I moved my mom into Cherry Springs about 2 months ago and it has been great so far. She was living at home with me and I started to feel I was doing her an injustice as I juggled my family and her care. Since moving in she has gotten involved in activities been more social and just seems overall happy. It is an older building but the staff is fantastic as you can tell they are truly caring and attentive.

We went to a place called Cherry Springs. We were not impressed at all. We didn't feel like it was clean enough, and it was crowded. The only thing that I would say is the best thing about it was that it was secure. You couldn't just walk in. They had to come and unlock the door for you. But we weren't crazy about it. People there smoked, too. With regard to the staff that gave the tour, instead of her kind of volunteering, I had to ask a lot of questions. The office was messy and crowded and she was like 90 years old, but a very nice lady. It looked like they had a room where people could go sit and watch TV, but I didn't see any activities. Overall, they need to get more organized, and they need to get it cleaned up. It was just like chaos in there.

Cherry Springs Village dealt with people that needed assisted living, not nursing care. The residents had to be physically fit to be there. It seemed like it was nice but not fancy facility with a more down-to-earth atmosphere.

The patient is a long time friend and former employee who was transferred to Cherry Springs over a year ago from a nursing home. She is in a 2 person room with another female . When we visit we cannot help noticing that the other woman has been allowed to take over more than half of the room with her furniture and personal items , leaving little space for the single bed , night stand and small dresser that belongs to our friend. We have not said anything because we are not family and apparently her brothers who are her only family , have not asked for or demanded equal living space . I would have thought that the staff or management might see this situation and make it equal however they have not. All patients should be treated with respect and given equal space in their rooms . I feel this is not happening at Cherry Springs when patients do not have family as advocates who express and speak up .

My relative was a resident there. Do not walk away. RUN away as fast as you can. The staff was not friendly and some were rude to the point of being abusive. They were not concerned about problems and when I expressed concern to the administrator, I was thrown out of her office. I moved my relative as soon as possible.
