isle bay.

The Residence at Presque Isle Bay was a very beautiful place. The people we saw and talked to were very, very nice, and efficient. We went into the dining area for the memory care, and the food smelled good, but I don't know what it tasted like. They had social activities and the meals. It seemed very good. We saw all the common areas and they were very nice and clean.

Let me first say that our mom has never been a complainer and has never had anything negative to say about the food. Her meals are timely and if needed she can eat in her room. She does enjoy having a room with a view of the bay and enjoys watching the water foul, boating and lovely water view. The public spaces are comfy with lots of places to just stop and sit a while and lovely little “sun room” spaces to enjoy large windows and the outside views. Sadly there is no one at the lobby desk after 4 leaving no one to greet guests or encourage residents to engage and also leaving the Bistro Cafe unattended to for snacks and activities for socializing. However the most important need is the daily needs of the residents. The staffing does not seem to be adequate for the residence’s needs - the facility appears to be way under staffed. Last night there was 1 person for each floor and when one is on break, the other is covering both floors alone. As I mentioned earlier there is no one at the reception desk in the lobby after 4pm so if you need someone the resident or their visitor if they have one, has to hunt all over for someone to help them...it’s like a ghost town at times. When a resident pushes their buzzer for assistance they have no idea how long before someone is going to show up. A communication system that included a response from the caregiver to the resident would go along way when the resident who cannot get out of their chair to their bed or the bathroom w/o assistance is waiting...and waiting. There is no one managing the Bistro Cafe any more so snacks are not available like they used to be. There used to be card games going on in there with ice cream or home made goodies and popcorn with some ice water & juice all the time and now it’s empty. Our mother has been in this facility through 2 ownership changes and as a family we have seen the facility deteriorate - yes they have a patio outside but it’s a disheveled mess out there and many plants are left for dead as well as the front entry which used to be Seasonally decorated all the time and beautiful. Everything is covered with debris and webs and cushions just in massive piles by the doorways. It used to be a lovely place to enjoy the outside...both front and back patio. Overall as a family we are very disappointed in the new ownership.

It is an excellent place. The rooms were a little small, but they did have larger rooms too. It's in an excellent area, it's right on the bay of Lake Erie, and the scenery is gorgeous. The people were outside sitting around, talking, and playing games. It was very nicely-decorated and the dining room was nice. The staff who helped me was excellent and upbeat about everything that was going on there. The place was good and clean.

We toured and it was excellent. The personnel was of high quality and seemed very attentive to the clients. The overall feel and food were very above average.

It was very nice, bright, and clean. It is a newer place. The hallways are a bit shorter than most places. They had an extensive menu, and they had a little café where you can get a sandwich any time. The location was beautiful on the lake, and several rooms overlooked the lake and the sailboat arena.

It has just a more homey atmosphere and is not as institutional. There was a lot more warmth and homey atmosphere in it. They do have daily activities and games. They have occasional outings where they take residents out to see different things. They do have exercise and movies. They have Holidays celebration where families are invited to come and be there. Cleanliness is very good, and I've been very happy. There is nothing really out of place or anything that I would consider dirty so I feel good about that. The staff is always very personable and very kind. They are very helpful and always appreciate if you're talking to them or offering something. They are always very courteous and are very good overall. If there is anything or an emergency, they call me by phone. I've been very happy with everything at this point. There is a doctor at the facility that my mother has been utilizing. They have been taking care of arranging the appointments and making sure she gets there. If there is something outside of the facility, I know that they have a shuttle that they can utilize.

It was very nice and the staff was good. The facility was fine, I saw two different rooms and everything was fine. I would recommend this facility to others.
