We visited Brookdale Wickliffe. I thought it was a very nice facility. It would be a place that we would consider when we're going to make a move. The staff was great. They were very good, knowledgeable, and made us comfortable. They showed us both rooms and they're very nice. They had some activities going on in the memory care unit when we were there and I was pretty impressed with that.

Brookdale Wickliffe was nice, but it was small and I think it only had 46 or 48 people. It was cheaper though. They had a little kitchen space with a small refrigerator and it didn't have the same benefits, but I think they still took you shopping, which was nice. They had some benches outside where you could go sit if you wanted, and it was up away from the traffic. I wouldn't mind if I went to a place like that. I just wanted something bigger. The staff that took me on a tour was very friendly and seemed very knowledgeable. The menu looked pretty good. Cleanliness was OK, but again, it was smaller, so I don't think it has as many windows, and I'm very fond of windows so I can see out. It wasn't as lit up but you could go outside and it was OK.

Brookdale Wickliffe was a very inviting place. The staff as well as the residents were very friendly. The rooms were definitely up to standard and well-kept. The appearance of the rooms looked very inviting. While I was touring around, the seniors were getting ready for a game of bingo. They were all lined up in the activity room looking very excited. They also had a chapel there which looked very pleasant.

Brookdale Wickliffe was a beautiful place. The person who assisted me was very nice and very informative. She explained everything to us. The model rooms looked very nice and clean, too. You had to bring your own furniture as they're not furnished. The halls were also clean, and the group area where they do their activities and stuff, was very nice. It's just way out of our budget line.

We went to Brookdale Wickliffe yesterday. They only had a one-bedroom and it was OK. However, the atmosphere didn't seem bright and cheerful. It was kind of dull in there. I just wasn't impressed. The room was nice. If we needed a place, that would be OK. It's closest to our home. The little kitchenette had very little space, and of course, we probably wouldn't need it because we'd be eating the meals there, but it was very small. The dining area looked OK. They had assigned tables if you live there, but I don't know if that's a good idea or not. They had the same activities. They had games and crafts and things like that. I was not that impressed, so I didn't ask a whole lot of questions.

We went to Brookdale Wickliffe. We were able to see the one-bedroom and two-bedroom that was available. They were fine. The facility itself was away from the road. The outside is kept nicely, the regular outer area is nice, and it's manicured very well. It looked great.

We visited Brookdale Wickliffe and that's one of the places we are considering. I liked it and I liked the way it was situated. I liked the prices and the fact that it provided meals, housekeeping, and transportation. I just really liked the way it was set up and I liked the whole layout of the place. One of the things that worried me is that I didn't see any people who live there. They kept telling me that it was just the wrong time of day, but I was just worried about that. But it was the only downside. And I would want to see it again before I make a plan to choose that place. The staff was very friendly, and I liked them. They also had a very lovely courtyard.

Brookdale was very clean, very nice, and the dining room and the food are just wonderful. They bent over backwards for anything my parents needed and wanted, and they cared for my mom and got her healthy again. We don't have any complaints.

We settled on The Fairways because they provided the memory care, which is everything my mom needed. The only bad was that they don't take Medicare. Right now, from what I have seen and been exposed to, I'd rate them probably a four, only because it really needs some updating. But as far as getting her involved in activities, although she doesn't remember it three hours later because she has got a severe case of dementia, they have activities which put her with other people and which I think is helping her a little. They've got some things that have to do with crafts, they've got movie time, and they take them out on road trips. They do different things each day with the people. It is good for them -- the interaction. She did live by herself for a number of years and that gave her minimal contact with other people although I think she is starting to remember some of the people she has been with, but she is getting that interaction, and they keep them fairly busy, which is good. It seems they have a good program for the elderly with memory issues.

I have a family member who just moved in at The Fairways and our family is very pleased. The care and staff is great and everyone that's we meet there really seems to care. Our family toured other places and we really liked the homelike warm feeling we got and are very happy with our decision

The Fairways looked more like an apartment building. Each of the unit have its own bathroom including a shower and a little kitchenette, it has an apartment feel.

One of the places I looked at is The Fairways and it's a very nice place. The only thing I can say about this place is that when you go there and go into the care area, ask the people there where are the showers. They provide one shower for 30 people. When they are ready for their shower, they have a code on the door and the nurse has to press the code and the door opens to the shower room and the resident goes on with the nurse. The nurse helps with their bath or shower.

We toured this facility 9/20/13; very disappointing. The photos must be 10 years old. The place is disturbingly shabby and run-down -- carpet in lobby is patched with carpet tape and Duck tape, and it is all stretched out. This isn't just cosmetic, it's a tripping disaster waiting to happen! The common areas are also tired and look run-down. The lady who took us on a tour said "oh we are remodeling all this soon!" so maybe it will be improved, but TODAY it is shabby & tired. The rooms are pleasant enough and even the studio is a decent size. They have mini-kitchens with dorm size fridges. But the prices here are the highest we were quoted -- about $4400 for the room, PLUS an average of $1600 for "care". "Care" is not included! so you have to come up with $6000 a month. This is about 40% more than comparable facilities in the area, but The Fairways is far from the most attractive or well maintained. I did talk to a caring, serious food director who claims the quality of the food is very high, and they offer salads and fruit which are absent at my elderly relatives current facility. But I did not get to eat an actual meal here. The tour lady also tried to pressure me into putting my elderly relative into costly "memory care" -- without meeting her! This is troubling.

My father is in The Fairways. The place is nice but he is getting the care that what we are paying for and we are not satisfied with the service right now. We are having some issues with them not taking the dog out like they are supposed to and coming up for his meals because he is having trouble using his wheelchair. We are actually considering taking him out of there and moving him in an apartment with a live-in aide. They need to improve on the attentiveness of the aide.
