My mom is at Kemper House Highland Heights. COVID has been hard on everybody, as far as the whole vaccine thing and keeping employees. They're all doing their best and still kept it together. She's comfortable and happy there. They do cooking exhibits, and they have an exercise person that comes in. They're focused on keeping them stimulated, so that they're not just sitting in a hallway doing nothing. She was actually in a pilot program (I had to sign a waiver to have her in it), where they were utilizing different kinds of sensory things. When I visited her on Mother's Day, she was smiling and talking about a lot of things. Whatever they're doing, it's helping her to be happy. I never got to see her room because of COVID. After things relaxed (in 2021), they had the families meet in one of the community rooms. We had this homemade food that's similar to what the residents eat, and then we got to meet all of the staff. Their head chef was amazing. They served all different kinds of soups. It was interesting. I've eaten their desserts, too. All things considered, I'm very happy with Kemper House Highland Heights.

Kemper House Highland Heights was very well prepared for my visit. They had the layout of the room printed available for me, they had the information, and a checklist of moving supplies to help with the transition. The facility is gorgeous. It's very light and it had an open feeling to it. They had Zoom classes for the family members just to teach them about things that were available to them. The residents were up and socializing or grouping. There were a lot of functional memory care residents there and the way that the tour guide interacted with the residents was very kind and reassuring.

My Mother is a full time resident at Kemper House. I live out of state and travel often to visit with her. I am so comfortable with the care she is receiving and the staff is marvelous. She is always well kept and clean, engaged in some sort of activity and not just sitting around. The house itself is also very clean and well maintained. Everything about this facility is just marvelous.

My mother lived at Kemper for 7 months and recently passed away..I can not say enough about the wonderful, kind, and caring staff that works there. My Mother eventually needed hospice and both teams worked well together to provide the very best personalized care for my Mother. In her fragile state towards the end, everyone treated my Mother like she was a precious work of art. They were so careful not to hurt her. They spent time with her and tried to find foods that my Mother would/could eat. Sometimes we would find staff sitting next to her bed just holding her hand and talking to her, just to keep her company. Kemper was great. Thank you for your loving care!

Kemper House was a lovely and new facility, but it wasn’t going to meet our needs. The director was fine and took me on a tour. The try to keep the facility quiet and calm for the people with dementia.
