A family member of mine is in the care center and she isn't happy. It smells like urine so bad you can't hardly stand it. It's not very clean and the nurses and staff are not friendly at all. They don't let you know of anything that's going on with your family member so you never know. Also, she gets a terrible breakfast everyday. It's like the don't even care.

We have my loved one in Covington Care right now and we're not happy with it at all. There aren't enough aides or nurses around. On the night shift, there is only one nurse and two aides and there are 27 people on that floor. They don't have near enough staff to take care of all the patients that they have. They wouldn't even put my relative's teeth in for her to eat because they want her to eat pureed food. She got tired of it one time and I had to reprimand them. My relative also had fallen seven times in less than two months since she moved there. Ever since she has been there, they had one care conference with us. This last Sunday, I didn't find out about her falling until 12 hours after it happened. We got it in the book that they're supposed to call us, day or night, whenever something like this happens, instead they waited 12-1/2 hours before they let us know. This facility didn't even try to bill Medicare and her other insurance. Once they found out that she has money, they're billing us directly. The bills that we received were not even itemized. We don't know what we're really paying for.

My mom had been in the hospital and she was really weak. She had blood clots in her lungs and a little bit of pneumonia. She had to have a physical therapy, so she stayed at Covington Care Center for about two months. They helped get her back on her feet. She was using a walker, but she was off of that. Now she is using a cane and is doing really well now. My mom is now living with my sister.

My grandmother has been in Covington Care for the last 18 months. She was diagnosed with alzheimers so there is no improvement in her health, but it has deteriorated at a slower pace since being in the nursing home. Her room is always clean and well maintained. She has a private bathroom that is cleaned regularly and her room is kept smelling decent. The dementia untit has a beautiful fenced in area for patients to go out in. The nurses are rotated between the dementia until and other areas of the nursing home which I like because it gives them a chance to recharge. They are incredibly patient and encouraging. They feed 12 patients and get them cleaned up and talk to them and make them smile. When my grandmother does something new or positive they record it on their phone so we wont miss it. The dr. comes through weekly and always takes time to call and write notes. They always change her medication as asked (some meds make her almost comatose). Unfortunantly the price is expensive and not all can afford it.

This is a wonderful facility that goes out of their way to assure you the patients are well cared for. The staff is very alert and attentive and they clearly are compassionate. They are a long term or short term facility. They provide respite care for families who may need a break. The facility is modern and well maintained. The grounds are beautiful and the lobby and common areas are very nice. The menu appears to be well planned and offers healthy choices for all diets. There is an activity calendar for the patients filled with bingo, arts and crafts, programs and movies with fresh Popcorn. The families are encouraged to come as often as possible to participate in activities. I was impressed with the staff and their level of care and commitment. I would place my family or client here, very nice facility.
