"My friend was in Advanced Health Care Of Overland Park for a couple weeks of rehab. It's a beautiful community, and the staff was nice to me. Her room was very nice, big, and roomy and had a nice TV. It was also clean because they cleaned it every day. The food smelled good to me. They would bring her meal to her room. It was a very nice place. They were very nice to my friend. The community was absolutely beautiful and had a huge aquarium in the lobby."

"If you're looking for therapy services for your loved one, look no further than Villa St. Joseph. The therapy team was fantastic, respectful and very enjoyable to be around. My father was there for 3 weeks following a hospital stay and they got him to meet all his goals and is now returning home. I highly recommend anyone who is looking for post-acute therapy services in a SNF setting. "

"Village Shalom was very nice. They had therapy for those who needed it. They also had swimming pool therapy. They kept it at a very high temperature, and they had equipment that can lower anybody into it. It was an excellent place. "

"What I liked best at Delmar Gardens of Overland Park are some of the staff, but I also don't like some of them. The atmosphere is good. I am no longer able to fend for myself, and they help me with fixing the meals, taking showers, general care, and medications. Most of the staff are very good. The rooms are small. It's supposed to be a two-person room, but if you get two people in here, it's very crowded. There's no place really to get away from your roommate or anything if you don't get a good one. The food, most of the time, is good. They serve a lot of rice, mainly different flavors of rice, which I am not fond of. I don't like rice, but I realize it's an economical thing to fix for a large group. I don't get into any of the activities they have, but they have quite a few. I watch a lot of TV. I have a DVR where I record shows that I want to see. They do as well as they can, but they seem to have huge amounts of rooms that they're responsible for in the housekeeping. They don't have the time to do any deep cleaning. They just don't have the time to do anything extra when they've got 50 or 60 different rooms that they've got to take care of daily. It's kind of impossible to add anything extra to it. Their housekeeping staff is excellent. The nurse's aides are one of the main reasons that I give a score of four because some of them are excellent and others are lazy."

"Mom is in rehab at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa right now. In most aspects, they are good. The one issue I've had is that they do not offer a choice for meals, and she has been a picky eater and has been refusing most meals. I have to advocate for her to get other food. There have been some communication issues where I'm not as informed, and they're not reaching out to me as much as the other facilities. I'm having to ask the questions rather than them just telling me what's going on. The staff has been very compassionate towards my mom. She seems to trust them more than the other facilities she's been at. The food itself looks good, and they offer alternatives. It's just that there hasn't been an easy way to order the alternatives thus far. She has not used any of the common areas. She just likes to stay in her room. She doesn't want to engage. Her room is spacious. It's not renovated, and the carpet is kind of old, but there's plenty of room to maneuver, and if we wanted to bring in some furniture, there's room for it. I've seen their calendar and I've walked past them playing bingo. They've got Bible studies. I believe there are art classes. Right now, she is covered by Medicare, so I haven't had to pay."

"You could check all that you have for Overland Park Kansas. You can probably find about 20 facilities, and I was at all of them whether it was progressive care or whether there was a buy-in fee. It didn't matter because the goal was being able to find a space that my parents can call home. They were very friendly, but they didn't have the space I needed to move my parents. My parents needed separate bedrooms and ample space especially for a wheelchair. I didn't feel that facility could accommodate it. It is a very nice place, but the apartment itself wasn't right for mom and dad. I only met the marketing staff that took me around, and they were friendly. If they offered a larger space for assisted living -- especially in that area -- they would probably find many more clients. "

"We needed a place to move my mom quickly and my sister suggested Garden Terrace. The staff were friendly to everyone. The private room she was in seemed decent. Mom seemed highly pleased but I think she needed to be with people who have higher cognitive function. They had arts, social gatherings complete with music, and even a greenhouse for gardening. The company and activities made her happy. "

"Awful place. My mother has been allowed to languish in pain and they won't give her any pain killers. They claim they have to wait for a doctor's prescription, although the hospital sent all orders and medication list when she was transferred. They also have not been monitoring her diabetes as they should. He levels have been running dangerously high and they don't seem to care. Finally, it takes over an hour for a nurse to respond when my mother calls."

"I stayed at Overland Park Nursing and Rehab Center for six weeks when I fractured my pelvis a year ago. They were very nice and they took good care of me. I had a very nice room. I didn't care for the food. I didn't think it was a very good diet to take for anybody with any type of ailment. It was alright for a rehab center, but I certainly would not want to live there permanently because of the smallness of the rooms. It would be me and my husband, so if we look for some place it would be an assisted living or probably independent living. I hate to say this, but some of the help didn't really have the interest of the patients at heart. "

"My mom is in Santa Marta. They have a continuing level of care. Their management staff is very friendly, helpful and supportive. Food is very good and they also got a variety of choices. You can eat in their regular dining room if you like or you can go to their small deli. I would highly recommend this place, however, the downside I feel is that it is quite expensive because you have to buy in. "

"This facility has been great each time I visit my grandmother. I went to visit her for her birthday and they were very accommodating. They allowed us to have a special lunch for her in the private dining room and also had a birthday celebration where we were able to bring cake for her and all of her friends at the facility. The employees are very friendly and remember your names even when you don't visit that often. "

"My friend had rehab at Lakeview Village. It was fabulous. The place was wonderful, although rehab is more like a hospital. The help was wonderful, the food was good and she loved it there. She would've stayed there forever; they babied her. The staff couldn't have been nicer to her. My friend wanted to move in there, but it's not a permanent situation. They didn't have a single room."

"I love their rooms, their amenities -- and the food is good. The personnel is wonderful. There is a lot of entertainment, bingo, exercise, devotion, church, and a variety of things. I'm just comfortable here, and everything is fine. I didn't like any of the others as I did Westchester Village of Lenexa (formerly Covenant Place). "
