My father is staying at Gateway Gardens. It's an excellent home. It's very spacious, level, and clean. The staff is very kind and very attentive. They have music, they go to church, there's reading, and painting. They were having an Easter celebration when we were there last. The food is excellent. They cook there in the facility and the food is presentable and looks appetizing.

I had a family member stay here before suffering an hip fracture resulting in death. Falls are not unheard with the elderly and dementia but five falls during a gait belt transfer should not happen. Care staff has some great caring people but as a whole understaffed and lack proper training.

The memory care part of the Gateway Gardens was kind of enclosed and dreary. I was not impressed. They had to share a bedroom with a person, and I could not imagine my husband sharing a bedroom with somebody. It was a locked down situation. They had a walkway that people could walk on that went into an open patio, but the grounds were not too inviting. It was not awful. It just was small and kind of confining. The rooms seemed pretty small and not too bright. My daughter looked at me and I looked at her and I said: “Oh my God! Let’s leave.”

My mom was here for almost two years before passing and my family still sings the praises of the facility and staff. They took such great care of mom that we had complete peace of mind. I can't recommend it enough! Even with her Alzheimer's she was always smiles!

This is never and easy thing to discuss or undertake. As hard as it is on ourselves it's even harder on those being moved in. This facility made the process as seamless and painless as possible. The staff was always courteous and professional. You can tell that the people who work here care about what they do. It shows in everything they do there. The campus was always clean and tidy. It felt safe. Safe from outsiders and I felt that my grandmother would be safe there as well. The staff was always accommodating during visits. I never felt rushed or judged. Of the few care facilities I have been to I found that this was easily the best. The food, the staff, the facility, everything was top notch. If I had to do it again I would not hesitate (more so than one normally does in these situations) to move someone I love and care for in to Gateway Assisted Living.
