I visited this facility

Lockport Presbyterian Home was very accommodating and very friendly. The facility was very nice. They had a nice variety of rooms and everything seemed to be in good condition. It was large enough to accommodate a motorized wheelchair in the hallways, tables, placement, and everything. People were participating in some games they had going on in the one room. The facility is beautiful. It's a renovated mansion, so the atmosphere is still of very grandeur.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My dad likes Lockport Presbyterian Home a lot. It's great. He has his own bedroom, bathroom, and living room. Right off his room, he has a little deck he could sit out on. They do a lot of activities to get him involved. He won four games of bingo already. They do shopping once a month, and my dad likes the food. They got him more therapy because he's not walking on his own. The staff members are wonderful, love their jobs, and are always smiling. My dad is enjoying everything. It's awfully expensive, but they will reimburse him from Veterans in six months to get back some of his money. It's high priced, but worth it.

I visited this facility

We visited Presbyterian Home. They were very accommodating. We stopped by spur of the moment, and they gave us a tour of the facility. My sister and I visited twice, and we took my mom once. The staff was very nice, and it’s a nice facility but feels a little more institutional and older. It's very spread out because it’s a series of buildings and they try to maintain the old, historic part of Lockport. Living there would involve more mobility, which my mom doesn’t have, so it would have been a chore for her. The residents were very involved in some kind of a variation of bingo and other activities. We also saw them while they were eating. They had very nice living rooms throughout where the residents could gather and watch TV or read.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Everything is working nicely for my friend at Lockport Presbyterian Home. They are good people. It is run well. She has plenty of attention and plenty of good care. They have a lot of people coming in from the community to give programs, and they have musical events. They also have bingo, movie nights, and ice cream socials.

This place was pretty nice aside from a few things. The staff was very kind and courteous and was very patient with my grandmother since she doesn't walk very well and is very slow. The took the time to answer all of our questions and even offered to allow her a trial visit. My grandmother ultimately decided upon another place because some of the residents there were very rude and unwelcoming. I believe it was because the room she would have taken previously belonged to a long time resident there, and they felt uncomfortable by the change.

I visited this facility

It's a very nice place. They have a lot of different options for room size. There are small rooms. There are big rooms. It's very clean. The staff was very helpful and was able to answer all our questions. In the Presbyterian Home, there's just the rooms that they live in and then all the rest is common area. There's a studio type room where you just have one room and a bathroom, and there are some rooms that have like a living area and then your bedroom. The dining area is very nice. There's a nice courtyard for them to go out to. They also have a hair salon. They have things for them to do there. We were looking more for my mother in law maybe, perhaps, they have like a kitchenette. A room where they could do some sort of cooking but I understand because it's older people. I wish she had a kitchenette but you really don't wanna have it in their rooms and I understand that because of safety reasons. I would recommend it there. My mother in law is very frugal about her money so the cost is gonna be an issue in any of the place but there they met her needs.
