My mother is in Piedmont Crossing. She's in full care and it's pretty good. The rooms are nice. The facility is really nice, clean, doesn't smell like urine, and nicely decorated. The food is not good though. The common area and dining area are nice. It's well-maintained and modern. The staff is very nice and very caring. It's expensive, but it's probably one of the nicest centers in Thomasville.

We are on the waitlist for Piedmont Crossing. We toured it and we selected a patio home. It's more like a regular home and it's not in the main campus area. I think we'll be able to start with independent living. You can migrate to assisted living if you need to, and then they also have skilled nursing. We get full access to all the main building amenities. They had a gym, recreation, and a dining area. They have field trips and stuff on site, and they have a movie night. They have about everything we would need now. The room is a two-bedroom, and a bath and a half. It's got a little front porch and a back-covered back patio. It's 1100 square feet with a living room and a kitchen. We will cook mostly since it's got a full kitchen. It was big on my list to have a full kitchen and a washer and dryer.

I highly recommend this facility. My mother spent a month in rehab and she was sorry to leave. She received the kind of care money can't buy. Everyone we met couldn't have been nicer, more professional and kind. The nurses were amazing, the rehab staff top rate, the food was great and they tailored her meals to her taste. They took care of everything! I could go on and on with glowing reviews. This place was a godsend to our family. We will be forever grateful for their kindness.

Piedmont Crossing is such wonderful place. My mom moved to Piedmont Crossing 5 years ago and I can't say enough good things about it. After losing my dad, my mom needed to be around people. We found the best at Piedmont Crossing. Mom started living again. She smiles, she's happy, she's met new friends that fill her day with joy. On top of the social benefits, mom gets to enjoy her home without the worries of upkeep like mowing her grass and home repairs. And if she needs care later on, they have that too. I'm so glad I encouraged mom to make the move to Piedmont Crossing. Our family is happy knowing mom is good hands.

My mom is happily ensconsed at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville, North Carolina, which is her hometown. It is a full retirement community, which has everything from cottages to nursing home facility and in-between. It is associated with the United Church of Christ, and that was her choice of place, but she's very happy there. She is in a section of this facility that is called the Pavilion; the people living there are those who are still independent minded and capable to do their own ADL's, but there is assistance available in this building, and they also have the pendants that they wear so that they can press the button if they need help immediately. When we walked into the lobby, it looked like something out of HGTV, there was a receptionist to greet us, and all the staff that we had talked to have been extremely friendly and helpful. The residents all seemed to be very well satisfied. They all speak to you in the halls even if they don't know you. I thought that was a good sign that they were satisfied in being there. The dining room is lovely. Just like in a restaurant, you get a menu with lots of choices, and you're served at the table. I would highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for placement for a parent. If I were calling it a car, it would be a Cadillac or a Mercedes for sure. A number of the people she knew from her church had gone out there through the years and had given it high praise, so she actually said this is where she wants to go. They have a full activity program, and for those who are ambulatory enough, they have scheduled outings a week to go to banks and grocery stores, Walmart -- that kind of thing. And then, they have trips that they plan to various cultural and social events around the general area. There are lots of things going on.

I like Piedmont Crossing; the staff is courteous, the place is clean, it didn’t smell at all, and you can talk to the management anytime you wanted to. The food was good. They’re were very helpful. My mom likes it, but she wanted to be in Greensboro.

Mom had stayed in Piedmont Crossing, which were very nice apartments. They had three meals a day. She was there for two years. However, she is in an early stage of dementia and we felt like that it was more of our fault than their fault for not understanding the care. We were under the impression that she would be able to transition into one of the memory care places, but it turned out they didn't really offer memory care. They had medical care and independent care, but there was no mental health care there and she wasn't really for medical because she was in a very good condition. However, her dementia caused confusion and caused her to forget to have her meals. She had a nice two-bedroom apartment and we furnished it with her household furniture so it looked like a little slice of her home. It had two bathrooms. It was pretty and it was on the ground floor. The reason we chose that was more for the size and so we could spend the weekends with her. The food wasn't great and the meal seemed to vary in quality from time to time. The service in the dining room also varied from time to time. There weren't many activities so you had to take the initiative for yourself. My mother had to sign up for something herself and it's up to her or us find out for something and then remind her about it. They took them out on outings and they had bingo. Some of the staff were good and some of them were not. Sometimes the phone calls we would have were distressing because they didn't know how to call and put you at ease. She wandered off the grounds one day and I had a terrifying phone call from them on my cell phone that said: "This is an emergency phone call regarding your mother. She wandered off of the facility grounds and was found her lying on a ditch by the side of the road." And I said in horror: "Oh my God! Is she okay?" And she said: "Oh yes! She's fine". And I said: "That what you should have started the conversation with. That's not how you tell someone what you just told me". She didn't understand that and that's frustrating. They told us that we had to come and stay with her round the clock. We had to pay for round-the-clock care until we could find another place for her and that's what we did.

This is probably one of the most serene places I have been to yet but that is because of where it is located, away fro the major cities. The building is beautiful and so are the surroundings. The staff seems to know what they are doing and what they are talking about. The patients are happy which is a bigger plus in my book. Not a frown in the whole place. A woman stumped her toe on the foot of a chair and it hurt. I could tell. People rushed to her aid. Before they could get to her, she told them to back off and then she yelled "Shut the front door!" Some of us knows what that means. I busted out laughing. I did not get a tour or a brochure or even a chat with management but I did talk to staff and they said they loved working there. Five stars and then some.
