Marquis Springfield has been around since the '60s, but it has been kept up really nice. I like all the people over there. The staff answered all my questions. I can drop stuff off for my wife and they'll make sure she gets it. It's a very family-oriented place. They have an arboretum there with plants inside. The first time she was there she was in a two-bedroom room with a window to the outside parking lot, and it was quite large. She likes their beds a lot better than the hospital beds, and they have all the bells and whistles for the residents. She can't walk so they would get her out of the bed and into a wheelchair. If you have an appointment with another doctor during the week they'll set all that up with you. I can't go into the community right now, but I can ride with my wife, which is very cheap. All of the staff members are really friendly.

This place is top notch, my wife receives top notch care, I would recommend Marquis to any person who has a need for this type of care.

Call light wait time often more than 30 minutes, and sometimes an hour. PICC line dressing changes done with improper dressing trays, not sealed, leaving patient open to serious infection. Little to no wound care skills among the nursing staff, and improper training done (they believed that when a wound vacuum system in making noise, it is working - not true). "Skilled" nurses few and far between, but the CNA staff were caring. VERY FEW wheelchair accessible restrooms, Food is fair to middlin', but VERY repetitive.

I visited this facility. Many of the C.N.A."s were excellent. The administrator is personable and the D.N.S. is positive. They made a good effort to care for their residents. However, I would not reccomend this facility to your family. Some of the C.N.As deserve my highest respect for the job they do.Take a careful look before you commit.

There was Marquis in Springfield. I would say that the staff is really great, and they seem to have a really great rehab program. But they were the most hospital feeling and the least aesthetically pleasing. It is a nursing home and rehab facility.
