My mother-in-law moved to BeeHive Homes of Broken Arrow. What I like best is the care that's provided by everybody that we've met who works there. They're just great. They're caring and they know us. It's very personable. What I like least about it is just the links to the facility. It takes a long time to walk from one end to the other end because my mother-in-law is on the far end of the front door. So we have to walk the furthest distance to get to her. The staff is very caring. They care and they know the residents. The food smells great. The cleanliness is very good. It does not smell bad there. They take the trash out of the rooms. The things are tidy, and the building, I believe, is relatively new. It's in very good shape. I don't see where any repairs or anything needs to be fixed. They just hired a new activities coordinator this past week. This lady has already put out an activity schedule through an email to let everybody know what activities will be going on for October. I think the room size is just the right size and the layout is, I think very efficient. It has a large bathroom with secure seating in the shower area. It's safe.

Beehive is very recently remodeled, and the facility is clean. The rooms are large with separate bathrooms and small closets. The food always looked appealing. They have a lot of staffing issues. Not just caregivers, but their management staff (director and Nurse) change often. During the six months we used this facility, there were at least three Nurses and four Directors. There were quite a few times when caregivers were brought in from a staffing service. They did try to keep the residents busy.

BeeHive Homes of Broken Arrow was really clean and it looks like the residents were being taken care of. The atmosphere seemed quiet, they had good-sized rooms with lots of space for furniture, and you can move around in them like regular apartments. The staff that I met took me around, she didn't do anything else.

I didn't have a very good impression with BeeHive Homes of Broken Arrow. There was no one there to meet us. There was just a young man that had never given a tour before. He just took us to a room, closed the door on us, and went to get some brochures and stuff to give us. It felt like it wasn't really a tour at all. The rooms were very small, and they have the capacity of 22 residents. It was laid out alright, but they had the memory care and the regular care all in one place. They did not have a separate facility for memory care. Everybody was just sitting around in the dining area and watching TV, which didn't look like they were having activities or anything going on. I only met two staff members. The young man who showed us to one room, and then another staff member came up to talk to him and tell him when I asked how many residents there were. She came and told him what to say. That is the only communication I had with any of the staff. It was originally scheduled for 12:30 PM, but I got a call the night before asking if we could come later because that was at their lunch time. It was so busy that it would be better if we rescheduled to a later hour. So we went there about 1:30 PM, and I don't know if that got communicated to someone who was supposed to be there to show us the room. We didn't find out anything about the activities and what else was available. We just saw an empty room, and that was it.

The owner will answer all of your questions. If she doesn't have the answer, she will find out and let you know ASAP. Each of the staff are extremely qualified in taking care of my Mom. Very attentive to her needs. Notices immediately if something isn't "just right". They engage my Mom in drawing, coloring, dexiterity motions; exercise by encouraging her to walk or go outside as the weather permits. They are right beside her. The facility is brand new and some things you see at other properties are not available yet; however with the staff meeting needs, your loved one will not miss a thing. Very open, beautiful and clean. All staff are very kind and know how to redirect my Mom (she has vascular dementia). I feel very safe leaving my Mom. With the COVID 19 they are practicing all CDC guidelines and take special are that Mom knows I'm still close by. If you are looking for a place where kindness is in abundance, you will find it at The BeeHive!
