My mother-in-law has been in a skilled nursing facility at Bethany Retirement Living for four weeks now. Of course, it's not like family and we realize that, but it's been a good experience. There's caring staff there. She's had the care that she's needed. When we put her on hospice, they were very cooperative, very understanding, and helpful in getting us to that place. They're the ones that suggested to us to put her on hospice. They have been nothing but amazing so far and they've kept in touch with us through phone calls with every little change that happens. We have been in touch as far as care conferences. They're really good about keeping us involved. We've been meeting with them regularly. My mother-in-law was from the transitional care unit. She was only there a short time and then they transferred her within the Bethany family so that we didn't have to disrupt her at all. She was just moved into a different room for skilled nursing. They have nice rooms. They're clean. There are individual bathrooms. She's in a private room and she's got a bright window. She had that with the transitional care unit also. It's a very welcoming feeling when you come in there and my mother-in-law called it cozy. The facility is very well laid out, easy to get around, and it's clean.

I toured Bethany Assisted Living. It was clean. It was nice. My tour lasted about six minutes. It seemed very rushed. And then, it was with someone that was not supposed to be the person that gave me a tour. Then, the director spent maybe two minutes with me at the end and just rattled through a bunch of stuff, handed me some paperwork, and then walked away. It was an older building, but it looked clean. It has a kind of office-like atmosphere. There was nothing in the dining area. It was all cleaned up and it just looked like a room with a bunch of tables and chairs in it. They weren't eating at that time. The rooms were kind of small, but the layout was good.

Bethany Retirement Living was nice, but it was further away from my in-law's local community and for people going to visit them or something like that, it was just further than they wanted it to be. It's a little harder to get to. It was a little dated and then there wouldn't have been like first-floor access. The room that was available was on the third floor. Otherwise, it was a nice facility, but we were already kind of hoping that we could get into the other one. The staff was very knowledgeable, very warm and welcoming though.

I was there a lot; never saw an RN. Much confusion with information. Front desk made it very difficult to visit though floor staff was great about that.

Bethany is a very nice facility. Extremely nice rooms, well kept, and an even better staff. You can tell that they really care about their residents and they have all levels of care.

I'm going to move into Bethany (Bethany Homes/Bethany Kinder House). They have all the activities, different groups for different things, and exercise equipment. It's very good. We had a good conversation with the people. The staff members were very good and informative.

My dad was at Bethany for a year and a half. I visited him often before he passed away. The staff was very positive, very welcoming, always there for questions, and very interactive. It was the only place that always engaged with family. They knew who all of us were. We had ongoing conversations, and they were just very good at that. They have a family room, and we had Christmas dinner there once that we brought to the nursing home. I really think that they lacked a lot of creativity in finding things that interest elderly male patients.

I thought it was nice because they gave various options of activities to take part in, but it wasn't required, and based upon your capabilities of taking care of yourself they had kitchens available to residents, so they wouldn't always have to eat the provided meals. He had access to computers and there was even a bird in a cage in the recreational room that he grew to like a lot. Also my grandfather got a room to himself and I thought that was nice as well.

My Father moved in to Bethany a month ago. We chose this facility because they had openings and the fact that the cost is much lower than others. His room is okay but he is really having a difficult time to move around considering his age, although he's using his walker to go from one place to the other. What I didn't like was the fact that there's a lot of extra charges that are not included in the literature. So I am surprised with that. Considering the time & the cost that I should find a place for my Father. That's why you really have to be careful with in making a decision. With regards to the food I think it's adequate. You'll only have two choices. Sometimes only one. What worries me is that my Father is diabetic and they don't have any special diets. But I see to it that I visit him 2 or 3 times a week. I collect his dirty clothes and I usually do his laundry. It's only the bed sheets, linens and towels that they usually collect. On a brighter side they caters different facility like the Full Skilled Nursing Care, Rehabilitation and wellness care. I will recommend Bethany since it's cost conscious.

My Grandmother was in Bethany Homes in Fargo North Dakota. This place was very friendly and welcoming. I loved to visit her there and would always be greeted by staff with a warm smile. The aids at the facility were truly one of a kind. My grandmother never had anything bad to say about the aids. It was truly a comfort to see that she was being treated like family. I would often worry about her being mistreated but after only a few visits my mind was at ease. Bethany Homes has such a great facility, they have many activities for they tenets to take advantage of. My grandmother loved to play cards and watch movies with her new friends. The rooms where like little apartments and it made you feel like you had your own space to have guest over and just to relax, as well as a full community room and pool. I know that she lived her last few years vary happy and it is thanks to the beautiful staff at Bethany Homes.

Most of the staff at Bethany Homes is friendly. They get to know the tenants, and are permissive of visits. The thing that I took issue with was the facilities. Everything felt old. Carpet was from the 80s, renovations had not been made. From what I know of my Grandfather when he stayed there, it was an alright place, but could have been better for these reasons. Room space I suppose was adequate, but could have been bigger. I never saw him get taken to the park, but I do know that this occured. It should have occured more, and probably does today. The best thing that could have been done would have been to create friendships with the other tenants. I know that this is done now, but it was a bit different when he was there. Many people just stayed in their rooms, unless the tenants were overly social.

My grandma has been in the nursing home for about 4 years. She didn't like it at first but that was more because she saw living there as a bad thing. Now that she is used to it she seems to really like it. She talks about how friendly most of her staff are and how they are always good about getting her clean close. She doesn't care for the food but thats because its not her homemade german food. She seems to enjoy the activities they have going on for them there. Overall I think it was a good choice for her to live.
