My mom is at Legend at Jefferson's Garden. We love it. I like the size of it; it's not too small and not too big. It is very easy for my mom to go around. The people there are very caring. They have social get-togethers, crafts, and trips, and my mom likes the outings. They also play games like bingo. The grounds are wonderful. They have a small pond outside where they can feed the ducks or they can sit outside. The rooms have wonderful floorplans. It is one of the assisted living places that have a separate living area, a bedroom, and a nice big closet in the rooms. The layout is just fantastic. Once a month they have family night and everybody's families come for dinner.

They were having lunch when we visited Legend at Jefferson's Garden with a couple of the different residents. They all recommended it. They all said they were happy there. The dining area setup seemed a little dim to me. I'd like to see more lighting or brighter, cheerier decor. It seemed just a little bit dark. It's just my personal preference. I prefer light and airy. As other people get older they need brighter lighting to see good.

I toured Legend at Jefferson's Garden. I thought the facility was very nice. It was clean. They had all the amenities that I would be looking for, and the staff seemed very genuinely nice, so I liked that one a lot. They had a hair salon. They had a very nice dining area where they served the meals. If you couldn't go to the dining area, then they would bring it to you, and I like that. It was a well-laid-out facility. The staff who showed me around was very knowledgeable and she answered all my questions. She's a young professional. I was very impressed with what she knew all that she did. She was great.

We liked the staff at Legend at Jefferson's Garden. We liked that they had kind of a welcome committee. I liked the activities they had and the facility was clean and well staffed. The apartments looked fine. They weren't tiny or spacious. They had more hands-on craft kind of things. Half of the rooms were on one side, half of the rooms on the other with a great room in between. I didn't see any of the exercise stuff, but that room encompasses kind of a formal living room down there and their dining room and some of their staff offices I think. It was one of our favorites.

I went to the Legend at Jefferson's Garden. I liked that it was small, with only 30 or 35 residents. It was very small, but that was just assisted living. The staff was friendly and seemed very attentive. One main thing I didn't like about that was if a resident didn't go to the dining room for their meals, it cost $12 a meal to deliver to the room. That could add up fast. It seemed very, very clean, and there was no odor. There was no courtyard, it just had a porch out in the back, or a patio. They had a library which looked very nice.

We liked Legend at Jefferson's Garden. It felt warm and welcoming. It was very comfortable. The facilities were nice. We liked everything about it, except they didn't have any transportation. They have the same amenities. The layout was great. Everything is built more where the common areas are centrally located. It's a much better layout. We had one person who walked us through, and she was very nice. The staff was fine.

I moved my mom here after a fall prevented her from returning to her independent living apartment. I visited several assisted living facilities and chose Legend at Jefferson's Garden because it had nearly everything I was looking for: a warm, welcoming atmosphere, excellent food, caring staff, transportation, and easily navigable hallways and floorplans. My only complaint is the storage in the kitchenette: all upper cabinets which my wheelchair-bound mom can't access. Good news is that the staff is always happy to retrieve any items she needs. Any concerns I've had have always been promptly addressed and my mom is so happy to be living here - she thanks me constantly for finding a home for her that she loves! She is especially happy with the food - she was very unhappy with the food at her previous independent living community and she raves about the quality of her meals at Legend. Happy mom = happy daughter.

We moved my 89-year old mom here after a bad experience at a larger facility nearby and we love it. The staff is friendly and caring, and the facility is cheerful and home-like. We love that it is all on one floor and easy to get around. The size is small enough to insure personal attention but big enough to provide variety. We looked at many places for mom's first move to Independent Living and then this move to Assisted Living and we are sure we made the best choice with Jefferson's Gardens. It's not too fancy but not too plain...it's very home-like and livable. The high roof with clerestory windows provides lots of natural light so that it feels like a little village inside...the doors are decorated like a street-scape. The apartment floorpan is very well designed for practicality and maneuverability. We know all the staff by name and they all know my mom by name and are extremely helpful with whatever she needs. Mom has improved both physically and mentally since her move and is VERY happy here . Thank you Care.com for suggesting that we look at Jefferson's Garden!

Legend at Jefferson's Garden's rooms were much too small for us. They had activities, an activities director, an exercise room, a parlor, and a sitting room. The dining area was good, but nothing exceptional. The staff was friendly and informative.

I liked Legend at Jefferson's Garden a lot. I thought it was a great environment and a very well-kept facility. It was a little bit smaller than the others and all on one floor. The rooms were very homey, so it wouldn’t be a big transition to go from where my mom is at now to living there. It was very quiet and very peaceful. They had lots of little sitting areas that felt like you were in your own house. I really liked the staff. They were very in tune with what was going on. They were very knowledgeable about the facility and the activities and knew all the people who lived there. They had a lot of activities for the people to do and buses that would take them to different places if they needed to go. I felt like this was the number one experience that I had out of all the places I went to.

My father was a resident until an employee ran in to knocking him to the floor while he was walking the hall in his walker. He broke his femur and Legends tried to cover up the facts of the incident. They refused to release his medical records to the family (even with power of attorney) while he was hospitalized and the director told us Legend's corporate attorney instructed him not to release anything. They also told my father he would have to pay full rate for his room while in hospital even though their employer caused the fall ( and she afmitted it!) My father's injury ( required major surgery) was so bad he has not been able to walk as well again. He is basically wheel chair bound now, Legends has good PR but don't put your loved one here- there are many other places that will give appropriate care and take responsibility for errors,

The place was too much like a nursing home to me. The rooms were way too small, and all they had was the one-bedroom -- which was just like one big open room -- and I knew my parents wouldn’t be happy enough. It was fine, but to me it seemed like it was more suited to people who had more health problems or were a little less mobile than my parents. Jefferson Gardens was a very nice place, but I knew they would not be happy because they’re more mobile. At some point, they might need to be there, but that’s not where they needed to be now. The lady was very nice, and she seemed to know everybody who lived there, but again it was a smaller place compared to where my parents are now, and it’s too far from me.

What I like about Legend at Jefferson's Garden is that it's small. My doctor's dad is there, so I had someone to talk to find out how they felt about it it. The people there are very friendly, and it's very clean. My parents have been there for six weeks, and they like it. I don’t know of all of the activities because I am not there, but they do bingo, crafts, and outings. They also supply transportations to doctors' visits. They have a chef that cooks their meals, and the food is good. I am very pleased with it all.
