We chose Merit House Senior Community because it was a VA-related facility, and it was recently renovated. It has been a good experience so far. The nurses are pleasant. The food is regular hospital food, but it's a good place. They are attentive to my dad. They followed our wishes and they allowed my puppy to come in. So, they have been nice and accommodating. They also followed the directives the doctors gave. The floors are nice and clean. You see the people waxing the floors and cleaning them. There's no bad smells like most nursing homes have. It's a pretty decent facility.

My mother was here. All of her jewelry and her expensive hearing aids were stolen. I had to pay cash which totally broke us as a family. Only to find insurance would have covered it but they didnt report my moms illness. That is because if you pay cash it is right around 7 grand a month and insurance will only pay 3 grand. One sad place just out for money.

My mother entered Merit house in assisted living in 2017 and transitioned to long term care, then Hospice care until her homegoing on Sept 4. Her whole journey there was a great experience. They truly cared for the welfare of my mom even though she was transitioning from Dementia into Alzheimer's and was not easy in her demeaner at certain times of the Day. They also cared for us as a family. They kept us updated on any changes and needs that my mom had. They were gentle and Attentive to my mom right up to her last hour on this earth. I gave them 5 stars out of five. If I could have, I would have given them 10 Stars. I love their Staff, I appreciate their Staff and when I get that old and need help I would trust myself to them easily. Thank you Donna and the team of Merit House in Toledo, OH.

I have been at Merit House since mid December. I was extremely reluctant coming in because I’ve never had to deal with this before. I had no idea what to expect. I had people checking places for me and did review checks of my own and must admit I found other places with higher ratings who’s beds were all full. I could not be happier that it worked out this way! Merit House has gone above and beyond any expectation that I could’ve ever had! From the rooms being single occupancy to the extremely friendly and professional staff to the professionally trained therapists who not only did o/t and p/t but mental therapy for me when needed, my experience was superb!!! I will, no doubt, recommend Merit House to everyone that needs a facility and only ever use Merit House should I ever need them again!! Thank you so very much to the entire staff of Merit House!! You should all be extremely proud of yourselves and your commitment to excellence!!!!!

We were very concerned when told our mother needed to moved to assisted living and even more so when we started visiting the facilities that accepted Medicaid. However, we are so pleased with Merit House, the staff and the attention they give her. The facility is clean and is continually being updated. She has a beautiful room. The staff is amazing caring for her as if she were their relative. I cannot recommend enough this facility.

My family had experience with the previous operators so when we heard my mom was to be sent there we were less than pleased. However the facility is completely different than what we remembered. The new owners have changed everything from building a new roof to a complete re-do inside. Plus they are really nice people who have hired a caring staff. I would recommend Merit House to anyone.

West Toledo is a very large community type assisted living. For starters there is always plenty of parking. They work hard to keep their grounds area neat and clean. They have spacious rooms, (the first asl my grandmother and I looked at we could hardly get her wheelchair through the room doors!). The staff is incredibly attentive to their residents and my grandma says they always have group activities in the morning and afternoons she enjoys.
