My husband was at the Bowling Green Manor. It was a very tired facility and very old facility. The dining rooms were a very old community. Most of the residents are there for very long term until they choose to end their life. The staff was dependent upon who they work with, and some were excellent. I felt that my husband like a tomato plant needs a stake to grow up and so there was nothing there really more of a normal care situation. Food was basically warmed up, sofo or Gordon food or that kind of institutional food. The level of care was dependent upon the nurse that was on duty at that time. He had some good nurses and some nurses that weren’t. He fell a couple times and developed a very serious UTI while he was there. There was no chapel, no meeting rooms, and the activities that they do they do in the dining room when it is not being used. There were very limited spaces to sit with your family or with the other people and community. There was a lobby as you first come in the door, which can be depressing. I was not totally impressed. They have a therapy department, and I felt that his therapy appointments were shorter than what they could have been. I wasn’t overly impressed with the therapy staff.

I initially saw Bowling Green Manor from the internet. This is where I ended up moving my mother. I'm very happy with it actually. It has been two months now and they take very good care of her. Everything about Bowling Green is very good. They meet my mom's needs and they're doing a great job at it. Like if something is wrong with her physically, they would notice it right away. They also have speech and occupational therapy onsite. Food is great. With regards to activities, they have little trips, some regular activities like arts and crafts and bingo, etc. People would come in and play instruments. They even have church service every Sunday. Everything is great. I have no problem at all with this place.
