My mom has moved into Monterey Rehabilitation Center, Skilled Nursing & Memory Care. They are very involved with their patients. They have a lot of improvements and they have the drive to follow through with additional ways to improve patient care. They've been very helpful to us with settling my mom in there. I think it will be good. The upkeep of the place has not been good, though. They need to pay more attention to air conditioning issues, heating issues, roof issues, and repairs. But they are slowly making changes. It would be nice if they had the place painted to look more appealing to the patients instead of the dull beige, probably something nice and colorful. They could do some improvements to the food, as well. They could probably have more options for the residents to eat instead of just giving them what they have. They have a very well-maintained physical therapy room and it looks like they have what they need to do a good job at it. They have a few outdoor areas. My mom is in the memory care part of the nursing home and they have their own outdoor space for that, too.

For the last year that my husband's grandmother was alive, she lived at Monterey Care Center. She was about 76 when she passed away. She suffered from mild demenia and COPD. While at Monterey Care Center, she was very well cared for. The nurses and staff there cared very much about her safety, comfort and happiness. They always did everything they could to make our family comfortable while visiting grandma and also to assure us that she was being cared for while we were away. Toward the end of her life, when her dementia has worsened, we had a tough time dealing with her disease. The nurses and aides did a great job comforting us, educating us on what to expect and just by being there in the process. When she finally passed away, the staff never left our sides and we were fully assisted with getting all of her arrangements finalized and making sure everything was taken care of. I would highly recommend any one to Monterey.
