My parents-in-law are in Wesleyan Meadows of Sheffield Village. In the time that they've been there, they've enjoyed all of the activities that it offers. They have a senior center that they have access to where they participate in activities throughout the week, such as Bridge, euchre, reading club, exercise club, and various things like that. We've also used the community center for hosting large family events when we're all up there visiting for like Thanksgiving or Christmas. We can rent the place out so all of us can share a meal. They've made some lifelong friends there since being there. They're in a condo-style house, so it's all on one level. They have their own driveway and their own two-car garage. It's got a laundry room in there. It has a kitchen, a dining room, and a living room. It has a den. It has a covered patio. It's not screened in, but it's got a concrete block out there where they can put patio furniture and a grill. It's a two-bedroom, two-bath. They've enjoyed being there. When they get ready to transition over to the assisted living part, that is apartment-style living. It's my understanding that they will be on the third floor. They're preparing it now for them to be able to move in. They've had some good interactions with the staff and have enjoyed the marketing director they've had some dealings with. My father-in-law assisted in interviewing new clients who were newly moved into the Wesleyan Village, asking them some questions and they would post a newsletter that went out among the community so that people could get to know the new residents and to make them feel welcome. They cook meals on their own.

I'm in Wesleyan Meadows of Sheffield Village and it's been great. I'm in the independent living section and have no help or anything. I just moved in here about 3 weeks ago, but I have been kind of active, in some of the activities like going out to dinner and painting. They play cards too so we talk there and we communicate. The staff at the office and the maintenance people are wonderful. We don't get food, we have our own place and we cook our food. It's just a nice and quiet community if you want peace and doing things at your own pace. No one tells you what to do. Its a nice place for somebody who doesn't need assistance.

We were extremely thrilled with Wesleyan Meadows of Sheffield Village. We had a lovely tour with Tracey. She took us through the seven different models of villas that they had and they were wonderful. We met residents that were there and it was absolutely lovely. I never imagined it to be as lovely as it was. They're individual villas. It is a wonderful place for seniors who want to move down into the right spaces of living. It's a more intact living environment. As a caretaker, what made most of the impression for me is they have an electronic alert system every morning that the residents need to push by 10:00. If it's not pushed, they have a care team that goes to the villas of the individual. If they knock and there's not a response, then they enter the villa and check to see if there's help that needs to be administered or whatever needs to be taken care of and contact the family immediately, whatever needs to be done. Part of that support team is the nursing staff, which was for me as a daughter, I don't have to worry anymore. I now will have someone else that can check on her and it's going to eliminate that worry for me if she's OK. It was such a weight off my shoulders when I heard that and it's all electronic. It's not like a little card that you have to put out. It's easy. They had a clear distinct process that's followed and they gave it to me in writing. The other thing that I was so impressed with, because we've gone to lots of these places, as a caretaker and as a person that has my mother's power-of-attorney, they don't want me to sign over my rights. They don't remove the family from being an essential part of the care team for their loved ones and that was the best part. They have no meals. They get to be independent. She's not forced into a meal plan, and she gets to cook her own meals still. Their monthly rent is not so extraordinarily high that she is out of all of her resources within three to four years. They want them to age in place and that was wonderful to hear. They don't frontload all your resources. On the application, they're asking you to give your financial pieces but they're not asking you to send your income tax return and give permission for them to speak to your investment counselors and everything else. This place is not intrusive, which was wonderful. It was clean, and I like the fact that they had lots of sanitizers all around. The fitness room was beautiful, the arts and crafts room was gorgeous, and the meeting rooms were gorgeous. They have a coffee party every day. I can't tell you how beautiful the clubhouse was. I could live in this place. The staff was genuine. They answer your questions clearly, concisely, and honestly. There was no dancing around.
