My mother is currently at Ambler Extended Care. She is a stroke victim with dementia and in a wheelchair. She has been there a year and it's the best choice we've made. Her previous place was horrible. The aids stole her stuff, neglected her and she hated the food. Here she is happy, there are endless activities, the staff is kind and she loves the food options. Ambler is by no means perfect, but the genuinely care for my mother. Ambler has extended her quality of life tremendously. Im grateful for all they do.

My mother was at Ambler Extended Care. Everyone who worked there from the physical therapist to the nurse aides was very nice and friendly. They answered every question you had and they were very caring. The facility was nice. It was a little bit dated, but what they had, they made it look as nice as they could. We had physical therapy and occupational therapy there. They had bingo and all that stuff for adults. I think they just need to improve the appearance of the place. They were shared rooms and everything was dated. The rooms need to be a little brightened up. I was very satisfied with their service. They called if there was an issue, and they talked me through anything, any questionsI had. They were always there to help out.

The staff didn’t keep us informed of any medication changes. When asked they would be vague about what was going on. The staff was more interested in their phones than watching and caring for the residents. Some brought their children in as they had no day care. We eventually moved our loved one to another facility. Person was moved in hospital gown and all clothes were sent completely filthy. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

I would not recommend Ambler Extended Care. My mother was exposed to Covid-19, caught it in their facility and had to be rushed to the ER where she was properly treated. Prior to my mother's trip to the ER: The staff was nice, but they did not communicate between themselves or with me. My mother deteriorated under their care. First, the food was below my mother's expectations, the meal plans were not flexible to meet her specific needs. During her time at the facility, she was exposed, and caught Covid-19. By the time that she was rushed to the ER at my urging, getting mom's doctor involved, her kidneys had shut down due to dehydration and her temperature was at 103. The facility had NOT YET EVEN TESTED FOR COVID! She would have died there. In addition, she was only supposed to be at the facility for three weeks for rehab. The staff pushed hard to have me leave her there. Now I'm trying to get her belongings back, but I'm being put off and my calls are not being returned. Stay away. Far away.

Would NOT recommend. Room was small, dark and not very clean. Window a/c unit was old and wrapped in duct tape that didn't work very well. 2 person room with ajoining bathroom to another room. Walked in as aide was helping other resident. Toilet was not cleaned after use. Staff was friendly but when calling to check on parent felt that it was an incovenience to ask questions and felt rushed. Conversation with rude nursing manager, Cindy, was told I could take my parent to another facility if I was not happy. Very sarcastic and could use a refresher on being empathetic, especially when dealing with older, dementia patients. Food was ok but not warm. Did not participate in any activities. No phones in room, or remotes for TV. Staff converstions in dining/meeting area could be over heard. Ratings online are inaccurate. Would NOT recommend.

My mother was recently a rehab patient and I cannot say enough great things about the rehab staff. They were kind, patient, caring, and thorough. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff did not seem to know what they were doing, nor did they communicate with each other or my family. The bathroom in my moms room was gutted and remodeled while the ladies were in their room, leaving them without handy toilet facilities for several days.

My mother is now in Ambler Extended Care Center. They are good with activities, but it looks like they are shorthanded. She says the food is good sometimes.
