I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I admitted my Mom to King Street Rehab after a few falls, when it became obvious that she needed long-term care. Living at home with an aide was no longer possible. The staff at King Street Rehab were very supportive, and helpful. I would especially like to thank Christina, the Director of Resident Services. She was always there to answer our questions and try to make things better for Mom. The atmosphere is always very friendly and caring. The facility is always very clean, bright, and cheerful for patients and visitors, with lots of large windows overlooking the beautiful manicured grounds outside.

Worst place ever for long term residents. Most of the staff is amazing but so UNDERSTAFFED. They make you hire aids if your family member is walking. Let's be clear, they don't like walking residents. MONEY MONEY MONEY and unkind

I’ve seen many rehab/nursing facilities in Westchester County NY but none exceed King Street Rehab in quality, professional staff, OT/PT facility and experts, pleasant, clean environment and all-around ideal facility. If I need a facility again, I’d be fortunate to be admitted to LSR!

This is a nice place! Very clean, food is fine, everyone is friendly. I can see how hard the entire team works and how much they care. HOWEVER right now - July 2022 at the time of this review - this facility is DANGEROUSLY understaffed. Call buttons go unanswered for up to an hour especially around meals when the few staff on hand are completely swamped. It's not just uncomfortable, it's unsafe. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my loved one there without a family member constantly present.

My father was taken to King Street Rehab after being hospitalized for a serious fall two years ago and arrived there with multiple injuries. The cold, January night that he arrived by ambulance, I cried with gratitude as I watched nurse Donna and an aide lovingly wash his body, dress him, and tuck him into a warm, clean bed. He moaned with relief and thanked them. My father was nursed and aided by the physical therapists and staff at King Street and eventually released to home, healed and walking again. Recently, my Dad returned to King Street Rehab after another fall, and at that point his dementia had advanced considerably. It was time for long-term care for him as living at home with an aide was no longer possible. Throughout that difficult period everyone at King Street Rehab supported not only my father but our family as well. The atmosphere is always very friendly and caring. The facility is always immaculately clean, bright, and cheerful for patients and visitors alike, with lots of large windows overlooking the lovely grounds and sky outside. It was enormously comforting for my Dad to see sunshine and natural beauty through the winter months. The staff was very attentive to him and always patient, understanding, and gentle with him, even through times of non-cooperation, and sometimes combativeness, because of his dementia and declining health. Right up to the end of his life, they spoke to him and cared for him with kindness and respect. We cannot thank the nurses, aides, and staff at King Street Rehab enough for all the loving care they provided my father and our family. We very highly recommend this facility as the best alternative to home care to be found in Westchester County.

King Street Rehab is well appointed and clean. The rooms are lovely, yet expensive. The management cares about nothing other than receiving payment immediately and mopping the corridors continuously. The staff in the rehab are friendly and do try their best to get results when they actually make time to see the patients. My mom’s meds were always wrong and late in delivery. She could wait hours for help to get to a bathroom. If I wasn’t around she would have never gotten out of that bed or wheelchair that they left her in the hall for hours. The worst, a few hours before discharging she fell out of the bed after screaming for hours for help. This was witnessed by her next door neighbor. 5 broken ribs later off to the hospital to pass within a week. King Street needs to be shut down! It’s an awful place to leave your loved ones.

My Dad was a rehab patient and we found multiple issues. First, the management is not responsive. My Mother left multiple messages for the Rehab Director asking for call back on important issues. Never once was her call returned. That alone is a big red flag. When a love one is a patient you assume that communications with management staff would be at least acknowledged. To not once have the courtesy of a call back is troulbling. There were instances where staff members were utterly hostile to my Dad. He even questioned why a. staff person was treating him that way. It is stressful enough to be in a facility and especially during Covid restrictions If you can not train your staff to be civil you have a problem. There were some staff members who were fine but it only takes one person who treats you with contempt to make your stay uncomfortable. There were a number of other instances with medications conflicts. My review is until they can address the lack of communications by management along with some staff issues stay away.

I could not have chosen a better place for my sister to live! Peace of mind and comfort come to mind when thinking of King Street. I know my sister is in good hands. All of the staff are fabulous. They are knowledgeable, attentive, and caring to say the least. They truly develop special bonds with each and every resident. Besides the staff, another notable comparison to other nursing home facilities is that King Street is always sparkling clean inside and out with beautiful grounds and decor that are bright and cheery . They also keep the residents engaged at all times with music, trivia, bingo, puzzles and more! You never see a resident sitting alone all day in a wheelchair. They have especially gone above and beyond this past year in ensuring the safest protocols possible during covid. My sister is in the safest place she can be. From the bottom of my heart thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Don't know what i would do without you! Amelia & Sue

We have been very pleased with the care and support that our mother/mother-in-law has received over the past many years while living at King Street Rehab. They have met her complex medical needs with appropriate treatments that have been provided in a caring way. Her specific caregivers provide needed services with kindness. Birthday celebrations have been especially appreciated. Her room is clean and nicely appointed. Telephone and email communications are welcomed and are timely.

My cousin is a full time resident and I can attest to his happiness at the facility. The staff is always very responsive to both him and my inquiries. It is always difficult moving a loved one into the right facility and my family members and I have been very satisfied with the caring and professionalism of King Street Rehab Nurses, care givers and the overall staff members. - Hats off to them all!

My father went in to receive rehab for his hip and we had to take him out do to the horrendous care. He lost 15 pounds, contracted a severe infection, and the staff did not give him his prescribed medications. This place should be shut down immediately.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I recently spent two weeks at King Street Rehab after a knee operation. I had heard many good things about this facility and I am so glad that I was able to rehab there From my first day everyone was friendly and helpful I was welcomed by Christina who explained everything that we needed to know to my wife and me. My room was very lovely. It had a big window which made the room bright and it looked out on the beautiful grounds. The room was immaculate. There was a bathroom, a phone, and a nice tv in the room. I also visited the lunchroom and gathering area where I played games with other residents. The staff were all friendly, helpful and caring. The physical and occupational therapists were excellent! They were professional and most encouraging, which I really needed. The nurses and pharmacist were on top of things and made my stay an easy one. When I left on Thanksgiving Day I was vastly improved from when I hobbled in. Do not hesitate to rehab at King Street! It’s top notch!

Please do not put anyone you care about in this wretched place. Our sweet mother went there for rehab and it was a nightmare! I stressed that she was never to be left in a wheelchair in the hallway as I witnessed many of the other residents were sadly left for hours on end. We found her on the floor in a hallway abandoned in the evening and no one was even around as we searched for help. It’s heartbreaking to see elderly people treated like animals as they are in this place. My family and I will never get over the terrible care our mother was given and would strongly advice anyone else not to put their loved one in this horrific place.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I came to King Street Rehab after having major ankle and foot surgery. A wheelchair was the only way I could get around. Having lost my husband and my mobility within a few months, I was devastated. At King Street, I found an amazing staff of warm and caring people. It was difficult to be completely dependent on others, but the women who cared for me made it easier. If I needed something, I pressed a button and someone came. If I preferred to eat in my room, someone brought me food. There were always choices of food, if you didn’t want what was scheduled on the menu. They were very accommodating. The physical and occupational therapists were encouraging and challenged me to do what they knew I was capable of doing. They taught me skills to make me as independent as possible in my room. The ambience at King Street Rehab is unlike what you would expect at a rehab facility. There are birds in cages that add life and beauty to the hallways. It makes the experience of being there more pleasant, not only for the residents but for their guests. My granddaughters loved coming to visit me, and enjoyed the cookies and ice cream they were given by staff members. No one wishes to spend weeks in a rehab facility but, if you must, I would highly recommend King Street Rehab.

Unfortunately my mother has made the rounds of rehab facilities in Westchester and NONE of them come even close when it comes to sub-acute rehab. (Burke is also excellent, but it is an acute rehab and in a different category.) One of the places my mother was in was so bad that I wrote a five-point complaint with the department of health, but King Street restored my faith in rehab facilities and is the ONLY place I will ever consider in the future. The staff is caring, attentive, on top of things and communicative. The facility is IMMACULATE (no funky odors) and they take care of patients' laundry as if they were staying in a five-star hotel. Their rehab facilities and staff are fabulous and it is not only clean but bright, cheerful and beautifully maintained. If you need a rehab facility in Westchester, look no further than King Street Rehab.

This place is lovely to look, at clean but the staff and the service is horrible. Patients ring for a nurse or an aide and they ignore the light and don't even check to see if the patient fell or got hurt. They had my mother sit in a wheel chair for 12 hours and didn't come to her room to put her in bed until 9 or 10 at night. They gave her therapy and told us she was ready to go home. When she got home she didn't even know how to use the walker to get out of bed, the chair or the toilet. I don't know who assessed her but they were totally wrong on her progress. I would never put any family member in this facility.

King Street Rehab and Nursing is an outstanding community. Their friendly and competent staff go beyond measure in order to make their residents happy. I have .had the fortunate experience to have my mother-in-law stay there twice over the past 2 years for rehab. their rehab dept is amazing. they had her up and walking within days. of her admission. The nursing team as well as the aides are caring, attentive and pleasant. Always smiling. I have recommended numerous people both personally and professionally to send their loved one to King Street.

I am a professional that assists families in find assisted living / dementia living facilities. for their loved ones. I have been working with King Street for the past 5 or so years now. and have assisted many patients that have discharged to assisted living/ dementia living.. I work closely with these family members and always get feedback from them on their experiences at the rehabs. The overall feedback that I receive from families about their experience at King Street is excellent. Professionally, I find their rehab does a great job and their staff to be very caring as well as long tenured. This is a family owned facility with several family members from two generations on site daily.. I have sent my family members to them and will continue to do so. They also get many patients from Fairfield County hospitals as well.

My father (90) had two visits to KSR, firstly for rehab after a heart valve replacement and somewhat later for recovery from an infection which turned from rehab to palliative care until his death. King Street is the Rolls Royce of rehabs that we looked at and returned without a second thought for my father's second stint there. The staff are super competent and have a buoyant attitude even when confronted with someone who is dying. They manage that with grace and dignity. I would recommend this family-owned business to anyone, whether it be for rehab or as a nursing home. From my point of view, the key question is "would you put your parent here?". A resounding "yes."

The facade of this facility is lovely Beautiful grounds clean rooms and nice waterfalls The care is non existent. You ring for help no one answers no one comes no ones at the desk and if you're lucky enough to find someone they say its not their section Patient alarms go off no one shows up for 10 mins so the patient could have been on the ground all that time. If you show concern over lack of care they suggest to you that you can always transfer to another facility. I would never recommend this facility and its also not staffed well and the state should pop in and ck on how poorly things run

What a breathtaking experience! From the welcoming Receptionists, to the support staff, everyone is just so friendly and inviting. The nurses are professional and thorough. In addition, this is the cleanest facility I have EVER been to. The Rehab is top notch as I had been recommened by many people. When people genuinley love their job, it shows in their performance and the Resident's and families benefit from that.

Horrible!!!! If all you're looking for is an elegant entrance way and an annoying parrot then this is the place for you. If you're in need of any care at all you should look elsewhere! The staff is beyond negligent!!! They might as well not even be there!! They have a "doctor" (Dr. Jacobson) who comes in once a week. I am highly doubtful that this man even has a medical degree. As for the "nurses" and "aides" they are highly skilled in IGNORING the patients and they are extremely rude!!!

This facility is the worst! All they care about is getting their money. I have never dealt with such rude and unprofessional people. They are short staffed and act like they are doing you a favor be letting you stay there. As if it is for free with the high prices that they charge to stay at the facility!!

As the only caregiver for my 95 year old mother, I needed a vacation. I chose King Street Rehab for "respite care" for my mother because she was rehabilitated at King Street Rehab after two valve replacements and a hip fracture. I was very familiar with the excellent care the facility provides. It is clean, the food is good and the staff is exceptional. The Executive staff is welcoming and reassuring; the nursing care is professional; the aides are attentive, caring, and personable. You can see they enjoy their work and care about the residents they are assigned to. I recommend King Street Rehab for "respite care" or long term care or rehab. I would like to thank the entire team for the excellent care they gave to my mother. She told me she had a nice vacation and was happy while she was staying there. I also had a nice vacation because I knew I did not have to worry about how my mother was being cared for. Signed, A Loving Daughter

We looked at quite a few facilities before deciding that this was our top choice for my mother after a serious illness. We initially were thinking King Street would be third on our list based on the high reputation of some other facilities but ended up being our first choice. One other highly regarded facility seemed more interested in our money than anything else. The other couldn't even take the time to follow up with facility tour requests - then said they would put her in the old wing and never move her to the new facility when an opening came available. King Street was by far the most accommodating given my travel schedule for work and my tour was given by Colleen, the head of phys therapy which sold me. Still we were nervous whether we made the right decision or not. After a short while we realized that the entire staff was so caring and compassionate and had such a great way of dealing with my mother that made us know we made the right decision. There were a couple of times the staffing seemed a little tight (on a holiday) but I will say we never found them just sitting around (After all, the staffing at the so called top hospitals is non existent so in comparison they did fine). The staff is constantly out and about with the residents - not lounging at the nurses station. They must do a rigorous screening process as I was blown away with how universally caring and compassionate the staff was - from the front desk staff to the caregivers. Special call out to "O", Yvonne Nancy and the others. We are very happy with the choice we made.

My family & I would NOT recommend King Street Nursing for their loved ones. There was a lack of communication and caring at this facility. My Mom is a resident at King Street Home. The staff has been amazing in caring for my Mom. She had the choice to go home or stay and she decided to stay. As a gerontological social worker I help families keep their relatives out of nursing homes to age in place in familiar surroundings. It was not an easy decision to have my own Mom in a nursing home. But it was a really good choice.

I visited this facility

My father was recently in King Street. I have to say that my family raced to get him out of there as fast as we could. The first morning that he was there he was placed in a wheelchair with inadequete supervision. He has dementia and was very agitated, these things were known by the staff even at the time he was in the wheelchair. He attempted to stand up, and fell, obtaining a hematoma on his head and had to be taken back to the hospital a day after he left to come to King St. Even when I was informed of this incident, the nurse was cold and matter of fact, giving me no indication what the process would be eg. if he would return. The nursing staff was cold and for the most part uncaring. The people who seemed to care were either overwhelmed and couldn't spend any time with us or were within the administration . The nursing staff sometimes didn't even turn their back when I needed a response to a question. When we asked for help from the room, once we were told that "all aids were helping with dinner and couldn't come for a while." I have never taken the time to write a review but I care enough about those looking for good nursing/homes and rehab for their loved ones, to write about this. Never send anyone to King Street. You will be more stressed and your loved one may get worse instead of better.
