I have heard complaints about the food - not only from my family member but from other residents as well. I was disappointed in the lack of staff and special events for residents throughout Christmas and New Years. With covid restrictions I realize it is difficult to bring people in to entertain occasionally but how about a little music playing in the dining area or the living room. I do appreciate the employees who go out of their way to make residents feel welcome and wanted.

I liked Ecumen Evergreens of Fargo. The tour I had with them was great. The person who took us on the tour showed us the rooms and showed us the activity calendar and the main room (that is the dining room and the community room). She was very good. They had nice common areas. They had it sort of split into two between the dining room and the community area so that people could sit and watch TV or sit in recliners. Then other people who want to do puzzles can do puzzles in the middle of this facility. For the dementia unit, I thought it was well laid out for what you wanted to do. The room comes standard with a twin bed, a nightstand, a lamp, and a dresser. If you want that, you can have that. It's just part of the room and I like that. For my dad, he doesn't need all that stuff, but I thought that was a nice option. It also had the bathroom in there and it was just an open space. I felt very comfortable. It was warm and cozy. When I walked in, I liked it instantly. The staff all wanted to work there. They all seemed to be interacting with people. They were talking to the residents and everybody was doing something. I liked the warmth of it when you came in.

Ecumen Evergreens of Fargo seems small and older. They have pods, and the one pod I looked at was memory care. The rooms were old. The one room that they were going to place my mom in looked out, and all she would have seen is a white fence. The one employee that I met was wonderful. The facility was old and kind of dark. I don't think it was as clean as the place I chose. The room size would have been adequate, they had small, medium, and large rooms. The one that they had available for my mom was the small one that faced a white wall outside the window.

i realize my Mom has issues with her temper but I have also seen if she is handled correctly there is no issue. the staff know she hates being rushed and we call ahead if time to have her ready to go places like appointments, etc. I have had to call to remind them and they HAD forgotten, so they rush back to her to get her ready, and of course she fights them! this happens multiple times. her hair is greasy and unkempt and her clothes are filthy I realize she doesn’t cooperat but they could go in and take the dirty clothes and set out clean ones when she is sleeping

We are moving my mother-in-law into Ecumen Evergreens of Fargo Memory Care. It's a very nice, small, and intimate facility for people who have memory care issues. The rooms that we saw during our visit looked like just any other rooms at the memory care places that we had visited. They're clean and homey. The stuff that I've dealt with so far has been very pleasant. We haven't moved her into the facility yet -- that is still to happen next week -- but they were very helpful with the whole situation of moving her. The dining area is a big room where they facilitate their activities and everything else like their meals, as well as just sitting and visiting. They have activities for their residents too. I don't know what they are, but I've seen a calendar that has different activities for them.
