What I like about having my mother at The Village of Kinston is that it's a family environment. It's small and it's a family setting. The safety of the residents seem OK. The memory care is setup like a family room and kitchen combination, with the rooms outside of that big room. So, it's like walking into a family room. There's also an outdoor area. They're in the process of doing a major remodel; they're painting and doing the cabinets. They're doing a big upgrade, and it looks really nice. They told me that there'd be transportation to an outside doctor if it's needed, but they have a setup where a doctor comes here. If she needs a specialist they'll provide the transportation. She tells me she's eating more of a variety of things than she's ever eaten in her life. They get three meals and three snacks. Since the place is small, the staff is not overwhelmed with people.

I've been to The Village of Kinston several times because I have relatives there. The staff were very caring, and it was very clean. The rooms were very neat and roomy. The place was very friendly, quiet, and calm. The dining area is very nice, and it looked clean and appetizing. I am not sure what they do, but I know they do games and activities -- but as to what they are, I don't know. When I visited, they were doing games and exercising.
