Mom is at Elizabeth Scott Community. I like that the hallways are not all closed in. There's glass and a sitting area where they can look outside. I like that there's a nurse there and that they clean once a week. If you want, they provide sheets and towels, too. Food is good. The employees are all very nice and very helpful. My mom plays bingo twice a week, and they had an outing the other day.

First experience with a nursing home for my mom who had a fall was very weak and new diagnosis of dementia. No one informed family of how the facility works until a week after she was there, we were completely lost. PT was daily on weekdays and my mom complained daily that they were doing nothing with her to get her stronger. She ended up with a huge skin tear and for several days that not a single provider noted until I showed them. I had to ask them to place and change the dressing. The week of her leaving we tried to arrange home care services but they were very delayed in paper work and everything was apparently incorrect and it took 2 & 1/2 weeks after she was home and my work to get it set up. After she left I reached out to them again to correct the paper work but no one ever returned my call. Over all my mom thought the aids were nice, but I thought the care was poor, lacking, and absolutely no communication until they wanted paid.

I went to Elizabeth Scott Community. Elizabeth's grandson was the one that actually showed us around and he was excellent. I really liked him. I really loved the facility. The facility was very nice and very upscale. The rooms were much nicer than the other place, but just like the other place they didn't have central heating and air-conditioning. It was like a hotel experience where you have the unit by the window with the control within the unit. As far as the facility goes, one of the things I liked about Elizabeth Scott was regardless of what kind of a room you would get, whether it be a studio or a one-bedroom, you got a full-size refrigerator. The rooms were very, very nice. There were lots of lighting. It's a very bright and very comfortable facility. The decor throughout the facility and all the common areas and everything were very, very nice. It was very clean. The staff was very, very friendly. We actually spoke to residents in the facility about the dining experience, and they all said that the food was excellent. They had a five-star dining experience with the tables with real tablecloths, real plates, and forks, and the menus. It's like going to a five-star dining restaurant. We never ate there, but we did get firsthand testimonials from the residents. The dining facility looked very, very nice. The staff was very open and honest with us. One thing that I really appreciated is that Elizabeth's grandson, who runs the facility, was very honest with us when we asked questions. He admitted that they have staffing shortages just like everywhere. One of the things that he said is that they didn't have anybody available to drive the facility van. To us, it was kind of a big deal to be able to offer the residents any kind of activities outside of the community.

I like that Elizabeth Scott Community is family-owned and the fact that we don't enter at one level and stay there. You may come in as independent living and end up in a nursing home, but you never have to leave this campus. So, that's important. Our apartments are of various sizes. We have small studio apartments, and I'm in the one that has a living room, a galley kitchen, a bedroom, and a full bath. We have plenty of closet space. They come in, clean, and change the bedding once a week. In general, they take really good care of us and the staff is so helpful. We have a salon person who is here three days a week, a nice outdoor swimming pool (so it's not in use all year), bingo, all sorts of brain games, card games, and entertainment that comes in. Their food is very good. They have recently had a little trouble getting enough help in the kitchen, which I think is common all over, but they've done very well. Our food is nicely prepared here. We have one big kitchen and then we have kitchens in each area. So, our food is always well served and hot.

My mom moved into Elizabeth Scott Community. We chose this because it was a convenient location, and my in-laws had gotten there previously. The staff members are very caring and available to my mom. They do have activities, but my mom doesn't tend to go down very much.

I toured Elizabeth Scott Community, and I visited both the nursing and the assisted living. I think it's a fabulous facility. They have everything that my dad would want. It's a family-owned business. They care very much for their residents. They had activities and a beautiful outdoor space. The facility was clean, and the staff was friendly and engaging. I really enjoyed my visit. The only downside is it's a little far for my mom, but we'll see. I'm going to take her there to see it. I don't remember what I saw, but I know that they were engaged. I met the activities director, Sarah. I don't remember offhand what it was that I saw them doing. All I know is that the residents looked engaged, and they looked happy. They have trivia, tabletop bowling, and all sorts of different activities for the residents. The person who toured me around was part owner. He was the grandson of Elizabeth or might have been a great grandson. I thought he was great.

No better Staff and facility. My mother is an active resident of Level II and has been professionally cared for since her arrival a few years ago. The Nursing Staff is excellent, attentive, helpful and outstanding in every facit of care as well as with communications with me as I am 600 miles away from Maumee. Again, there's no better Assisted Living Facility than Elizabeth Scott Community. Great organization, facility and Staff.

My mother is at Elizabeth Scott Community for physical therapy. My sister and I think they are doing great. We heard a lot of good things about them, and my sister knows a couple of people there who really liked the facility and care that they got. They're giving good care to my mom. We really like the staff. They're nice and friendly, very helpful, and answer all our questions. The food is very good, and she eats better there than when she did at home. They keep the rooms clean and nice. I don't see anything dirty. It's well organized. They have activities every day, which they post on the board. Their price is reasonable.

My mom is in the assisted living of Elizabeth Scott Community. It is gorgeous. It is a really nice-looking place. It is in the country, so there is lot of vegetation and trees around that residents can look at. The grounds are gorgeous. They have all kinds of neat stuff. They are a good community. All the aides that we have worked with, in my opinion, have been extremely helpful. They answered our questions. I'm just glad that my mom is there. The dining area is very nice. It is in a restaurant-style situation. They fill out a form for what they want from the menu. It is not a big menu, but there are two entrees, a meal, and a side. If they don't like either entrée, they can have grilled cheese or peanut butter and jelly for that particular meal. Last night they had an ice cream social. My mom is not a real goer or getter, but they do have bingo, and people come in to entertain them, so there are activities. They can sit outside when the weather is not too hot or too cold. There is also a long glass in hallway where there are chairs and you can sit and still see outside, but not be cold or hot. Elizabeth Scott is expensive, but they're getting good care.

I liked Elizabeth Scott Community a lot. I had my mother and dad there. It was very good. They had good rehab, and they had apartments for husbands and wives. They had a library and somebody just celebrated his 100th birthday there. They also had a popular piano player who came in. They had activities for the people. It was very clean and they had places where people could sit outside and inside. They had a pond, swimming, and fishing. I liked the people who ran the place as well as the nurses. The staff at the office was really good and helpful, gave us pamphlets, and called back several times to see if my uncle had moved in.

My sister's mother-in-law had been a patient of The Elizabeth Scott Community for several years, so we were familiar with the facility, and we knew the kind of care they gave. They followed up with everything. The staff are very friendly, very helpful, and knowledgeable about their patient population. They are required to maintain certain certifications, and they have to take continuing education. They make the food fresh every day. It doesn't taste like institutional or hospital food. My mother is in a private room currently. They have movie nights twice a week, a gentleman comes in and plays the piano and sings for them once a week, there are outings for lunch once a month, exercise every morning, different games, bingo, card games, and puzzles.

Elizabeth Scott was very nice. It’s a rural location, and it is family owned. It’s also very expensive. The apartments were fairly good size, some of them would have two doors, one that would go outside to a grassy area and a patio setup. My mom liked that. The owner and the son showed us the place. They were very nice and answered our questions. They have just about everything, buses that will take them out, cards, crafts and book clubs. There was a lot going on.

I worked for an ambulance company and had to go in here several times to pick up patients. From what I have seen, the staff has always been wonderful and the place has always been extremely clean and pleasantly decorated. If I had to pick a place to put my mother or father I would definetely consider this one!
