Mom moved to The Springs at Willowcreek. I chose it because it was a smaller community and it had a trained staff of a larger facility. The staff has been there in their positions for years. They have daily activities. They post a menu. The rooms have the same standard size. They have music. They have religious studies for people who are religious. They have games and exercise classes. The food was good.

My husband is currently at another care facility, and I was curious to compare where he currently resides with The Springs at Willowcreek. The outdoor setting is nice, but the owners have not invested in badly-need updates, Where my husband is now is far superior to The Springs, and the cost is similar. Perhaps telling, is that we worked with a placement organization last year when we were deciding the best place for my husband, who took us to three places in Salem, none of which was The Springs. I am sure that the staff is caring, but the facility is just not up to today's standards.

I chose The Woods at Willowcreek for my mom because it was quiet and peaceful. Everybody from the very first staff member that we dealt with, to the girl that takes care of mom, were all very nice. The food is good. My mom is in their memory care unit. They have someone in charge of activities. The girls come in and they cook, there's music, and they have outdoor activities. They are excellent.

The Woods at Willowcreek looked like a really nice place. They take very good care of the residents, and it seemed very homey, warm, and inviting. They were painting, tossing a sandbag, and doing some other crafts in the memory care area. We were really thinking strongly about having my parents go there. The only negative part was the majority of it is memory care and my mom may need memory care here soon, but my dad isn't quite ready for that. He would have to be in a different location, which is a few blocks away. The staff seemed extremely warm, loving, and caring. In some places you can have memory care, assisted living, and independent living all in the same location, but they don't have that available.

We didn't care for The Woods at Willowcreek. The bathroom and windows were not particularly clean. The Formica had places where it was chipped, and there was a sharp corner on the edge of the sink. It just didnt seem like a good place. The staff was very nice and the person who showed us around was very pleasant. We didn't stay very long since we weren't happy with the accommodations. I just don't think the place was satisfactory. It should have been cleaner. They said the room they showed us had a nice view, but the view was of the parking lot and the window was dirty.

Mom has only been at The Woods at Willowcreek for about a year and a half now. It's a little different because the food is prepared in one of the other buildings and they bring a cart over and set the dining room up. There's only about a dozen people that live in that building. They took her electric wheelchair away from her because she was causing problems with it. She parked her chair next to the wall and when she tried to get out of there, she gouged big holes into the wall of her room. Then she got into places in the dining room where she couldn't get out of, so they took it away from her. She doesn't get around very good with a walker in her own room, but that's what she's got. The dining area is like a big living room. When it's not being used as a dining area, it's got tables and chairs, and the residents play cards and that type of thing. It's open, and there's a fireplace at the one end of it where the couches and the TV are. It's like a common room. There is a small kitchen, but it's not used to prepare hot food. They have drinks and fruits. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They're always clean and it's a multi-building facility, which are all one level. They do the exercises in the dining area. It's a pretty nice place.

The Woods at Willowcreek was very clean and the people were very nice. It tends to be more for memory care. The residents were in the gathering area and people were coming in and out, picking up an orange or an apple, or going out to sit on the deck with friends. It had a very friendly and homey atmosphere. The grounds were gorgeous. They had maintenance people clipping hedges, cleaning, and getting ready for the summer. The location was good, it was easy to find. It's close to a shopping area if you want to go to the store. The lady I spoke to was amazing. She was very knowledgeable about what they could and could not do, which was wonderful.

My mother was an independent resident of The Springs at Sunnyview, a sister facility of The Woods, from October 2010 until May 2014, when it became apparent that she required assistance on a day-to-day basis. The transition from one facility to the other was smooth and went without a hitch. The staff at The Woods were ready with her room and immediately took charge of my mother. It made me feel very comfortable and put me at ease. Her stay only lasted about 5 months in assisted living when it became apparent that she needed additional attention, so she was moved to the memory care house. Again, the transition was seamless. In the beginning, because of her condition, it was difficult for her to adapt. However, the staff was patient and caring, and she soon felt very much at ease. I visited my mother a few times each week, and when I entered her building each time, a lot of the residents recognized me and said hello. I became very close to the staff as well. I was able to observe meal times, play times, exercise times, sing-alongs, rest times, and bed times. At special events, my mother, who loved to dance, would be approached by the Director and asked to dance. She loved those times! She always felt that the bands were playing just for her. My mother passed away in March 2016, and right up until that time, there was nothing but love and care for her those 1-1/2 years in memory care. I felt that everyone from maintenance to kitchen staff to care providers to office workers to the Director had special places in their hearts for my mom. Occasionally I stop by The Woods to say "hi" to whomever is working at the time, and it always feels like the first time we met, with enthusiasm and respect. The Woods is definitely a top-notch care facility in my books!

The Woods at Willowcreek was small and relatively inexpensive. It was very well staffed and everyone appeared friendly. The atmosphere was fine, the rooms were of a good size for one person, and the grounds were clean.

If you are looking for a nice, homey setting with truly caring, loving staff, this is the place for you. They are so patient with their residents, provide excellent care and activities, and work closely with you to make sure your loved one's needs are met. I could not have been happier to have found this facility and to have my mom live there.

this care home is privately owned, the employees have been there for many years, no bad smells, super clean and extremely caring staff. We removed my father from a corporate care home that was just horrible! He is so well cared for and a home atmosphere.
