I visited the facility and was given a tour. The apartment I was shown was small, with just a galley kitchen. I was told that the facility is "pet friendly", but found later that their "friendliness" toward cats requires that they be declawed (front only or front and back was not specified). Requiring an animal be maimed to live there is not, in my opinion, pet friendly.

We visited Presbyterian Village at North Church. Everything was very nice, clean, and the place was quiet. The layout of the apartment was also very nice and was what we were looking for. The person who gave us the tour was very informative and was able to give us the pricing. She's very familiar with the area and knows a lot about activities that my dad might like. Most of the apartments there have their own kitchen facilities. Everything seems to be in place. I spoke to the residents and they all seemed to be happy.

Presbyterian Village at North Church was very nice and would be very nice for normal senior people, but my brother is mentally handicapped and needs a little bit more supervision and security. As far as for shopping, it was very convenient. I think it was a little bit more geared for elderly couples. The apartments available were like normal apartments with kitchens. The staff was fantastic. It was a little bit more reasonably priced than the other facility I saw.

I have been looking for a place for my father in law for several months. The overall process has been extremely trying of family members' patience, as there are several issues that need to be balanced when looking for a place for a loved one. This can be especially difficult when the loved one can be set in their ways, and dealing with their individual struggles. Presbyterian Village at North Church is my hands down favorite choice for a senior living apartment. The apartments are lovely, but what sets it apart is the "feel". While touring, we meet a woman who simply could not be more excited about her apartment nearing readiness for her to move in. We also experienced a warm, friendly, happy and peaceful feeling in the common rooms as we spoke with some residents. Working with my father in law to move to an apartment that is a better fit for his mobility has been a long process that has been difficult. This is where I must say that the facility administrator has been a truly exceptional. Ms. Jenna Bichler has showed true caring and concern in working with me to find resources for my father in law to meet his fuller set of needs, such as for transportation and social activities. The location is wonderful and provides convenience to the village while having a certain amount of peaceful seclusion. Particularly gratifying were some of the patio gardens that some of the residents maintained, which I think really shows the caring and joy that the residents have in their community. DSW
