Stoneybrook Assisted Living is very nice and very attractive. They have very nice staff. My wife is there now. It's like a nice hotel. The staff are very friendly. They're in a COVID lockdown now, so they take the meals to the room. They have a lovely dining room they can't use right now, but the food there was very good. They have the standard games that you would expect. There are a few field trips. There's a beauty salon but no pool. The room is OK. My wife doesn't have a separate bedroom, but it's L-shaped, and there's a place where the bed is kind of out of the way, and there's a nice living area and a little kitchen area.

My mom lives in Stoneybrook Assisted Living, which is pretty nice. They have independent care and also assisted care. It's well-maintained, my mom's apartment is spacious, and they have a large dining room. They used to have a lot of activities going on before COVID, but lately, it's been pretty scarce. It's set up in a residential area where they can walk around the nice neighborhood. They seem to have staffing issues, which is common in the senior care industry. For two years, the pricing has been comparable to the other facilities in the area. She's generally happy there. It seems like the food quality is not what it used to be, and the staffing in the dining room is also not what it used to be. The activities also are affected by staffing. It's one of the better communities in the area, but it was better once you moved in two years ago.

My mother moved into Stoneybrook Assisted Living. We chose it because of proximity to my own home, level of care, quality of the facility, and professionalism of the staff, and the caregivers. She's at the highest level of care. The facility was very nice, clean, and homelike. It's very large and spacious. The rooms were very nice and bright, and there is lots of sunlight. The outdoors are very nice with manicured lawns. They have a lot of activities available. She's going to the tulip farm this Friday, they have outings, bingo, movies and popcorn, yoga, gardening, and painting.

The food is not "gourmet" type food. If there are "chefs", they need more training. The food is over-cooked, very poorly presented and does not taste good. Beverages and salads stay the same. Portions are "one size fits all" even though offered in small to regular sized plates. Have witnessed one "wait person" serving potato chips from the bag onto residents' plates at tables wearing NO gloves which goes against Food Service handlers' regulations. Nutritionally, there is very little "fresh" food and the nutrients are next to nill. Some of the now new staff appear to be caring and attentive. Others are there for the paycheck. While the residents appear to be attended to, their dispositions for the most part are not up-beat. Beautiful buildings, depressive feeling. While some residents would like to speak their minds about their views, they are afraid to. Staff (including a nurse) working at Stoneybrook for a long time were the better persons for the job, but "let go" had been there a long time because of budget issues which caused many residents to cry. Their absense is felt to this day. The person who does hair does not do men's hair, at least not well. Summarizing. Looks can be deceiving. Corporate seems out of touch with the real and practical needs over trying to "save a buck".

Stoneybrook do a lot more specific care planning between the patients and their staff that seemed to be a little bit more targeted care. It’s a very nice facility and fairly new. Maintenance and appearance of the grounds were very well.

Stoneybrook is a lovely setting; it's beautiful. We went up there to have lunch, which was lovely. Everyone was very friendly. I had a very nice lunch, and then we went to see the apartments. I was disappointed in the size of their apartments, and I would not be there for that reason; they're just too small. Besides, I can't afford it.

The apartments at Stoneybrook were large and nice. The employees seemed happy working there. They have a lot of activities going on. I wasn't impressed with the food. It wasn't that good. I spoke with a couple of people that lived there. They said that unless I can take full care of myself, I should not go there. They added that sometimes it took a long time to get help.

My mother-in-law, was living in a retirement community, but need additional care that she could not provide for herself so after checking out several facilities we moved her to the Stoneybrook Assisted Living facility. We found the facility to be very well kept, well lit and had large open spaces. The facility is beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and artwork. The hallways are wide and accommodating for persons that needed walkers or wheel chairs. Elevators are available in several locations and nursing staff are available 24 hours a day. Three meals are provided daily in a large community dining room, with lots of glass windows and skylights. There is a game room and several libraries available. There is also a large community room available for families and large parties. Each resident or couple, have their own apartment where they can have their own furniture and belongings. Services may be added as needed by resident care levels. For example, help with showering and dressing could be added for an additional fee. Each apartment also has an emergency communication system; one in the bathroom and one in the living quarters. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and viewable from each hallway, apartment and the dining area. Free shuttle service is also provided for residents to use for shopping, banking and church services. The facility has alarmed doors, but if a person has dementia or is suffering from Alzheimers and wanders, this is not the facility for them as it is not secured from the inside to keep residents from exiting.

After searching for about three months my family decided on Stoneybrook Assisted living in Corvallis, Oregon. They offer different facilities in their community: Retired living, assisted living, and a nursing home. My aunt resides in their assisted living facility. Their facility is set up some what oddly in my opinion with the main building being in dead center of retirement community, rather then being on an outskirt and easy to find. The staff is utterly amazing. My family is constantly making trips to see my aunt, and the entire staff knows us by name. The chief and dining staff work wonders; I've never heard my aunt complain about the food served. The management is interesting, they are not my favorite people as it seems they constantly have a new onsite manager. Over all though they'll continue to have my recommendation.

This is a beautiful place with many quality services. The administrator and assistant administration has a little attitude problem, and she sometimes makes visits unpleasant. However my grandmother says she's loved every moment of living there. She's made friends with both other people living there and the staff. She says you never feel like you are alone. I am so appreciative of all the love she receives here and I would recommend the Stoneybrook Assisted Living to everyone.

Assisted living at Stonybrook is more than just assisted living. I feel like the staff is really knowledgeable and kind. They also have great services and amenities for the folks living there. My uncle tells me that he really loves the other people who live there and it's great that they take care of him. The facilities are really clean and bright and make it a very homey feeling. I understand the importance of meal time and I know that they hit the nail right on the head with meals; they seem to be great! I've shared a few meals with him there and comfort food tastes very homemade! One time when I visited him, his direct caregiver was kind enough to give me an overview of the entire facility included a short guided tour, a meal, and made me feel right at home even though I was just visiting.

As a private, in home elder care provider, sometimes a client of mine reaches a point in their life when part time care will no longer fit their needs, and assisted living is the best option. I've worked for several individuals and couples living in the Stony Brook independent living community in Corvallis, Oregon. The homes and grounds are manicured and absolutely lovely. There is an active social network, opportunities for both private and public transportation, and facilities ready and able to cater to the changing levels of care needed by aging residents. Stony Brook offers one of the nicest assisted care facilities I have ever seen, not only is the standard of physical care very high but the amenities offered are amazing. Residents who have moved into the assisted care lodge can enjoy chef prepared meals in a restaurant setting, a private library of regular, audio and large print books that are constantly rotated through Benton County's library system, a fully staffed beauty salon and barber shop in house, and a community bus (fully handicapped equipped) to chauffer them to both on and off campus activities. This is the short list. The staff is friendly and attentive while still giving residents a sense of dignity and privacy. When a resident moves up to a more monitored level of care they do so seamlessly to make the transition comfortable for both the resident and their families. I've visited several of my former clients who have transitioned to the assisted care facility and every one of them seems content and as well attended as they were under my own care. For me, that is very important. You can't help but develop an emotional relationship with people you have cared for. Knowing they continue to be happy and content well into the last of their golden years is priceless.

I was visiting Stoneybrook because I am an in home care assistant and I was taking care of a resident at this facility. The facility was well-equipped with safety features, including pull-cords in the bathrooms that would sound alarms when pulled. The rooms were small, but had good amenities. The residents all seemed happy, and when I joined them for supper, the food looked and smelled good. The only complaint I have is that it seemed short-staffed. When I pressed a button for help, the employees took 5 minutes to get there. I was impressed with the fully equipped salon and library, as well as the exercise equipment. This was a clean, bright, pretty facility.
