There are no complaints about the food at Alexandria Manor from my mom so it seems to be OK. I saw them serve, and the food looks fine. The room is very clean, nicely-appointed, she has a couple dressers, and she has a private bathroom. Everything is top notch, and I am very happy with it. They seem to have several different activities every day, and it seems like they keep the people occupied. They have a large TV, a library in the basement, and a physical therapy room, and I think it's good.

I think Alexandria Manor of Bethlehem was a little dated, but it was clean and the staff person who gave the tour was friendly, thorough, and answered my questions. He showed me everything. From what I have seen, the staff seemed friendly and warm to the residents. The rooms that I saw were a nice size, too.

This community is a newer community, but there is a lot of long-term staff. Rooms sizes are larger than average and the amenities and activities are typical of what is found in seniors living. Its quality care at a good price so the value is good. The owners are local and care about the residents and their families so there is a bigger trust factor than most other senior living communities which are dominated by private equity funds.

Alexandra Manor is the one we were familiar with. It seemed too much like a hospital. My mother was in a room with someone else. It was just one big room and bed next to bed. I didn't like the way it was set up, either. My mother was on the first floor (of course we could have changed her to the 2nd or 3rd), but being on the first floor was really bad in the winter time. In the main entrance is your great room, your dining room and living room combined. The office is down at that level too, and there is a door at the back where the staff went in and out. Those doors would open up and you would be freezing in there. I didn't like that. It would be good if they had an outer door.

Alexandria Manor on Linden Street in Bethlehem, Pa is an assisted living facility that provides a minimum of care. Residents sit in chairs staring at empty walls in a hallway. Activities are few and far between. The building abuts a parking lot with no green space and only views of a busy road. The meals are adequate but tend to be pre-prepared ie. Chicken nuggets. Residents with special dietary needs are not easily accommodated. Alexandria Manor does provide in house physical therapy as well as physician service which is a great convenience. The staff, although turnover is great, always seemed caring.

After taking an extensive tour of Alexandria Manor's Bethlehem location, I think I can feel safe leaving members of my family there. The beautiful facility promotes a positive mood and has that cozy feel to it that makes it feel more like a home. There are a large variety of amenities the facility offers, including bingo, a barber shop, and cable in every room at no extra charge. The location is great as well, with Bethlehem being a city sprawling with entertainment. To top it all off, the staff is very friendly and observing the way they treat other retirees there makes me know that my family will be in safe hands at Alexandria Manor.
