About Eden Care of North Edmond in Edmond, Oklahoma

Eden Care's Assisted Living Homes offer the comfort and familiarity of a traditional family home combined with 24-hour assistance with all activities of daily living provided by skilled caregivers. Best of all, Eden Care Homes limits occupancy to only 5 residents!

Because Eden Care Homes are traditional family homes, they more closely resemble the resident's own home, enabling the person to adapt more easily and empowering our caregivers to provide a level of person-centered care that is difficult to achieve in larger settings. The residents and caregivers get the opportunity to really get to know and enjoy the companionship of one another, forming a close knit "family". All "family members" contribute to the home's daily routine and a household rhythm based on the individual needs and preferences of all naturally develops.

    I visited this facility

What a wonderful concept! We were looking for a place for my mother-in-law who was in a larger assisted living facility and not fairing well. A good friend recommended Eden Care to us. The owner, who is a Registered Nurse, was very accommodating and even gave us our tour on a Saturday to accommodate our schedule! This impressed me right away. Meeting the owner was not an option at the place she was living or any of the other places we visited and very few offered tours on the weekend. We looked at the home in Edmond and Oklahoma City and both were very well done. The decor was upscale, yet very comfortable. There was nothing institutional about the homes. The staff was very hospitable and seemed to pay close attention to the people. There were no bad smells lingering in the air, unlike some of the places we toured. Actually, the whole place smelled like lavender! The owner explained that they have an aroma therapy program and use natural oils in the homes. I will say that the monthly fees were slightly higher than some of the other places we looked. But, we expected that, given the setting. Also, Eden Care's fees included a lot more than most - they even provided depends! The owner explained that their staff to resident ratios are much higher than a typical facility, which allowed them to give each person more personalized care. Because of this and everything they include in their fees, it costs them more to care for each person. It would have been well worth it to us! But, unfortunately, we started looking too late. My mother-in-law went on hospice the following week and passed away before we were able to move her to Eden Care. I wish we would have known about it sooner. It makes me sad thinking about how much better the last few months of her life could have been.

    I visited this facility

I felt immediately at home from the moment I walked through the front door of the Eden Care Home in Edmond! It literally feels like you are walking into your own home (that is, after the housekeeper has been there). Not at all like a facility! In fact, we had trouble finding it the first time. It just looks like a regular house. The staff is very friendly and seemed to be very attentive to the people living there. It is evident that they get to know them very well. But, I guess you would with only five people living there. The owner is a RN, which I think, makes a big difference – especially with regard to quality of the care. The decor is elegant, yet very homey and comfortable. Her attention to detail and knowledge and love of seniors is apparent throughout. The house is on an acreage and the property is really beautiful with lots of mature trees. The main living room has these huge windows that overlook the backyard and you almost feel like you are outdoors. They have a big covered patio and actually installed a paved walking trail in the backyard. So, the people are able to go outdoors, even if they need a wheelchair or walker. They also have some raised planters for gardening – which was one of my Grandma’s favorite things! I was very disappointed that there were no openings when we toured. At the time, they were in the process of opening another place in Oklahoma City. Unfortunately, the timing didn't work out for us. So, if they have an opening, consider yourself very fortunate.
