I don't do reviews often but realized this would have helped me when I was searching. My father was a memory care resident at the Landings of Mill River, he passed away in July. Prior to getting there he was a resident at a large national chain of assisted living facilities for about four years. I had no complaints at the previous place but when I got to the Landings of Mills River I saw another level of care. The staff was attentive, caring and on top of my father's needs. They are focused on not only his comfort and his physical health, but also his mental health by engaging him in daily activities, leading to a 'happier dad'. The physical therapist was spectacular, such a kind, patient man. The nurses were beyond good, always focused on the well being of those under their care. The price, compared to the national chain, was much better, in this case I paid less, my father got better care and I slept easier knowing I had found the right place for my dad. The building is brand new, the facilities are excellent. I recommend the Landings of Mills River. Pat K

My Mother had an Acute yeast infection due to lack of bathing, overmedicated two weeks and more! DO NOT place anyone you care about at this facility. Understaffed and their food is horrible.

My dad is a resident of The Landings of Mills River. The staff is very supportive and caring of the patients and their family. The community is probably not even half-full yet, so the work into the new place was nothing major. Its very clean and open. In-house activities include the game room, a small theater room, and a coffee house sporadically. They have therapies and a nice outside courtyard to walk in. Organized activities-wise, there are various games that the recreational therapist does, but it isn't in full-swing yet because there's not enough clients there. They have two dining rooms, one for the memory care side and one for the regular side. They're real nice and they're set up formally. They have high ceilings, which isn't necessarily a good thing, because other people are hard of hearing. The rooms are an average size compared to others we've looked at in the area, and they come furnished (if you want that). The furnishings are quite nice, with a full-sized bed, armoire, nightstand, and the bathrooms are nice with zero steps. There's also a walk-in shower with full clearance and a bench. They also have guard rails everywhere that they need. Even the regular assisted living is still kind of a locked unit. It gives them protection from the outside so that people don't just wander in.
