I placed my mom in the Primrose Retirement Community of Shawnee. They have been awesome. Everyone there is just so welcoming and friendly, and they give my mom so much attention. All of them from the CNAs and up are just wonderful. I just can't say enough about them. From what my mom said, the food is really good. It's not gourmet or anything like that, but it's very high quality and there's a big variety. They have so many activities and every day they're doing something. They have a movie night every night because they have a little theater there. They do crafts too and they do outings to different places. They're wonderful. She has a 1-bedroom apartment and it's nice. It's very spacious for a one-bedroom too. She's in a wheelchair and using a walker, and there's room for her to move about. It's nice. She's in their assisted living.

Primrose Retirement Community of Shawnee was very clean and the apartments were beautiful. The director was very nice and you could tell he cared about the people. They sent us a little cherry pie to go for each of us, and it was delicious. They had a theater room for the residents, a coffee bar, a beauty shop, and a fitness center some of them would use. It was expensive, but it was very nice.

I went to visit Primrose Retirement Community of Shawnee. The people were very nice and the facilities were very nice, I appreciated all of that. But I wish they told me up front how much it was going to be per month and they wouldn't do that. They said I have to come into the facility and all that, which I did, then they said it's $3000 a month. They said they had movies a couple of days a week and they had popcorn up there and stuff. It was nice but I just couldn't do it. They showed me the dining room and they showed me the apartment, they were very nice. They offered that I could try the food if I could come earlier than what I had scheduled, but I just couldn't make it in time. The staff that gave the tour was very nice, the cost was just too high. I thought it was well-maintained. She told me that they had a library, I saw the dining area and the apartments, and the overall look of the place was very nice.

We chose Primrose Retirement Community of Shawnee because it was the best one we found, the villa had lots of room in it, and my son lives in Shawnee. We are planning to move there in May. The layout and designs were phenomenal, they are easy to get to, and everything is clean, nice, and bright. It also smells just like a regular place. We saw their independent living during our visit. We sampled a meal and it was wonderful.

Both of my parents are living in Primrose Retirement Community of Shawnee. My dad likes the size of the independent apartment. I wasn't able to try the food, but I like the fact that they have their everyday specials. They also have the option to order something else, if they don't want that. They have a lot of menus to order from. They also have a lot of activities on the premises. They have daily movie showings, bridge, and card games. They also have a billiards room. They even have different people that will come in to talk to. Indeed, they always have something going on every day. The staff is very friendly too. I am really impressed with the overall experience so far.

I looked at Primrose. I liked it. They had two kinds of services. One was they served one meal, clean once a week, and that kind of thing. Then, they also had assisted living, when you needed more attention. They had one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. They offered transportation services, and they had a lot of activities there.

Primrose is all topnotch -- the workers, the facility, and the care my mother-in-law is getting. I like the friendliness of the patients as well as the staff. She has a small one-bedroom, which is very nice -- just right. The food is fine, and she is satisfied with it. There are a lot of other amenities that she likes. There is a courtyard, public rooms, and gathering rooms. She is very happy with all of that. She is participating in activities when she is able.

We’ve been in Primrose about 2 ½ months. I couldn’t ask for any place to be better. It had the things that we required. We have 2 little dogs; we had to be able to bring those. We were able to get a 2-bedroom apartment and the cost was reasonable. It’s wonderful. My only complaint is the food. It has very good entertainment and good community activities. They have trips to go to different places. Today, they went to a Christmas bazaar thing that was in Oklahoma City. Sometimes, if there is good entertainment out at one of the casinos, they will go there. We go out to some of the restaurants for lunch. They have scheduled games. This afternoon, they had an ice cream social. Every day, you get a little notification on your door of what the activities are for that day.

Shawnee Primrose seems really nice. My relatives who were staying there have very positive comments about the treatment, the facility, and the care that the nurses and staff have provided. It was very positive, nothing negative whatsoever. The rooms were really nice, and everything was freshly painted. It's a brand new facility, so everything was in good shape. I give them an excellent rating.

When I went to look at Primrose Retirement, they were in the middle of finishing their building. It looked like a very clean environment and a very hands-on facility. I would feel comfortable with my father there. The rooms are nice. They have nurses on staff 24 hours a day. They have a chapel, a movie theater with movie theater seats and popcorn, a library, and they have shuttle bus that would take them to museums or outings. It's pretty awesome.
