My mom went to live in Evergreen Memory Care. So far, it's been a good place and the people are nice. She's having sociable people in her housing, so everything so far is good. It is a little expensive, but the care is very good. Though I think it was more expensive for her care needs.

I went to tour Evergreen Memory Care. I was in and out quickly. I remember the facility was nice and clean. They didn't have a spot at that point, so I don't remember too much about it other than that, but it looked like a nice place. There was just one person during the tour, and she was very helpful and gave me a good tour. It looked relatively new. It was built to be a facility and it was nice. The people seemed nice. It looked inviting.

We went to Evergreen Memory Care. My mom likes to walk and they have a lot of space around where she could walk. Unfortunately, we weren't able to meet with anyone to do a specific tour. The gal was out, so it was just the front office gal who gave us a bit of a tour, so we didn't get as much information as we wanted, but it was good to kind of see what the place looked like. We liked how it worked. Being there, we just realized we weren't quite ready for that move. The staff member took the time, even though she was supposed to be sitting at the front desk to walk us through and gave as much information as she had. We were very pleased with her. We liked how they had smaller groups of people in little communities for the dining and all that. I think that is a positive, especially for people with memory care issues. The people that live there were wandering around, but not like people weren't watching them. They had freedom to move if they wanted, and some were just sitting around. We had one gentleman we watched and he made a route several times. He was walking inside because it was raining outside, so he couldn't get out. They're active. They were walking some people around for physical therapy. We really liked it. We wish we had been able to meet with the gal that does the actual touring, but she wasn't in that day. I believe they had a salon. There was a gal getting ready to do some physical therapy with some residents who were sitting in chairs in the little area. She was very, very kind with them. A couple of them didn't want to, so she was like, "OK, you don't have to do that today if you don't want to, but we'll be back in five minutes and we'll start doing this."

The reason we thought of settling on Evergreen Memory Care for my wife is that it's close to where we're at right now and we're familiar with the neighborhood. The memory care in the facility where we're at right now also has a larger quantity of people and we needed more stimulation, both mental and physical. We can get that at Evergreen. I have viewed the area and the facility twice and it looks very nice and promising. I've also heard good things about it. I didn't see much of the staff because we're going from room to room, but the ones I saw were very polite, well-dressed, and confident or they wouldn't be there. I didn't speak with them but Brandy, I think she's in charge of the memory care during the day, was very nice, very knowledgeable, and very pleasant.

What attracted me to Evergreen Memory Care was that it's faith-based. My mom is a strong Christian, and I appreciate that they have church service and Bible study there. The other things that I like about it are the activities, being a secure place, and that she'll have a private room. It's also clean and spacious. When I visited, the staff were engaged with the residents. They have high tea on Saturdays, which my mom loves, and they have a nice courtyard where they can go out. Their walkways were wide, too. It was just clean and open with high ceilings and well-planned grounds.

I liked the layout of Evergreen Memory Care and the fact that the apartments were all individual. I toured with Brandy, their community relations officer, and she was wonderful and was very helpful. Just the way she interacted with us, as well as the residents, was nice to see. The facility was nice, clean, and everybody was well taken care of. The other residents that I saw looked happy. I had a quick hello with some of the other staff, and they were all nice too.

My husband is at Evergreen Memory Care. The facilities are quite nice, and they are very professional for the most part during the week. but right now, they're having difficulty with staff shortages on the night shift and weekends. It was a little bit rocky getting started, though I don't have a lot of bad things to say about them, especially the staff who work during the week, since they are very good and very professional -- they were fine. They're hiring right now, which they need to be. It is fairly new, facility-wise. It's well planned out, and there are all levels of care there. They have memory care, assisted living, and all other levels in the same big complex. They had activities during the pandemic, which had made everything difficult. You have to be a little spendy. You have to pay a little for all the extras if you want extras.

Brookdale Eugene Alpine Court was undergoing renovation. Their earliest acceptance was a month to six weeks out from the point I talked with them. The person who was scheduled to give me a tour canceled the morning of the tour. It was rescheduled, and then when I had the tour, it was not by the right person. Other facilities contacted me immediately, but this one did not get back to me for a week. It seems to be an overload of the administrative things or problems that they need to deal with. The facilities and the dining area looked good and clean. Their layout, building structure, and everything was very appealing. I liked the size of the rooms that were available. They were quite functional, so that was not an issue. The staff I came in contact with was friendly and nice.

My grandmother and I chose Brookdale because it’s very nice, very clean, and has a friendly staff. My grandmother has a private, corner room with a shared bathroom. The rooms are pretty big, and hers is beautiful inside. Her room faces the courtyard where the residents can go out in and enjoy -- it’s perfect. They have a chef, which is very nice and prepares three-course meals for dinner. They have activities, including taking residents out for drives.

The eating area was well-lit and very large. They had kind of a set schedule for the meals, but that was more choices as far as dinners and stuff like that. The rooms were nice and clean, and the staff seemed to be friendly and very receptive in giving information. They have anything from assisted living to where they had little condos that somebody could rent if they can take care of themselves -- they just came in and clean the rooms -- and the meals were fixed for you, all the way up to a memory care facility. So if they needed that, they can be transferred over to that. They have activities, field trips, and all kinds of stuff, and it is all included in the costs. The rooms are pretty roomy. There is a clinic just across the parking lot and kind of a mini mall just about half a mile away. They have gardens and everything that the residents can go gardening if they wanted to. I just took my mom over to Brookdale and let her kind of look around. She ate in there and seemed to enjoy it, she had a good time, and this is where she wanted to go, so this is where we moved her.

The Emeritus at Alpine Campus was a pretty facility. It was newer and attractive, but it was indifferent. It was cold. When we walked in to talk to someone we've made an appointment with that person wasn't there, and they finally got someone to talk to us. We were in a very pretty entry way with terrible acoustics. They were meeting with someone else and we could barely hear each other. The individual behind the counter never gave us eye contact and didn't do anything. They finally gave us a little tour of the facility. We walked the entire facility and we never saw any employee engaging with a resident. We were not excited by the facility even though it's pretty. It's nice and the rooms are nice, but I was looking for who's going to take care of my mom. They need to train their people better on how to either sell or engage someone coming in. They need to ask better questions as to what it is you expect from the facility. They need to have enough employees going on, so that when you tour the facility, you actually see some interaction between employee and residents.

Alpine courts Is an amazing facility. I am very glad that we decided to place my grandmother there. This facility didnt used to be very good, but since there are new owners I am very happy. My grandmother seems to like it there. This is a dementia and alzhiemers care facility only, so there are alot of educational and interactive activities. The staff here are very caring, and they go out of thier way to make the residents happy. One of the care takers that is there goes out of her way to take residents on walks, and talk to them. Each resident has their own private apartment, with a bathroom that they share with another resident. Corner apartments are bigger, and they have their own bathrooms. The meals at this facility are good as well. The meals seem to be well balanced with desert as well. The staff are more than willing to dish up a "family" plate so I can dine with my grandmother. I would say that Alpine courts Is definatly a place that you should look into!
