This facility was awful – here are three reasons. Our story is that my dad was placed here in February of 2024 after a stroke. First, when we called for help for him to go to the bathroom, it was an unreasonably long wait despite the aides (nurses?) out in the hall talking. Second, when we called to get information about how he was doing (repeatedly), we were not called back. My mom was frantic as she was home recovering from Covid and worried my dad was being neglected. I politely tried to intervene, and a nurse was so rude to me - treated me with impatience and nastiness. Third, when we finally got my dad out of there to Albany Medical Center to die with dignity (his decline at Rosewood was very fast), upon arrival using ambulance transport, his wedding ring was missing. His finger was bruised where the ring was taken off - my mother filed a police report. The police said they get a lot of reports of theft at Rosewood. Please, do not allow your loved one to stay here.

My mother-in-law stayed at Rosewood Rehabilitation and Nursing for rehab. She had a lot of abuse that went on. They didn't give her food. She couldn't move, so they put the food away. When they brought in the dinners, they put it where she couldn't reach it. She had diarrhea all the time. They won't put her to bed. It was just nasty. Her room was very tiny, but it was clean, and she had a roommate. It was like way down on the other end, and there was like nobody around. They have very little staff; I only saw one person out of the whole building. When my mother-in-law was having to leave to go to the hospital I had to override the director, because she wanted to stop it for COVID. My mother-in-law would have died if she didn't go then. The facility wasn't too bad. They need staff, and actually have staff that are not going to scream at them. It was just horrible.

The rooms are old, seldom cleaned. Stale air coming from filthy heat/ac units. Unfriendly staff..but a few are very very nice . The food sucks. Full trays go back to the kitchen. Can't get the help you need, you do it yourself...or go without. My friend, there for a broken hip. Got herself out of bed, into a wheelchair and onto the toilet, then back to bed, because it took so long for help!! Even a cup of ice is too much to ask for. Put your call light on, but be prepared to wait and wait and wait. Please do not send a loved one there. Whatever nice pics you see have to be over 20 years old !!!

My Aunt stayed here for rehab. The staff is very unfriendly. Most of the time they sit at the nurses station while call bells go off. I had to tell them that a patient was on the floor. The food my Aunt said was horrible. They never had supplies.

My sister stayed at Rosewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for rehab. The people were nice, but we had a huge problem with the social worker. She complained that she's overworked and overloaded. I told her that's not our problem and that's something that she needed to work out with her management. So, we had to chase her all the time to get any type of assessment report. Even now that my sister has already been transferred to another facility and she was supposed to arrange for her wound care service, occupational therapy, physical therapy when she moved in, it was never done and still hasn't been done. They are still organizing it now but for two weeks, she's been on her own. We were disappointed with them. She never called back and she made excuses. It was piss poor. The other staff was fine though. Their aides and the rehab people were all friendly and nice. The place was also kind of rundown and overcrowded, and he said the food was terrible. The entranceway was all broken and they tried to patch it. It's concrete, so you can see the patches on it. It's not very well maintained.

I was forced to watch my mom decompensate drastically over the course of almost 5 weeks. Facility staff failed to acknowledge cognitive decline And UTI in a timely fashion. We begged for help for weeks and reported my mom's decline and requested to speak with the facility MD also staff will offer to file a complaint to the director of nursing with a smile on their face as in this case but director of nursing failed to respond as well as facility MD. Facility staff left my mom crying in pain and unable to feed herself do to her decline. A Vital medical appointment was canceled by the facility during a crucial timeAnd refused to allow family to transport and assist my mom on her appointment.Eventually the family contacted 911 for evaluation and my mother was removed from the facility on 12/15/18 and on life support within hours. Facility failed to diagnose severe pneumonia sepsis and UTIWhile my mom displayed obvious signs. My mom died a few days later Of multiple organ failure due to sepsis after being at the facility for nearly five weeks. She also had a bed sore within a few weeks of being there. Facility contacted family a month later to collect the remaining payment. Most of the staff I came in contact with had no compassion for human life. The problems start with Administration. Nurses were a horrible example of quality CareThey were very cold and had no expression or sympathy while watching my mom shake and cry in pain the LPN said they have patience worse and that my mom will feel better after taking her pain medication that she could barely swallow at the time. By this time my mom was lethargic humming her words shaking and crying. We requested her fluids be drained from her body for a month as and nothing was done instead staff allowed fluids to fill her body leading to arm swelling and weeping of fluids. He waited over 3 weeks for staff to test for suspected UTI Which was confirmed when she arrived to the hospital. If you're thinking of sending your loved one here consider this review!!!

My mom was in Rosewood a month ago. As far as the rehab part -- the OT and the PT -- it was excellent -- very good. They included her in all the activities, they went and got her, and they brought her out because she wouldn't remember to go. They made sure she got up to breakfast, lunch, and dinner so she could be with other people at the table to eat, and that was great. So, if it was for socialization, it was wonderful. She participated in the activities, she did her PT and her OT, and that part was great; that part was excellent. She had to have wound care because she had edema, and her legs just got so big, they split, and she had to have wound care, but I am not sure if they were kind of qualified or really knew how to handle it. They wrapped and bandaged it, but they were supposed to use solutions and wrap it every other day, and I just don't think they knew how to do that or were trained how to do that. So for that part, she got better care with that in the hospital than she did at rehab. But all in one, it was a great experience, she loved it, and they were very good to her, but I also went every day to make sure that everything was done the way it should be. I absolutely would recommend Rosewood for rehab, but I don't know about the nursing home part because we weren't part of that.
