My friend moved to Governor's Village. I really appreciated the staff taking a complete interest in her. I toured it first then toured with her, and it is a very diverse community. She is African-American, and I felt really happy for her that she saw people of all shades there. It made her more comfortable as well. The memory care unit is staffed very well. They have a small residence post office, so the residents get a lot. Her room is in an older part of the facility, but it's very clean and nice. They have accommodated everything that I've asked them to do. They're putting in new carpeting, and they've painted the bathroom counter in a color that I preferred. They provide the television, telephone service, cable service, the bed, and mattress and box springs. They would have provided other furnishings, but she was donated some nice pieces. We're very happy. When I brought her yesterday, the director came and personally walked her in, and all the staff introduced themselves and made her feel very welcome and comfortable. It's a very lovely building with different wings coming off the beautiful inner great room. The reception area is very lovely. They have a beautiful garden in the middle of the facility for the other assisted living residents, and the memory care unit has their own little private secure garden area to walk around, sit, and enjoy nature. The staff is awesome. From the maintenance crew, to the activities staff, to the nurses, to the director, to the secretary, the receptionist-- everyone has been amazing. She had her first dinner there yesterday, and she had breakfast today. She had eggs and bacon. She was really happy. So far with the food (a day and a half in), we're happy. They give two options to the resident for each meal; but if they have specific requests, they will accommodate that. I've spoken to two of the activity directors, and it seems like they plan. As I was leaving yesterday, they had activities that they were doing in different areas of the building. They're all pricey, but they accommodate her finances.

Governor's Village was the very first one that I saw. When I went there, I don't think I recalled major activities, which is why I would say that I didn't think that it was for my parents. It was a nice place. The staff was very nice. Their space was nice. It just didn't stand out too much. Very manicured facility, nice that way. From what I remember, I mean, the person who took me around was very, very nice, and was able to answer all my questions. I think she and I spoke before I even went out, so she had given me a lot of information.

Governor's Village provides the safe, caring environment that my mother-in-law needs. The care givers are very helpful and responsive to her needs and treat her like family.

My mom has been at Governors Village a little over a year. I am very pleased with the facility and the daily care she receives.. Everyone is very caring and supportive. There are many activities available to the residents thanks to Stephanie. She is always busy creating fun things to do and always has some sort of theme for each month. Aside from being the Activity coordinator, she is also a very caring person involved with helping residents as needed, whether it is helping during meals or comforting someone with a little hug. Thanks to all the staff at Governors Village!

I moved my Mother to Governor's village from another assisted living facility. My only regret is that I didn't move her sooner. The Director and entire staff have been kind, respectful, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure my Mother was comfortable and felt welcomed. My Mother was treated like family. I am forever grateful for everything the entire staff has done. For those of you looking for a place to move your loved one, look no further. You could not ask for a better home.

Mayfield Village Senior Services has been partnering with Governor’s Village for several months. Mayfield Village area senior residents have attended a new monthly Lunch & Movie Program and play Mah Jongg on Mondays. The staff members have been extremely helpful and courteous. The facility is clean and bright. The food provided for the Lunch & Movie programs and snacks for Mah Jongg have been exceptional. We have received many positive comments from our seniors. We are enjoying our partnership with Governor’s Village and are looking forward to continuing that partnership.

Governor's Village is one of the best assisted living facility . The clean environment, warm and caring staff, it felt like a home more than a assisted living. I was very satisfied with the care my grandmother got from everyone there. They have a long-term staff base. My grandma was always busy with different activities and meetings. They were always taking a fabulous trip somewhere or having a family party of some kind...the family atmosphere is what sets this place apart from other facilities. I highly recommend Governor's Village for anyone...

I was lucky enough to find an opening when my Dad needed 24/7 care. The staff was caring, kind and available at all times. His room was homey, clean and comfortable. He had his own bathroom which was spotless. I had 24 hour visits and was neverdisappointed with his care

A visit here proved very disappointing; a newer facility in a convenient one-story building, Governor's Village proved to be one of those sad, depressing elder-care facilities. The rooms are unusually tiny, under 300 square feet -- too small for anything but a twin bed, a chair and a dresser. Closet space is minimal. Dining room is small and attractive, but the menu was depressing -- rigatoni and tomato sauce for lunch, HOT DOGS for dinner. That seems really minimal. It doesn't seem to offer residents any choice, either. Even worse, this was one of the most expensive facilities we visited -- the BASE price for a room is roughly $3000, but you must add $2000 or MORE per month for "care services". That would make the average $5000, for a teeny bedroom and hot dogs for dinner. Not impressive. Less than 2 miles away, several other facilities offer units with larger rooms, separate bedroom/living room plans and much more varied meal plans, for $1000 less a month. I can't see anything offered at Governor's Village that could justify the extra cost. In conclusion: very disappointing.
