I visited this facility

We came for a tour for a family member. We ultimately didn't need placement but I was so impressed with the facility. We were greeted properly and everyone we passed said hello. The facility was clean and very well kept. The administrator also took the time to introduce herself. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is looking.

My husband was at The Landing of Brighton. They were very caring. The facility was very good. The food was excellent. He was very happy there, but he kept falling and they had to take him to the hospital, so we decided that he needed more skilled nursing care. The staff were helpful. It was very clean. The structure of the building was very nice. They had different activities. My husband was very social and so he attended a lot of the activities that they had like card games, bingo, movies, and that sort of thing.

The Landing of Brighton would be a place we would like to go if we get to that point. The problem was it didn't work for the person we were looking for, my mom-in-law. She would be on the second floor and she's primarily in a wheelchair. Other than that, I liked everything about it. They had lots of activities. The facility was very clean. I liked their cleaning process and frequency. The employees were all very engaging. The residents all looked pretty happy. It's just really nice.

We went to see the Landing of Brighton and we were impressed with it. They had a lot of residents there. The staff who gave us the tour was very good, very accommodating, and didn't rush us through the walkthrough. And then the chef came in and reassured us that he wouldn't have a problem accommodating my mother-in-law's dietary needs. It just sounded like he was very caring towards the residents and wanting to meet their needs. They gave us some strawberry muffins, and they were good. They had a lot of activities and they tried to keep their residents engaged as much as they could.

I visited this facility

I have decided to move my parents to The Landing of Brighton in Rochester. I went to see their assisted living and it was very well organized, clean, and the people seemed very attentive to your needs. The rooms were fine and the design was very similar to what my parents had in the past. It would help make the move easier because it would be more familiar to my parents. They do arts and crafts, bingo, and they have a common room with a television so the people can come down and watch the TV. They also do road trips with their residents.

The Landing of Brighton was beautiful. The room was more like an apartment, it was huge, but it was expensive. The staff was very professional. It had beautiful grounds inside and out.

We like The Landing of Brighton very much. It was our second choice. The rooms were very nice and almost like a hotel room. They were large, nicely furnished, high ceilings, and bright windows. The place was very nice. I was impressed with the staff members, too. They were very good. They seemed to have lots of really nice activities, and they seemed to get the people involved. The food looked good. Most of the staff members have been there a long time. That says a lot of positive things about the community that they can maintain their staff over a long period of time.

The Landing of Brighton was very nice. We looked at the memory care units specifically. We were very impressed with the staff, with the programs, and with the individual who showed us around. Overall, we were positively impressed; however, from our location, it was a long way away. We literally live a mile away. From our proximity/location perspective, it is not as convenient for us. However, we were overall very impressed. The rooms were nice. There were studio apartments. We thought they were very big for memory care. We were impressed in general.

My uncle is in the assisted living at The Landing of Brighton. I didn't care for them that much. It is not the best, just fair. Nevertheless, my uncle seems to be OK there. However, there is a lot of turnaround with the staff, and my uncle only gets one shower a week. The rooms are nice, but they only clean it once a week. My uncle gets three meals a day. He likes their food. Their dining area stays open from 5 in the morning until 7 at night. My uncle could go in and get food anytime. There aren't that much activities, but my uncle likes them. He goes to all of their activities. Upstairs, they have a movie room where they show DVDs at night and a gym that has a bike. They also have a place where they could get their hair cut, and a room where they do all the activities.

The Landing was absolutely beautiful. I saw a little bit of activity with some of the patients. It was extremely expensive, and they were not taking Medicaid patients. The dining area was fantastic; you could order anything you wanted on the menu, like in a restaurant. The room was spacious and well decorated. It was calming and patient-focused. I would live there.

I visited The Landing of Brighton. The room was well kept and clean. The facility itself was brand new. It was in a pretty good shape. They gave me a little bit of the dessert they were serving that day, and it was fine.

I thought The Landing would be great and really excellent facility from what I saw, but my mom still wants assistance, and that wasn’t something that they could offer. It would have been a nice pick if they had been able to do that. It was nice, clean, and friendly, and the rooms were gorgeous. There were some folks playing cards in one of their activity rooms and the staff who toured us around was fantastic.

The Landing of Brighton was very nice, but I think my mother needs a higher level of care than they were able to provide. It’s a very clean, very nice place, and the people were friendly. I saw an activity list, but I did not see activities. The rooms were a very nice size, and the staff was very nice. One thing at The Landing; their dining room was like a restaurant. For some people it could be very nice, but for a lot of older people I think it’s very hard to make too many choices looking at a menu.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My father is at The Landing of Brighton. The food is good. However, they’re understaffed. The memory care side has fewer activities, and they’re not all that great. My father is not interested in doing them, so it doesn’t really matter for him. His room is nice, large, and has a bathroom.

Landing of Brighton was bright and cheery. The people were friendly. The administrator gave me a tour. It was a much better overall experience than other places I visited. Had my mother decided that she was going to come back to Rochester, this is exactly where I would have had her go. The dining area was like dining in a fine hotel.

We didn't spend a lot of time with anybody; they were assisted living people, but the person who gave us the tour just kind of like said "Hi" to everybody. It was a smaller community -- it is a very new community -- and they weren't even completely full with the number of rooms that they had. We looked at ones that were like model rooms -- they could not have been inhabited -- and they were nice, but you kind of wondered what this one looked like if there was a resident in here. I had worked at an assisted living home, and it is a little different when somebody's living there versus when it is all cleaned up and waiting for the next person. They asked us what kind of activities my mom liked, and she is not really an activity person -- she likes to read and is kind of solitary -- so it was hard for me to give them any idea of things. She is not the type of person to come out and play bingo or anything. They showed us the schedule that they have. They would take the people out to Walmart and things like that for occasional shopping, and they have special movie nights and things like that. My father was very impressed by the meals -- the idea that he wouldn't have to make the meals and such -- and they were good because he and my mother basically exists on lean cuisines and other frozen meals.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

The Landing of Brighton is a brand new facility, and they are geared towards people that have dementia or diagnosed with Alzheimer?s. It is a younger population, and they do a lot more to help the residents. One of the chores that my mom likes to do is laundry, and they allow her to do her own laundry. They do not have an exact meal time. They have a restaurant, which is open from 7AM to 7PM. She can go any time she wants, and she can eat three or four meals a day. She loves the food. The staff is helpful, very friendly, and always a pleasure to be around. They all seem to love their job, and it really shows. The apartments are beautiful. I absolutely love the facility and the people there.

My mom is at The Landing of Brighton, and it has been outstanding. They have brand new properties. The staff is very positive, and they tried really hard to get everyone to do things. They are also very helpful. They do have activities every day or every couple of days. The ratio of their staff to the patients is unbelievable. There's one for every two or three residents, and that is great.

The Landing of Brighton was beautiful, I want in to move in myself. The place is very peacefuland quiet. It felt like true independent living with real attention to detail. There was great attention to comfort and ease of transition. The dining room was not like a dining room, but it was like a restaurant that a person could eat anytime of the day. They gave me samples of food to take home so I could get a sense of their cooking. The rooms were beautiful, luxurious, and very safe feeling. I would give it a 5 except I wish it was a little closer to things to walk to for people who have the ability to walk and be a little more independent. I would prefer a place that’s near a coffee shop or a bookstore.

The Landing was absolutely beautiful. They were very friendly. It was brand new, so the rooms were beautiful. There were only 2 residents there when I went for the tour. They had many activity rooms and a little store. The price was so high, I didn’t go any further with it.
