My mother is in Garden Care Center. It's a small place, but it's a great place. It's rehab and skilled nursing facility. They're very good, and it's very clean. The people there are very nice and very helpful. They're always taking care of everything. I give them a lot of credit. It's not easy to be taking care of elderly people. Because of COVID, they're not having any gathering, but when they'll go to rehab, they'll try to play some games and stuff there. It's close to where I live. Her doctors go there, so for my situation, it was very convenient because not that much has changed for her as far as doctors and things like that. It's very near the hospital in Valley Stream and there are restaurants.

My mother is in the Garden Care Center. They're completely understaffed. I got COVID there. I had gone from my house to see my mother up there, and they were coming down with COVID three weeks ago. So, they're constantly moving people in and out of the room. It's supposed to be a semi-private room and there are three people in it. They don't have any room to move around. It's ridiculous. The staff is rude, and they don't care. They don't care, and they should take that care name out of it. They should make it a Garden. The food is barely edible. The only thing good about it was the patio. When my mother goes out in the summertime, she likes to sit out in the sun, and that's about it. The building is old, it's not kept up properly. I can see that they've got a lot of work that's for sure. They were painting the room while my mother was in the room. They're ridiculous.

I've been coming here every week for the last 4 or 5 weeks. Every time I come the downstairs staff person to check you in is very professional and makes sure you know what the policy is upon entry. This would be just about the only person I would see consistently. When I get to the 2nd floor there is usually 1 staff member and I can see they are working doing rounds but I don't feel that is an acceptable number of staff for the number of patients on the floor. There is never an administrator present when im here. Doctors are never here on weekends. The sheets are always dirty and looks like they were not changed for a couple days. The sheets are stained and discolored and I always make sure the sheets are changed and the room is sanitary and sanitized every time I visit. I truly feel bad for patients that have no family members to come see them because I can only imagine what they experience.

My father-in-law is in Garden Care Center. It's nice. The place is old. I wouldn't say rundown, but it's not updated. Everyone was very nice. It just wasn't updated, that's all I could say. They should do updates of the surroundings. They have that screening for COVID. They heavily screen you before you go in, and you got to make sure that you have a COVID test. They take your temperature, and they ask you all those questions: "Have you been out of the country?" (and all the usual stuff).

The entire facility staff is always courteous and professional. This amazing team has worked a miracle for my brother. Our entire family is eternally grateful to all, individually and collectively.

Awesome Nursing Home! My Grandparents were there. 2 of my uncles are there now. Staff is phenomenal, very pleasant and caring. Rooms/building are new, nice, large, bright and spacious. Recreation department does a great job, always something exciting happening. They have a lot of activities, parties and concerts. They take residents out on trips. Rehab department is top, my Grandpa had a leg injury and he went there for rehab and we thought that he will need 4 months to get better, they got him stronger then he was before the injury in 6 weeks. Always a positive atmosphere there, would totally recommend.

My husband is in Garden Care Center. They have excellent care and the staff is very nice and cooperative. The location is about five miles away, but it's OK. My husband's room is a little shabby but extremely clean, kept spotless and you don't have that nursing home smell. He gets wonderful physical therapy that he's very happy with, and they have daily activities. The pricing is a fair market value.

My mom has dementia so she is not very aware of where exactly she is. But she's ok there at Garden Care Center and we're okay with her being there. As far as satisfaction, I would wish that she would cooperate more with her cleanliness but she won't and they’re able to get her cleaned up but it’s not always consistent. She is a tough person to handle. She does not always cooperate and they have to deal with her attitude so I think they manage her well. She was far worse at home and she would not accept any home care so we didn’t have much of a choice. I think their staff is responsive to my family's request or need, whether its information or anything. They try to address any of our concerns. They have a nice patio which gives the residence a chance to get out in the air. My mother is at a stage where we're not able to bring her away from the place. We would wish that she was more capable and we could provide a lifestyle that was a little better but it’s where she's at and we've accepted that. The staff does a great deal of flexibility, and for some people that may not work. But my mother is a difficult person and the fact that they are flexible with her is necessary to keep her okay.
