The staff here is so mean. Today I went by this facility to get information and I saw the front desk girl giving one of the residents the WORST attitude. She just kept yelling that it was NOT her business and to go ask someone else for help. For this to be a place that is supposed to be "caring" for the elderly they have the worst staff with no compassion. This place needs to get a better staff and people should really do their homework and see how their loved ones will be treated.

My father chose Mariners Residence because of the combination of cost and having the available medical attention seven days a week. Having the opportunity to have medical attention is important to him. To me personally, I don't think it is the place, but the proximity of the location to where we live. It is driving like ten minutes at the most, and being that close is important. I wouldn't recommend this to other people. I have visited some other locations that were much nicer, cleaner, and had more amenities. I think the main reason why my father selected it was because of the low cost and having the medical attention. It wasn't even a choice for me, and I was surprised when he selected it.

Father has been at St Cosmas & Damian for a year. It is not that it is dirty, it is just old, the rugs are old and stained. They keep it immaculate, but everything is old, so I am hoping if it is bought out, that a lot of that will change, but the rooms are very big, they each have their own bathroom. The bathrooms are nice sized. Everything is kept spotless on the floors, the walls, everything is kept good. The only thing I am not happy about is come warm weather months, there is no central air in this place. If you want, you can buy a specific air conditioner. You have to pay extra for that to run, the same thing with cable, but in the common areas, there is air conditioner. He likes the food here. The people take care of them well. I recommend it very highly, it is just not as upscale. I am not too happy with the administrator. There was a gentleman that drank and bullied other residents. When I went to the administrator, she was so in tuned on who told me what rather than the issue at hand. She is good to the people, but they don't really want to hear from the residents. The boss did do something about it. Since then, I haven't had any other complaints. The two nurse's aides that dispense medicines are very good and helpful to my father.
