I got tired of trying to find another place for my son. Everybody had a reason. Sometimes it was about the insurance because his insurance didn't apply to them. So I just had to keep looking until I found somebody that would take him and his insurance and that's The Southwood. Their building is very nice and clean. Everybody is very helpful and nice. It is a good place. The staff has been wonderful and always wants to know what they can do to help. My son likes them and they just seem to be so family-oriented. They look after him like he's their brother. If there's anything he wants, they're right there to help. From what I have looked at, the meals look wonderful and smell very good. They have exercise and therapy, they get together in a big room and play bingo and do other kinds of things.

It was very clean and very caring. The facility is being remodeled at the moment. It looks as if it's going to have a fresh look and I am looking forward to sending my loved one there. The room was nice sized and able to support a full-sized bed, a dresser, and a television. It wasn't overly spacious, but it wasn't too cramped either. The staff was very friendly and professional. I did not meet a great deal of staff, but I was impressed with the level of knowledge and professionalism of the ones that I've met. There were fitness rooms, a TV room, and an outside courtyard. Overall, the facility seemed to be well equipped to accommodate someone with memory problems. I was impressed with them.
