I have found a place for my aunt. It's called North Pointe of Mayodan. I like it. When you go in the door, on one side, it's kind of assisted living, but if you go to the left, they have another door, and it's locked where they can't get out. It's for dementia care. They got rooms and all in their facilities and stuff, and I like that. The staff were nice and friendly. They acted like they care about the people. They showed me both assisted living and memory care. I'm really satisfied.

We toured North Pointe of Mayodan. First of all, we liked just the initial cleanliness and organization of everything. Presentation was spot on and then we met the staff, who were very friendly, and very helpful with any questions or concerns. They're talking and then they're talking with some of the residents there, and everybody just had positive words to say about the facility and their staff. We just got very pleasant vibes while we were there. The staff was very friendly, very personable, and very professional. She was phenomenal and part of what sold us on that place. The only thing I can say on the food, is I know other residents that stay there, that are outside our family and friends, and they go and eat with them very often, and say that it's very good food, and the residents don't complain.

North Pointe of Mayodan was a little bit dated. I didn't get a real good vibe that it is where I wanted to place my mother. We toured both memory care and assisted living sides. The person who gave the tour was very, very thorough, very knowledgeable and certainly listened to our interest in my mom's care needs. I thought that she did a very solid job. We saw private and semiprivate rooms. They seemed to be very good in accommodation and things like that. I think one of the negatives was it just didn't smell real good in the hallways. Another negative was the bathing tub was out of order at that time. I don't know if that was just bad timing or if it was going to be a long-term consequence. That just kind of set me back a little bit that it's out of order. How long has it been out of order and when is it going to be fixed. That was a concern as well. They explained some of the things that they would do. It didn't seem like there was anything outdoor like on the patio or anything like that. Some of the activities would take place indoor with a noodle ball or something like that. They explained that the meals would be given in the dining hall.

We took a tour of North Pointe of Mayodan yesterday, and it seemed like a nice place. It was really clean, and the staff looked good. It seems everybody is doing a good job. They probably have 50 or 60 rooms or apartments, and they have all kinds of stuff going on. They were putting together puzzles. They were doing a little paint by numbers. It was just a little bit of everything. There were two or three different places they were using. The have a dining area. They have a couple of what they call parlors, where they could sit around and talk. It all seemed to be good.

North Pointe of Mayodan was nice, clean, and neat. The administrator was helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms were nice and all different sizes. The dining area was very clean and neat, and it had a homey feel to it. I was asked what my wife's interests were, and the lady that showed me around wrote all that down. They had activities for everybody.

North Pointe of Mayodan is a very nice. If I had to pick a place for my mom I would consider this. The place is very clean, nicely decorated, and homey. Also, the staff member that I met was very friendly.

Well as soon as we stepped inside on of the nurses(I think), greeted us and asked if we needed to be pointed in a certain direction. She was very nice and walked us right to her in the activity room. She was talking to another resident there, so we joined them on the sofas and my mother and her started to gush all over my son. While they were talking and catching up I was kinda being nosy around us. They did have a nice little place. I guess if you could get used to it, it did have a homey vibe. I did notice that they nurses or aids weren't all over the place. I don't know if they were short handed or just busy somewhere else126.The place didn't smell bad, you know how if you go to certain nursing homes it has this smell that is not pleasant, that was one thing I did notice right away. Besides those things there really isn't anything else that sticks out in my mind. Overall I would say that North Pointe seemed like a decent place to be living at.
