Governors Port is a smaller facility with extraordinary level of caring. Many larger more expensive facilities have fancier trappings but the difference is staff performs from the heart vs for money. There is no charge for someone to check on a parent who may not hear a call, or can't figure out a remote but be it the maintenance staff or the food service people they take the time to lend a hand. It is the difference between personal and an institutional setting. Lake Tran offers transport to anywhere and staff is happy to help arrange. I can not extol the virtues of this facility enough- they are open , honest , economical and flexible.

My mother chose the Governor's Port. We toured it on November 1st. I would say everything was more than above board and everything was fine. The room which is a one- bedroom, living room, kitchenette and big bathroom with a walk-in shower was very, very nice. And so was the dining room, it was very nice. The staff was wonderful. We went over some statistics, dollars, and things. They gave us a little brochure, and then we went on a tour of the facility, and everything was very good.

The rooms are bright and cheerful with lots of storage. The open design made it easy to socialize with company and having a patio was so nice to watch the birds or just get fresh air. The staff however is what makes this place special- not just kind , upbeat and loving while remaining professional. There are no hidden cost so it is affordable and located with easy access to everything! This is by far the best place for seniors.

Governor's Port was OK. It didn't have a balcony and the amenities weren't as nice as other facilities. The price was a lot better than most places, but you don't get half the stuff. They say they have a lot of amenities, but it didn't appear that way. I wasn't impressed.

We were at Governor's Port for about 2-1/2 months. The staff was great, very helpful and very friendly. It was a nice place. We went there on a temporary basis and it was very comfortable. We had no problems there whatsoever. The apartment we were in was okay, and we were lucky to get it. They have 50 apartments and we had the last one. The meals that we did get there were highly satisfactory. We were only on a one-meal basis at night, but as far as we were concerned, it was great. The people that served the meals were really nice. We attended the physical exercise classes and a couple of parties that they had and also they had some musicians that came in and perform. The whole experience was very positive. We were happy there.

Governor’s Port was absolutely beautiful and ironically I tried to cross the street from where my condo is. The people were extremely nice, it was going to be a long walk for me to go the individuals suites that were available, so they brought a wheelchair so that I wouldn’t have to worry about walking too far and that sort of thing. They were extremely accommodating. My son and daughter-in-law loved the place. I might end up there if I can’t find a place close enough to my son and daughter in Florida, but at least I know what they have over there. I was told by my caregivers that this particular church provides meals, it’s by donation, and they actually deliver meals for some people over there that don’t want to pay $300 a month for their two meals. They have all kinds of activities, plus they have Lake Tran which is a mini bus that takes people to the senior center for free. They have exercise and gaming things; it’s a full facility, and I was really impressed. The facility has been built within the last 10 years.
