My mom moved into Heritage Woods. I like the facility itself. It is very clean, and the staff are very nice. It's family oriented. Everyone is very friendly, including the residents. It's like one big family. It's actually like an apartment building, I would say, or more like a hotel or something. When you walk in the lobby, it is like a five-star hotel, maybe because of the way it is set up. The lobby very clean, too. They have the individual apartments when you go on each floor. They have the theater room, and the larger rooms on each floor. They also have a game room. There's an atrium on each floor. When they do their exercises in the morning, you really don't have to come down to the main lobby. You could do it up on your floor by looking over the atrium. They have several activities, and they keep them busy. They even take them out to different activities. They provide cable and internet for the residents. They take them to their doctors' appointments and all the meals are provided. The food is very good. They also clean the apartment weekly.

Heritage Woods was a nice facility. It included independent living, but we went through assisted living. I was impressed with it. The facility could probably stand a little bit of updating, but I got a feeling it's a somewhat older facility there. They had a good staff, very professional, and knowledgeable. They seem to have a great deal of concern for providing the proper level of care.

We looked at Heritage Woods and we're all so impressed with them. The place was very open and friendly, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Their rooms were very, very nice, and large, and the layouts were good. We haven't tried the food, but they serve three meals a day. And looking at the menu, it was a nice variety and seemed to be a very well-balanced offering.

I'm currently in Heritage Woods. With COVID, they are not doing anything, so it's really kind of an unfair time to be giving a survey on them, but I think they have done an excellent job. They have thought of ways to accommodate meals without gathering people together, and they are doing little activities and going door-to-door just to have some kind of social interaction with somebody rather than gathering folks together. Those were the kinds of things that I think they have done a good job of doing, coming up with different ways to make sure that people are getting some kind of social connection, but not having groups together. With COVID going on, I think they are doing as good a job as they possibly can. The cleanliness is excellent, and the upkeep seems very good. I have only been here four or five days, and I have been in the apartment most of the time, trying to get unpacked and such, so I haven't really been out and about very much. It's an older building, but it has been remodeled and been kept up to date.

Recently my mom joined Heritage Woods Assisted Living facility. She is not easy to be pleased, but she just loves her new apartment, food and care that is provided. Rooms are very clean, comfortable and very well ventilated. Each room has its own heating/cooling system. Staff is very friendly. They are visiting rooms very often and checking on residents wellbeing. The atmosphere in this facility is a family style. My mom just loves food that is offered. I am grateful to Move in director and to Marketing Director for a speedy way to do all of the paperwork and making my mom's accommodation ready. I am so happy that my mom is having a wonderful care and that she is happy where she resides now. Thank you.

Heritage Woods is about even with all other assisted living facilities. I really can't say anything good about any of them. My sister doesn't like the food. They deliver it to the room because of the virus, and it's been cold. She loves coffee, but it's always cold. The staff is nice, but not overly congenial. They have a couple of activities, and they started some physical therapy with her. The staff is just average. The facility is OK. She has a studio and it's big enough. She's messy, and they clean well. The cost is too much. We got her in there to receive better care and it's such a bad time to be visiting. They were letting people come and visit, but I had to visit through the window of her room, which was fine.

I love the huge fireplaces at Heritage Woods. The room was nice. The person during the visit was very nice, answered all my questions and very friendly. There was an exercise class going on while I was there.

Heritage Woods was OK. I didn't get a great feeling, but it was OK. The apartments were old. They provide cables, and all the utilities are included except for the telephone. I wasn't impressed with the staff, and overall, the place was just old.

Heritage Woods would be our top choice. It seemed to be more up-to-date. It was more like someone is going to live in a hotel versus an assisted living place. They have rec room and they have the overall atmosphere of walking into a very open and well-lit atrium type area. It was like checking into a hotel.

I like Heritage Woods. I like the food a lot and they have a good variety. The place is nice and they keep it clean. I've got a very nice place with a kitchen, living space, two bedrooms, and two baths. The grounds are very good and they have a lot of nice foliage and flowers. They have a good walkway and the facility is nicely-kept. They have some people who do a good job. They have good exercise equipment and people who come in and play music for us. The place is better than most and is a lot more reasonable than the place I used to be at.

This facility has really gone down hill. Upper management is slowly running the building as well as the employees in the ground. With residents that have lived here years moving to other senior living quarters. I'm lost as to why not one has stepped in and removed the sitting director from her position. Which I'd like to add is often spent out back smoking with Dining Service Director. They can be found running anyone's name in the ground. From residents to employees alike. No one is safe. Some residents are held with a higher regard than others. Before moving Mom out, I'd noticed the eye rolling that certain residents were receiving from upper management in the dining room. That was literally our breaking straw. No two people are the same. Nor are their paths in life but, I don't feel anyone should be held to any higher of a standard than the next. For these reasons alone, I speak my truth.

Heritage Woods was like a nice hotel. Their facility was great for an assisted living place. Their dining hall was beautiful and gave the residents food options. It was awesome. The offered entertainment, a lot of hands-on stuff, and exercises like Zumba.

I’m at Heritage Woods now. I would rate them very high; they’re a very good facility. Their dining room and kitchen facilities are superior than any place that I have ever been. They have a wonderful, marvelous staff who really take care of the people, and they’re very happy. Heritage Woods is very friendly, very caring, and it is an excellent place to live.

Heritage Woods was a very nice place with a very nice reputation. I had a very nice unit there. They had some activities, but I did not get involved. The employees were excellent, and the food was good. The residents were as nice as they could me be to me.

Heritage Woods was really nice. The atmosphere was good. The rooms were neat. My stepfather lived there for a long time. They have a library. They have cards and exercise groups. The staff seemed to be happy.

When Heritage Woods assessed my dad, they thought his memory was bad and that he needed to be in a care facility versus assisted living. However, the facility was very clean and very nice. The people seemed very happy, but it is more for people who can get around a lot better and don't have mental problems like dementia. They have no security for people who pose a flight risk. They can come and go as they please. Their activities were fairly typical -- for instance, they had Bingo, different outings and things like that. The rooms were very nice and large with plenty of storage area. They were very like much like an apartment minus the kitchen. What I like best about this community was the openness and airiness as well as the friendliness of the staff with whom I spoke. They should consider adding a secure area for people that do have dementia.

I think that Heritage Hills does a good job of taking care of residents. The facility is not ideal; it does seem a bit sterile and regimented. The building does smell vaguely of disinfectant and urine, but this is to be expected. The staff do go out of their way to provide entertaining events for the residents. When I visited my mother, there was live music in one of the parlors after lunch. My Mom seemed to really enjoy that. The outside areas are very well kept, and there are ample benches for sitting outside to enjoy the sunshine. The staff seems to be very caring. The attendants always address my Mom by name, and I notice that they are very well acquainted with other residents. I feel as thought the staff are encouraging, as well. Even if my Mom does not feel like participating in an activity, the staff members do try to encourage her, and offer assistance for her to go.

This facility seemed as if it was well run, however I did not see the entire facility, and I cannot comment on every aspect of it. I worked with some of the older residents; those who were in a later stage in their life, and needed just a little more help to get by. I played piano for a few of them, and afterwards we played bacce ball. The patients seemed very happy, and the workers were glad to have us help out. The facility seemed well staffed, well maintained, and overall, the morale seemed high. Again, I cannot comment on aspects of the assisted living facility outside of what I experienced that afternoon, however I would recommend this facility for elderly in the winston salem area. Happy Retirement!
