My mother-in-law is at Brightview Tarrytown. Its price is competitive. It's a beautiful, new, and very clean place. All of the employees, the aides, and the maintenance crew are very nice and very helpful. The dining hall is open 24-hours a day. The food is very good too. The activities are very nice. They have happy hour, musical entertainment, jewelry making, Bingo, movies, and discussions. They have lots of variety.

If you are in good health in both mind and body when you arrive at Brightview, you will certainly enjoy the activities, dining with your friends and walking around the beautiful grounds. But once you begin to decline physically and mentally, there seems to be a lack of staff and personal attention. We had to hire outside aides. The set up of the Memory Floor looks great but is not practical for residents suffering from dementia. If you are in a suite, there are two doors separating you and the hall and the staff. The staff that is there is good but limited.

We saw the assisted living and memory care at Brightview Tarrytown-Senior Assisted Living & Memory Care. I thought it was super nice. It's smaller than the other place we toured, so it was a little bit more intimate, but it has beautiful grounds. I thought it was very, very clean and very, very nicely kept, and I thought the staff was extremely friendly-- all the staff. I think the amenities there were amazing. They have a bar, they have little areas where there are snacks, and they had outdoor spaces where people could go and sit. They've got trails so people can walk on their property, which is very appealing to me. The grounds were very nicely kept and they allow dogs. So one of the ladies in the backyard had a dog, she was just sitting out there with her dog. So as long as you can take care of your dog, you can have a dog. I asked if we could try the food, but they said due to Covid, that wasn't possible. The only issue, which is good and bad, is that it's on a major busy road.

We were impressed with Brightview Tarrytown. It caught our fancy. The rooms were lovely. The 1-bedroom was quite impressive and had a nice terrace door to go outside right on the ground floor. It was specifically rooms, not just an alcove or a section, which seemed large enough to accommodate anybody's furnishings. We also saw a bright, clean, and beautiful studio with a handicap bathroom, but it was a little small. They had a nice outdoor space and a nice café where you can have tea or coffee all day. You can go to breakfast, lunch, and dinner whatever time you choose in their dining area, which was interesting and different. They also had a library and a theater room.

Brightview was beautiful, decorated, and had lots of nice amenities. It's bright and modern, and it has a beautiful view on top of the hill. The rooms were lovely, spacious, and clean. They had Bingo, painting classes, they were driving people to flower shows, to the theater, and the movies. They had a garden where the residents can plant and develop. They also had little food bars in a corner, that are open all night.

Brightview Tarrytown has the things that would meet Mom's needs. They have a lot of activities, like bingo, entertainment, music, arts and crafts, and outdoor get-togethers during summer. Everyone greets you when you pass by. They have an exercise room and a beauty salon where they do nails, too. They also have housekeeping and laundry. The staff is helpful and pleasant.

My father is at Brightview Tarrytown. It’s very beautiful, and the food is good. It’s an enhanced care place, so they can take care of his medical needs as well.
