My mom is at Hillside Manor. It's close to transit and it's on route. They have activities and my mom likes them. We chose it because it was close to home. The staff are nice and caring. Her room is clean and spacious. The place is lively, and the people are always doing something. It's like an apartment building, but there's stuff to do as they have different activities. I have not tried the food, but my mom says it's okay. Their dining room is nice, too. They have concerts, movie nights, game nights, game days, and a lot of varied activities for the residents.

I looked at Hillside Manor. It seemed okay, but I noticed that there weren't too many visitors there. The staff was very nice. The person who gave me the tour was very nice. It's an old place, but it seems to be clean.

The facility is much cleaner in the hallways then the rooms. My family member was over medicated constantly.. I have never seen her or anyone else involved in any activities listed on the monthly calendar in the last 8 years I’ve been visiting. There are a few caring nurses but I wouldn’t recommend this place at all! Money hungry and lacking empathy in staff

My sister is at the Hillside Manor for rehab. She's usually in the dayroom with other people watching TV. They give her, her medications as scheduled many times a day. Her room is private and it's very clean, but it wasn't as new or great like the others. The staff members seem to do their job. The social worker invited me to a progress meeting where they described what my sister was doing. It's not a new facility, but it's clean. Hillside Avenue is a very busy area and is city like, and there's just a parking lot in front of the building. The residents there are not supposed to be in the room by themselves, so they're outside in the hallway in their wheelchairs.
It's the worse!!

A family member of mine was there recently for rehabilitation and we decided to use the laundry service, and it was horrible!! They lost several of her labeled clothing, and they have no lost & found system what so ever!!! Also PCA fill in's were not properly trained on the patients they were covering. When her regular PCA wasn't there she wasn't cleaned properly which caused her to receive several UTI's!!! Their physical therapy is the worse and upon release she received someone else prescription, and it was pointed out which lead me to believe that she was overly medicated during her stay there. My recommendation is stay far away from Hillside Manor!!!

When I visited Hillside Manor, it was very nice, and the people were very helpful. It has a very comfortable setting. I like that everybody has their own room which I appreciate. The staff was very helpful, very warm, very loving, and very attentive. I used to know somebody that was here before, so that's why I know about this facility. It was absolutely clean. I appreciate the cleanliness of that facility. The walls are painted, and nothing is peeled. There was no broken furniture. The staff and the facility are very much up to par. The staff was very attentive, and they worked well with the patients.

I attended a nearby high school and as volunteer service I often visited the elderly residents at this nursing home in an organization called "Adopt a Grandparent." I went once a week for two years, sitting with residents in a well-kept room full of activities and board games. Staff members would often sit down briefly when my group was visiting, sometimes even participating in an activity or chatting with the residents. They seemed incredibly friendly and professional at all times, and made an effort to thank my volunteer group and wish us well each time we came and again when we left. All of the elderly seemed rather happy and content, well-groomed, and engaged during this time. In fact, I rarely heard a resident complain about anything; many seemed very pleased with the services being provided and were especially happy to be so regularly visited by high school students (there were several schools in the area, so I believe they may have been visited nearly every day because of the rotation schedule, but I may be mistaken). Overall, if I had to help make the decision to put an elderly loved one in a nursing home, I would not hesitate to choose Hillside Manor based on my experiences as a visitor.
