We didn't see very much at Kettering Health Senior Living. I have visited friends who have a home there. It is senior living. That was the best pricing. They had condominiums. They had everything. We saw an apartment in the independent living. They had one that someone had just moved out of, and it had not been cleaned, but the lady said that if we want an idea of what the apartments were like, we could see it. Living there would be a little hard for me, because the rooms were smaller, and every house there is different. It's not a cookie cutter, but it's individual housing. My friend's mother lives there, and I've been to her house several times, and it's a very nice house. They just got mixed up. We had an appointment there and the person that we had an appointment with had double booked herself. So another person took us around and she just kind of worked us in and did as best she could. She did a good job. She represented and told us information. They gave us the brochure at the desk. They gave us the information and it has all of the pricing in there, and the services that they provide. They provide very good services, and even though it's a Seventh-day Adventist, they still provide respect for your religious faith. They provided spiritual services and we liked that. They even provided concierge services. They're far above and beyond on some of their things. The facility was immaculate. They took care of everything. You are just right there with the hospital. All medical services are there for you, which is a big factor for seniors. It looked like they were very caring, and they provided for anything you needed, physically and spiritually.

Kettering Health Senior Living was nice. They couldn't show us a regular apartment unit because there was none available. They had walking trails and a nice area outside with a fire pit, and they said they have celebrations out there. They had meeting rooms in the main area and places to play chess or cards. They had a really nice pool and exercise room. The dining area was very nice and well kept. The staff that we talked to was very nice.

I moved into Sycamore Glen Retirement Center, and I'm really pleased. I like the space that I moved into because I have my own privacy, and the people and the staff are very nice. It's difficult. They can't offer everything they usually do because of COVID. I can't take advantage of the meals right now. It's independent housing, and they take care of the grounds and housing, so I don't have to do anything. I haven't had a lot of interaction with the staff because I haven't needed them, and I have my own home. They've come in, changed the air filters, furnace and replaced some windows that needed replacing, and they were all very nice. They don't do cleaning or anything like that, I have to provide my own, like a home health care aide. The facility is very good and well maintained, and the house was in perfect condition when I moved in. I've only been here a month. The staff that I worked with when I moved in was excellent, and they've responded when I called. Because of COVID, I can't use the gym or any community facilities right now. People who live in the independent living are not allowed to go up to the assisted living to participate because there's been COVID in the assisted living. It's much cheaper than others.

My husband and I are residents here and absolutely love it. The food is excellent. There are multiple choices with each meal served. It’s like eating at a 5 star restaurant. They have daily activities, outings, bingo and movies on the weekend. The staff is like family. They are extremely helpful and nice. I would recommend coming here to live. It feels more like living in a hotel.

Sycamore Glen Retirement Center was the least expensive of the ones we visited. It's going to be $1,300 a month and they don't increase the rent each year. The community is so pretty. We saw it in spring and the trees were all blooming. They have wooded areas throughout. Kettering Health is right there on campus. It's run by a church, and they will not take you out if you run out of money. We like the food very much. They have a special every day and a regular menu with soups and salads. They have bingo, theology study, and entertainment periodically in their auditorium. We're on a waiting list for a duplex. They also have single family homes. They're very popular, near our church, and I have recommended it to two people. The staff is extremely well trained, and they have meetings constantly. They're very well prepared to handle the residents in a kind and gentle way.

I went to Sycamore Glen. I thought it was very nice. The staff was very warm and friendly. The location was very nice. It was lovely. It was very pretty with trees and flowers. The rooms were somewhat small, but they were very clean and well kept. Everything was nice. The place was affordable with lots of personal service. It’s warm, friendly, and welcoming. The residents seemed happy too. The residents walking around in the halls were very happy there.

Sycamore Glen Retirement Community had different levels; they have cottages, and they have apartments in a high rise. When you sign up to move in, you have a good choice of facilities, and they have good food. The place is very clean, very nice looking, and pretty well thought of in the area. I have a friend who just recently moved there, and he seems to be doing really well. The people are very friendly and very helpful. It is a very lovely place.

Sycamore Glen has been wonderful. They have several available houses in the community. Our condo is a separate free-standing house. We have a full basement and a storage room. We chose this community because we found out that they were ready to expand to three-bedroom-two-car garage units. Also we like the feature that, supposedly, if you already live in that community, you have priority in moving to the nursing home when you need more care. We are welcome to join in activities that are at The Plaza. They have a really good chef there, and he has helped with the food. The social committee plans for major activities every month. In terms of staffing, though, they need one more maintenance man because there are more than 100 separate units in the community.

Sycamore Glen Retirement Center is the best one in the area we visited. It was like a 5-star hotel including the dining. It was a like a fine diner. I had the salmon, which was wonderful. You have a choice of what you eat. Rooms are a little bit bigger with more storage. People were very nice. Sanitation is very good, just like a hospital. They take you in a bus and take you different places and they also have indoor crafts.
