WCA Home was very clean. The grounds were very pretty. The staff was very welcoming and very warm. They played cards, had live music, movie nights, and arts and crafts. They were really good and very attentive. They got a small dining room, but they got a second dining room, too, (if necessary), depending on the number of residents they have there.

This facility is poorly managed and has barely qualified teenagers giving uncaring patient care. The food is tasteless and overcooked, and people are forced into chanting prayers before the meals are served. Residents sit around sleeping in chairs and wondering what day of the week it is. There are no worthwhile amenities, and it is probably the worst environment ever visited. Do not take your relatives there if at all possible.

The facility is poorly run and hires minimum wage employees who give substandard care. The residents are forced to chant prayers before meals with religious beliefs forced upon them. The rooms are small, the food is mush, and the entire home is filled with women sitting around waiting to die. It is a depressing place filled with uncaring employees and certainly not somewhere you want to end up living.

Women's Christian Association Home was old and had very small rooms. It did not look very appealing to me. I had a scheduled appointment, but they had no clue that I was coming. The person who I was supposed to meet did not bother to come down even when they called her and told her that I was there. The girl from the kitchen offered to give me a tour. She gave a nice tour, but because they blew off my appointment, I had no interest. The people I saw were just sitting in their wheelchairs, lined up in the hall. It wasn't very impressive.

Though a beautiful home and very tastefully furnished, I just can't recommend WCA Home. I have witnessed first hand how the current emloyees and/or possible management speaks to certain resident with dementia. When I visited a friend a couple months ago I observed a staff member(?) talking in a condescending manner to two different residents who appearred to have dementia.(?). there was another employee standing there and she didn't say anything... but she didn't stand up for the resident either. That alone turned me off to this particular home. This wasn't a young aide or nurse...it was a woman who worked there in some other capacity.... didn't have uniform type clothing on but did have a lanyard around her neck that was flipped over (I couldn't see her title). With that said, if you visit WCA Home...ask various residents and their family (privately) how they or their family member likes their stay there. Take care and I wish you great success in finding the perfect home for your loved one. :)

This all-women facility is a beautiful Victorian Home near the center of the village of Fredonia. The administration and employees are absolutely the best. It is very obvious how much they love their residents. There are many activities throughout the year for the residents to participate in. The college is just down the road and some of the students come to the Home to visit, perform, and help out.
