Facility was chosen because of location. Good thing it was close. On two occasions during my husband's stay I had to rush over in the middle of the night to help my husband. His needs were not being met and he couldn't find his call button. On both occasions I finally got them to let me . in and rushed to his room to assist him myself. His call button was out of his reach and generally put there by staff even after numerous complaints He was yelled at and treated with disrespect even after I complained. Promises were made then ignored. If I could rate lower than 0 I would. The kicker is when I finally got him home he was in worse shape than when I sent him in for rehab and they released him with someone else's medications. DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Fairview rehab facility in Toledo, OH is a disaster. The only thing they have going for them is a great Physical and Occupational Therapy department.. The nurses and aides are incredibly unresponsive. The only exception is ONE nurse who really does do a good job. I am on quite a number of medications and I was always very uneasy about what I was being given.. The nursing staff just didn't seem to care. The Pulmonary program they claim to have is very ineffective. The help I received from the Respiratory Therapists was no different than what I've gotten from other rehab facilities. Next, is the food(?). Once in a while I had a good meal but most of the time the food was absolutely terrible. Sometimes I couldn't identify what I was eating. One item was what appeared to be powdered scrambled eggs.. Those were served about 5 days a week. Finally we get to cleanliness. A custodial person came in every other day I think. The floor would get swept and mopped. If I wanted the bathroom cleaned, I had to make a special request. Even then it really wasn't cleaned. I will never go back to Fairview and I will never recommend it. Terrible, just terrible..

When our kids were little, they visited a buddy over there at Fairview. They went over there once a month to visit their buddy. The rooms were a little bit older. They are not quite as updated as the others but that wasn't really something that we had in mind. We wanted the care more than we care about how it looked like or how fancy it was. They had something going on, but it was quite late in the afternoon so most people were sitting around and kind of waiting for dinner. The security is fine.

Fairview Skilled Nursing was a good nursing home. My father also liked it there. The only problem we had with this facility was that they had some people there that like to steal and there were things that kept coming up missing. At one time they actually stole his cell phone and his glasses and we never did find them. I really don't know if the people who were stealing his stuff were the residents or their staff. When I reported these incidents, all they said was that they would look into it and that was really the gist of it.
