I chose Sunrise of Dresher because it was recommended to me by the social worker at the skilled nursing where I was coming from. I like the care and the positive attitude of everyone on staff, and the upkeep of the facility. My apartment is brand new, perfect, freshly painted, bright, and sunny. They give us some fresh fruit and several choices. There's fresh salad daily and they have a nice dining room. They have well-planned activities all day long. I go to exercise class every morning, which is fun. I enjoy that.

Sunrise of Dresher was very nice. It had a nice greeting room and a large piano that the residents could play. They had a nice enclosed sunroom where you could meet with family members and be outside (but not outside in the cold). So, that was lovely. The rooms were a good size, especially for the studio that we were looking for. Their menu offered quite a bit of variety. They said they would be able to handle pureed food and dicing food should mom need that, and they can handle folks who may need additional assistance beyond just one person's list (that's also a good possibility). They had a lovely outdoor sidewalk, games, and folks that come in from the outside. There's a gentleman that comes in every Wednesday and plays music for the residents. There are special events, too (whatever the monthly theme is).

My tour at Sunrise of Dresher was useful. It was nice and clean. The staff was wonderful and they gave me a good tour. I think it was cost-effective so I'm on the right track. I wasn't able to try the food but the menu looks good, and I could see that they have good menu options. They had bingo, puzzles, and stuff. It seems like there are a lot of things for them to do and a lot of activities. I looked at both memory care and assisted living.

My mom moved into Sunrise of Dresher. It's very clean, and very well staffed; that's important. They have plenty of activities, and it seems like it's an open and welcoming place. When she needs help, they're generally pretty prompt in their response time. Sometimes it takes a little longer than other times. It depends on the time of day, if it's a shift change or anything like that. The rooms are very nice. The room that I got for Mom was like one of two in the building that had extra windows. It was very bright and sunny, which is better than the other rooms. Some of the rooms seem a little darker, only because they only have like one window and they're smaller. The food is really good. We actually had Thanksgiving dinner there, and I was blown away. It was very surprising to me. I did not expect it to be that good. The dining area is clean, and an open area, which is nice, and there's lots of windows, so it's very bright. I sat in on one of the activities that was fun. They also have a couple of living rabbits with the group that the residents can hold and play with. They foster the rabbits there until somebody takes them into a permanent home, and then they get more rabbits. One of the tenants also has her dog, which my mom likes to interact with. So, you're going to have a pet there if you can take care of it. It was very clean. I don't have any problems with that. The movie room is inside the activity center, so that's kind of all inclusive. There is a hair salon, but they haven't had that open. I think the hairstylist they have is on maternity leave; they're looking for some other hairstylist. There's not a lot of community areas that the residents can sit in and interact if they want to. I think that's a good value. You get the care level you need for your loved one.

My brother has moved into Sunrise of Dresher. They are very good. I like the people. All the care workers have empathy; they show true concern. They're very caring. They took care of the problems that my brother has. The problems were preexisting that he wasn't aware of. In fact, after the first day, they took him to the hospital, because he needed emergency care, and he wasn't aware of it. He had a large wound from falling at his house a couple of days before he went in, and he didn't feel any pain because he has diabetes. They did wound care, and they're probably still doing it because it was a large gash he wasn't aware of. He knew he had it, but it wasn't hurting him, so he didn't do anything about it. It has a main entrance, there's a receptionist, and it has security. So, you ring the bell and they let you in. It's a very nice-looking building. It makes you feel at home. It is really nice. They have little knickknacks and stuff like that around that makes it feel like a house, and not that you're in a facility. It makes you feel like you're in more of like a home. Very good maintenance. Everything is clean and nice. Nice landscaping. The building looks like it's in great shape. I don't know how old it is, but it looks good.

I had an in-person tour of Sunrise of Dresher. I liked it because it was very friendly and very clean. They seemed very caring. The people there looked content, comfortable, and happy. The staff answered my questions thoroughly. She was very friendly and warm. The food smelled good. They had activities, games, and artwork.

My mother-in-law moved into Sunrise of Dresher. We chose it because of convenience and reputation, and we were familiar with other people who had stayed there who spoke highly of it. They were very attentive throughout the entire process. Even during the Covid protocols, they made sure that she was never alone, always made sure that she had people helping her, and that there were people around her when we were not able to come and visit her. They accommodated our process with moving her in. We were able to set up her room while she was in the Covid room. They are very accommodating, and very nice people. She rants and raves about how delicious the food is, and she says the food is very good. She really enjoys her meals. What really stood out was the concierge service that they provide. There's always somebody there at the front desk at the ready. As soon as she walked into the facility, they put a call button around her neck. They told her if she ever needs anything or if she can't find somebody, to hit the button. Somebody will come and assist her. She always has that. They took her picture, and they sent us a weblink so that we can get updates on her without actually even making a phone call. We could just log in, and they're available for updates. We could also see how she's doing. It is just really a very good experience so far. The place is clean, convenient, nice, and beautiful. They provide her with a list of activities every week that she can participate in. And as far as my mother-in-law is concerned, they're fine. We've only been there a month, but she has no complaints. I'm happy that she's happy. They provided us with financial incentives to move her in there. They made some accommodations with regards to her room cost. The rest of the places we checked were pretty on par, but Sunrise is a notch above.

Sunrise of Dresher was a nice place, although when we walked in they had an event, so it was very crowded in the lobby. It gave my mom the impression that that's where everybody congregates all the time, and she felt really uncomfortable. We were looking for a place that does not have that nursing center or hospital feeling. She wanted more of a home-like feeling. It's a very nice place, but there were very little parking spaces available for family members. Every person that works there, from the staff to the management, was very friendly. The rooms were adequate and very nice. We visited both the memory care and personal care. They organize things outside the facility so you can get on the bus and go shopping.

My parent lived here & did not receive adequate medical attention as there IS no Dr. on site. The Drs who are 'on-call' do not return phone calls & sometimes are 'not to be disturbed', even during a potential medical emergency (which could have been avoided). Any type of medication change takes days & persistent repeated calls by the patient & family to be enacted. The 'wellness center' is just a desk that is unmanned at night & on weekends. The on-duty nurse was friendly on the 1st day, then apathetic & avoidant when we needed to institute medical changes. The med-techs were overworked, understaffed, often rude. Each resident wears a help pendant but Sunrise is SO understaffed that it took over an hour for the aid to respond on several occasions, my parent called me at home & I called thru the reception desk to get the aid to help. The turnover rate on personal care aides is so high that there are training classes for new aides frequently &the completely inexperienced untrained aids are taken on trial basis into rooms of sick elderly people & they never return. The sales reps also brought potential 'buyers' into private rooms without asking permission. The shared bathrooms have no counter space for toiletries, and nowhere to store dirty shower chairs. The rooms are very sunny (nice) but unless the patient asks, they are not kept clean, ie not vacuumed regularly, not wiped down (sticky staff fingerprints all over surfaces), staff leaves used medical waste on furniture & overflowing in trash cans. The dirty laundry was not washed for 2 weeks in a row & was left stinking next to clean clothing in a closet. Half of my parents' clothing & towels were never returned after the laundry was washed. I had to keep buying new clothing to replace what went missing every week. The residents who are healthy & can walk enjoy eating their meals or sitting lined up in wheelchairs in the dining room, or on the few benches outside. There is a backyard. There is no physical therapy room, 1 shared bathtub per floor, no barber shop. There is NO hospice personnel here as promised & the sales reps overpromise services that do not exist at Sunrise of Dresher. Beds are not included, anything more than simple rent is EXTRA and expensive. Residents are charged different rates for the same services so be forewarned.

Listen to the phone recording while you are on hold. There is not one thing said on the message that is true. For example, when you visit the site, see if the activities listed on the printed schedule are happening. Likely not. Ask about the turnover rate. I would guess 80%. Of course, there are some good staff. But they struggling. Your family member is not safe there.

I couldn't afford Sunrise of Dresher, but I did like it a little bit better than some other places. It had a nicer ambience and it was more spacious. They have more activities and it seemed more interactive. They had more arts and crafts, Bingo, and movies. It seemed like each resident has his/her own team of personal home health aides as well and that seemed good. The rooms were very up-to-date and well decorated. They're classy-looking.

Sunrise of Dresher is a beautiful place, and everybody seems to be taken care of. The only thing about it was that it was very expensive, and right now, we couldn’t afford that amount of money and we were unable to put my mother there. It would have been perfect because it is right around the corner from my house. The rooms are adequate. The dining area is beautiful. If you can afford Sunrise of Dresher, I would recommend it.

Sunrise of Dresher was very clean. The people who greeted us were extremely nice, helpful, and even suggested some moving help for my mother even she didn't live there, which is above and beyond what they needed to do. It was pretty quiet when we went there because it was right after lunch. A lot of the residents were in their rooms, but we did see some people sitting together and talking. They seemed to have very nice activities. The dining room looked nice, and the outdoors were pretty.

Sunrise of Dresher was very nice. It looked like an excellent facility, very clean, and other than the cost, I would rate it as a four. The facility I would rate as a five, but I thought their cost and different fees for different items were high. We saw the rooms and the dining facilities; we got a tour of the whole facility. We did talk to one of their staff and he seemed very amenable and very friendly.

Sunrise of Dresher is geographically well located for the family. The structure of the activities there seemed suitable. The staff was very helpful. The rooms were in good condition. They did offer bus trips. They also have transportation. They have in-house activities.

I was at Sunrise to see my sister-in-law who was there, but she was only there for a couple of months. When she first went in, she was independent; she took care of her own medications. When she started to have them have her medication, it went up like $15 a day. Then when she had a fall, somebody had to be there when she had a shower to watch her. It went up again about $30 a day. It just went up to some outrageous prices. It's like a suite-like type room. The room was spacious with a microwave. They had a restaurant downstairs. She could eat there, or she could go out to eat. I think they had bus trips to go out.
