My mother has moved to Majestic Care of Middletown Assisted Living. That's where she actually wanted to go to begin with. We went and checked it because she has stage six dementia, and they had one bed left. They have nurses and aides constantly, and they've been working with her. They call me every day and give me updates. They seemed to really care and they worked with them constantly. They also do group functions and everything. I've been there with her meals, they've got a three-course meal so she gets her meals, vegetables, and they give her dessert. It looks good. They have activities every day. They're very helpful. She had a doctor's appointment yesterday and they took her. I met them at the doctor's office and everything went well. The drivers were really sweet and they know how to handle her with no problem. They've got a gym, a salon, they've got quite a few things because it's a huge facility. They've got assisted living, a regular nursing home, and a memory care section.

One of the nurses at this location has numerous complaints about her performance. She has been here for a very long time and that is becoming an issue. She is very slow and frequently does not give medication to her residents until well after midnight, and sometimes not at all. Being a senior myself I am not discriminating because of age, but she unfortunately too old to perform her duties efficiently.

Majestic Care of Middletown Assisted Living was very nice. The tour was informative. We liked the room. It had a little kitchenette and a nice walk-in shower. A particular unit had two closets and there were places for my mother-in-law to put her extra food. There was a refrigerator, stove, and that kind of thing. Also in the hallway, she would have her own locker that was very nice sized that she could put extra things in (whether it be coats, decorations, or whatever she wanted to put in it). They also allow small animals with a $500 deposit, and they are responsible solely for that. They take care of their laundry if they need it, and they change their bedding. It was all pluses for me. The staff during the tour was very helpful. She knew the facility well, and she took us to the different areas. We saw the salon, and we saw the activities area. All the areas we visited were very comfortable. They weren't dated. They were up-to-date. They had nice sitting areas in different locations too that were isolated if you want to go read a book by yourself somewhere. I liked that about the place too. She said they encourage people to come and join in activities. I thought that was nice too that they encourage them to come and join the different activities they have through the month. They give their residents a menu either for the week or for the month. Then they would choose what they want. They did not have the selection that the other place did. I think it was chicken and dumplings when we visited. Of course if you don't like chicken and dumplings, they do offer other things for the residents if they would rather have something else.

Majestic Care of Middletown Assisted Living is very big, and it's a little bit dated. They have kind of a lot going on at the moment because they're in transition from being owned by somebody else, but they're improving. They're doing a lot of improvements, and it looks like they're trying and getting stuff together, but they're not finished yet. The one I visited was the assisted living. They do have a memory care area, and they call it the bridge. They have a house, and then all the rooms can do independent living or assisted living. Connected to them, they have a skilled nursing facility, kind of like a nursing home. I only met two of the staff, but they're very nice. The guy we met with, Travis, was taking on a lot; he is very nice, but it seems like they're expecting too much of him. It seems like he's all over the place and just trying to get it all together. Once they get a finish, they have a room with a pool table and shuffleboard, and they have a little physical therapy room. They were going to be working on that room for it anyway. The food is kind of like the same, you go in and tell them what you want to eat that day, and then they cook it for you. The facility is a work in progress, but it looks like they're doing good things.

I toured Majestic Care of Middletown Assisted Living. The person in charge wants to make it like a resort; that's why I wasn't interested. It's not even for assisted living, even though it says it's assisted living. The apartments themselves were one- and two-bedroom apartments with a kitchen. If it's assisted living and if some people can take care of themselves using a kitchen, that's fine, but others can't. It's more like a retirement community, because the person wants to put in a bar and everything else. I feel that's not an assisted living facility. The staff during the tour did fine, they explained everything, and I wasn't upset about that. The dining area was fine. They apparently have activities, but I didn't observe anything. It looks more like an apartment complex or a retirement community than an assisted living facility.

Mother is in assisted living , all they do for her is bring her medications a couple times a day. No one ever checks on her at any other time, there are a couple really great nurses there and one exceptional aide. but I hear all the time they are short staffed, that one nurse is covering multiple floors. the maintenance department , well they have to cover two separate buildings from what I have been told. Over the years thing have declined, that is my mothers opinion. Owner doesn't live in the U.S.A. so he is very seldom around, and they cant keep staff, the turn over there is high.

My mom has moved into Garden Manor just a week ago. Right now, they could take care of her there whereas the other two places where she was at before basically threw her out. They have rehab, memory care unit, and nursing home. So far, they have been taking care of my mom like they promised. They do have activities. Like the other day, they sat at the table playing volleyball with a balloon. They have a TV room too. There is plenty to do, but my mother is at the point now that she can't remember what's going on. They also provide three meals, they have their own doctor that will come in and see the residents, and they do housekeeping and laundry.

My father stayed there and they are always increasing the bills and didn't communicate with me very well . The lady that runs the billing dept. always screwed our bills up and would always just blame the program for the billing, she would never take responsibility. Also they changed coordinators often and they had no clue what they were doing. It wasn't too bad with cleanliness but I wouldn't recommend them. Huge ripoff in my opinion!

My great grandmother stayed at Garden Manor. It was a good facility, but my impression when I walked in immediately tells you that it was a rest home. You would be hit by the smell of urine as soon as you walked in the door. I guess they could improve on the cleaning and hygiene. Other than that, the staff was good. I ate there and the food was great, and it was secured place.

From what i could tell Gardon Manor was a really nice assisted living facility. All of the employees were really nice and knew exactly how to take care of there patient. I heard about all these nursing homes that had nurses in them that would beat there patients, nothing like that as ever happened here at gardon manor to my knowledge. Its a great home its were my Grandma mas put,and its were i wanna be put.
