I like Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker. I'm insulin diabetic, and there are a couple of other people who have other health issues, it would be nice if they would make food that I and a couple of others downstairs could eat regularly. But I manage, my sugar has been great, so that's good. I have a nice living room, not that big, but I've got all my stuff in it. The bedroom is behind the living room, and it's plenty big enough for me. With regards to activities, this afternoon we do bingo, and I run a meditation group, so I do that. I like just doing any crafts at all. Sometimes they have live performers come in and sing for us, and they throw parties like we had one for Mardi Gras and then the next day was Valentine's Day, so they sugared us up for those two days. And I'm very outgoing, and I make friends easily. The facility's upkeep is great. I have someone who comes in every Sunday and cleans my apartment. And then on Thursday, I put my wash outside in the hall. I put it there and it goes away and comes back on Friday all washed and folded. So the facility is very clean. We have three maintenance guys that will fix or repair anything we need.

I liked Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker very much. My mother didn't like it very much though. She didn't feel that she needed assisted living and then that facility discovered that it had Legionnaires bacteria in their water system. So, that kind of took care of that. I believe the facility has fixed that issue but my mother's reaction to the issue of moving into assisted living followed closely by that Legionnaires issue just didn't work out. The admissions director was very knowledgeable. She knew the residents and they were very comfortable with her. She knew the staff. She was very knowledgeable about what we would need to do to have our mother move in. So, she was a good source of information. Everything was clean, pleasant, and looking appropriately decorated for autumn. It seemed like a place where someone would like to be. It's like a hotel setting.

I like everything about Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker. And I would have been happy if my father went there, but I can't get him in there right now. It was very clean. Everyone was very friendly. The room sizes were good. The people I dealt with were very good and knowledgeable. They showed me an activity room and a dining room. The place was excellent. It was all modern and up-to-date.

I toured Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker. There's a bunch of stuff that I like about it. I'm struck by the fact that it was very clean and not shabby at all, but it was refreshed, so that was an immediate impression. The tour person, Katie, was very personable. She spoke fast, but we're the kind of people that can take in information fast. The style of communication was easy to follow for us, but not necessarily for older folks. Nevertheless, I'm happy with what I saw of the staff. They seemed very caring. I was also impressed with the food situation, and it looked like a lot of healthy variety of food was available to them. I also like the fact that my parents would be able to spend as much time together as they wanted to. Although my mother would be in memory care and my dad would have a studio apartment, they could still any time visit each other and of course eat meals together, so that was important to us. The staff seemed hands-on, knowledgeable, and warm. They showed us two units, a studio where my dad would be staying because he has no physical or memory issues whatsoever, and my mom's situation in memory care. It would become very, very apparent that she's got to have 24-hour care. They cannot be in the same apartment, which we wanted to have happen, but it wasn't going to be an option.

Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker was very nice and well-appointed. The people seemed to be happy there. The apartments were very nicely laid out, and the bathrooms were roomy, and big enough for a wheelchair. They were light, color-wise, which meant a lot to the residents. It's kind of cheery. They had kitchenettes. They looked very well laid out. The dining room looked like a restaurant. It was very well laid out and very inviting as was the combination library and living room. I can't think of anything bad. The person who gave us the tour was extremely nice. Other than having to climb the hill from the boulevard, it was very nice. The building itself was well laid out and roomy.

I liked the shared rooms at Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker. I liked that it seemed like it was a smaller facility, so it could give greater attention to memory care residents. The staff were very nice, very, very gracious, and very helpful. Of all of the facilities I visited, I think this was the best one. They showed me the facility for memory care residents where they had them sit down and give them some work activities like segregating buttons by color or size or things like that, something that helps them to exercise their minds. I thought that was an excellent idea. The facilities in general were very beautiful.

Like the other assisted living facilities I visited, Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker was regulated by the Department of Health so you were very limited as to what you could do, but the tour I had was very good. The overall appearance was very nice. I liked that they offered a keycard to get in and out of your room and not a key because I thought that it's easier for a senior to get in and out of their room. The lady who took us around was very good. She took her time with us and explained a lot of things. They had a salon, a library, and entertainment. The only downside was that they only had one washer and dryer room on the third floor. There wasn't one on every floor, so you had to take your laundry up to the third floor, no matter what floor you were on. I thought that it'd be a long haul if somebody was on the first floor at the other end of the building. They have to walk all their laundry, but you could hire cleaning services to do your laundry for you (at least your linens, towels, and sheets). So, that was a nice feature.

Our tour of Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker went nicely. It was a very nice facility. It was well kept, clean, and well lit. It had nice surroundings and nice courtyards. It was easily accessible by main roads. The staff we encountered was friendly. The memory care side was secured, and the residents got escorted when they needed to go out. The rooms were well lit and clean, but a bit on the small side. It looked like it could be very cozy. They all had nice windows looking out to the grounds. We had a lot of their baked goods, and they were very good. The dining area looked all clean and well lit. They had a lot of activities ranging from cooking to games to crafts to movies, and taking people out on trips. They had a big schedule of events on their monthly calendar.

Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker was very nice. The staff were very friendly. They seemed to be knowledgeable about their community. They had community rooms. You could go to church services, and get your nails done. They had a salon there. They had a movie room, a library, a community room, and all those kinds of things. They had exercise classes in the morning. It was lovely and very nice.

I toured Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker. It was very nice inside. I just wasn't thrilled about the location. There were apartment buildings right next door and a lot of businesses and stuff like that really close by. It wasn't quite as quiet and serene. The people there were fantastic. The facility itself was very nice, just not thrilled with the location. It was the only downside. The staff I had contact with was fantastic. She was asking a lot of questions about my mom, like what she liked to do and that kind of thing. It was very nice. They did show me what the activities were. I did not see any going on, but they had a full calendar for things to do. The apartments were clean and nicely done. They were a little bit smaller than the other two places, but not significantly.

Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker is in very good shape physically. It's a very bright and clean facility, which creates a good impression. The people seem lovely. My mother is not easy to please, and they have been very, very cooperative in trying to accommodate her various requests and departures from the routine. They're flexible about accommodating people. She doesn't want to eat at the regular breakfast time and she likes to sleep in, that kind of thing. It's very good. They're wonderful. Everybody is very nice. They're very cordial and very accommodating. I have absolutely no complaints and the place is very clean. She likes the meals. I had her out for a doctor's appointment and she said, "I have to get back for lunch. The food is really good." They give them two hot choices for lunch and dinner. Most of the staff are great, a couple of them seem a little cranky. The food looks great. They have pork chops and sirloin tips, good stuff. The halls are very long though. I've seen others that have sort of a cluster design that are a little bit more convenient. They have to be fairly fit, and they have to be able to get around. My mother is lucky. What they did was they grabbed right away a room that was closest to the activity room and the dining room for her. The other rooms would be quite a haul. If someone isn't very fit, it would be a problem. It's far for older folks. She likes the activities. She's practically blind, and they told me they have a lot of people with macular degeneration, so they have a lot of activities where it's not necessary absolutely that you have to see well. They have musicians come in, and she liked that. They have a lot of singing. They had some dance lessons. They also have bingo and trivia where you just have to listen, you don't have to read anything or see anything. She likes the activities and she partakes in all of them. They have exercises every morning at 10:00, which is great. It's very reasonable price-wise. It's also right across from a hospital.

The Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker was very nice and they were extremely helpful. We learned a tremendous amount of information. We did the tour with the intent that there would be assisted living so that's what we explored. They were able to explain all the differences of the different levels of care, and what the family could need and do so they wouldn't have to provide all kinds of stuff. They gave us all the important information. We walked through the facility and looked at it. It's new and modern, and the staff seemed very nice. The staff who toured us was very informative, she was very on top of everything and knew what she was doing. The place is all brand new, and everything's nice, clean, and in good order. I think there was an exercise room, a game room, a movie theater, and a courtyard outside.

I liked Peregrine Senior Living at Shaker a lot. That one tops my list. Everything was pretty much brand new as they remodeled within the last couple of years. They had a very welcoming tour guide who was very knowledgeable, friendly, and very attentive to my description of dad. They offer four different size rooms that were nice and all relatively spacious, even for the lowest end model. They were very furnished with all the brand-new stuff, handrails within the shower going on all three walls, and more handrails on both sides of the toilet, too, so that's a plus. They have a really nice movie theater, a courtyard, and a gazebo. A lot of their rooms have windows that look right out onto that, which is a nice feature. They also have a farmer's garden for those who have any interest in gardening and are still able to do things like that.

It has a beautiful landscape, and there's a lot of interactive activities for my dad. I felt that he would progress.. He had the best chance of prolonging his life and enjoying the rest of his life there. He's in memory care. We really like the layout of the apartments, and the staff is incredible. My main concern was I didn't want him just lying on the bed all day, which is what he was doing. They have a number of activities that he was actually interested in, and they had them geared towards his views. That's why I thought that was the best choice. I was blown away just pulling into their parking lot. The memory program was very impressive. Having a parent to carry in front of your eyes is very difficult. To know that they're in the hands of people who know what they're doing and can help them was very uplifting. Maybe it will help to not progress as fast and make things better.

We went and they also sent us a video. It looked fine. The staff was very thorough, and she answered the questions we have. The food was very good, we peeped through the window but unfortunately, they're going through renovations, and the dining room wasn't set up. The other rooms, we saw through the video they sent.

My mother-in-law moved in. Everything is brand new, because they did a lot of construction on the place. It's very pretty, very clean, very neat, and the employees are very friendly, and I like it. They have a chef that cooks for you, so I would like to go there. The assisted living part is very active, and they do a lot of stuff. They play bingo, they have music, and they have movies every night.

We liked it very much. It was very nice and clean, and there were lots of people around doing things. It was a long distance for my dad to walk to the room that they had available, though. The person who assisted us was very nice, answered all our questions, and was in contact with us through email. She also gave us her phone number. We had a very nice lunch there. There were lots of choices that my father would have liked.

We’ve placed my mother here. One of the reasons I chose it is it’s only 10 minutes from my house. They seem to have a very caring and kind staff and some nice activities. I know they have transportation to certain doctor appointments, and they take them on outings sometimes. My mother is doing well and seems to like it. My mother wanted the smallest unit available. She’s in a studio; it’s not too small, it’s not too large, and it’s furnished nicely. She said the food is very good. One of the things they’re known for is their food.

It was very pleasant looking, very clean, and very fresh. They seemed to have a lot going on and got everybody involved in a lot of different activities which was nice to see. They were very thorough, very warm, and welcoming. They have kitchen areas, and they have another little area where they can have their own food if they wanted to.

What a wonderful place for my mom. We were so anxious with our decision of placing mom here. The staff has made it such a wonderful experience. They are kind wonderful people who care. My mom just loves Rachel the social worker, Ethel the housekeeper and Tony the building director.

I visited and the staff seemed very friendly and helpful. The director gave us a tour and was very informative. The rooms were cute little rooms. It had everything you need. It was furnished. The dining room looked good, and the menu looked great. If a person would rather have oatmeal, they make oatmeal. They had a Christmas party, and they had movies. They had a lot of activities. You could do anything you wanted. It was a nice enough area and very secure.

It is a wonderful facility. It is new and bright with more light and more color. It's also very clean with lots of activities for the seniors to do. The whole board was full of activities. My wife and I went there on Christmas Eve just to see what the activities were, and we wanted to see what was going on.

It was recommended to us by friends. Everything there is fine but there's not too much place for residents to walk around there. The staff is fine as well and for the most part, the food is very good. Their activities are good. They're mostly word games. I think they could improve on that by having more outdoor physical activities when the weather is nice.

I choose here because they let my mom stay with my dad despite in her condition with dementia. The staff is very friendly and cooperative. Everything is up to par. They have tons of activities to keep them occupied. They also have trips. They have an ambassadors program where they help new residents mingle with the people. I like that they have an open door policy.
