Brother was accepted as a known spinal fusion patient from the neck down with severe limited mobility, Tetraplegia (sometimes referred to as quadriplegia) is a term used to describe the inability to voluntarily move the upper and lower parts of the body. The areas of impaired mobility usually include the fingers, hands, arms, chest, legs, feet and toes and may or may not include the head, neck, and shoulders. The facility did not: -dress him daily -manage his foley -give him required movement -chastised him when a family member called from the front desk to check on him and he requested water because he wasnt feeling well from fever -took 5 hours to get him to the hospital since advising the family at 6am they were sending him to the hospital, he didnt leave until 11 something. -10 days in this facility, mind you he came in with none of the following, my family member ended up hospitalized with -- 3 blood clots from lack of movement being turned etc -2 blood infections, one from the foley catheter not being properly cared for -1 top side infection from not cleaning his backside properly from feces. Wouldnt recommend sending any extreme need family members here. -low staff everyone when you need something is on vactaion: social worker, laundry is Monday and Thrusday for over 100 ppl, maintenance. Scary place. Who knew with all these high stars it receives.

My mother is in Beacon Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. It's okay, and she's made friends. The people there are nice, the supervisors are really good, but the nurses need to put in more effort. They can definitely clean and sanitize a little better, and there were several instances when my mom's laundry basket still had some dirty clothes and liquid in it. Her room is outdated, and it's not the cleanest, because there's always some smell coming out of the bathroom. It's below average. In the beginning, the food wasn't always the best, but recently, it taste fine for me, and she eats the food fine.

The staff at Beacon Rehab is very, very nice. They try to be very helpful, and the nurses seem very competent. The facility is quite nice itself. It's very clean, and it's right by the beach. A lot of the rooms have ocean views, and that is quite nice. There are a lot of nice things about it, but I think the food is terrible. Its fresh food, but they need a new cook. Now the portions are getting larger because, when he first went there, the portions were very small, and I had to bring him extra food. Right now it has gotten a little bit better. Once in a while the food is good, but overall they don’t know how to cook, and to my husband, the food matters.
